The reason I love the bluecoats is because of how innovative they've become. The music, the shows, the style, the uniforms, everything. They're taking DCI and turning it on it's head. They're doing things that other corps haven't dreamed of, and it's working, hence the two seasons being the best in their history. People seem surprised about these new uniforms as much as they are angry, but I'm not, because I knew they would do something crazy and out there, but definitely in a good way, just like in 2014 and 2015. They've won me over the past 2 years, and I really hope that I can march with them before I age out. But until then, I'll continue to be as impressed as I've been with them

SUPER INNOVATIVE DECISION.... head gear used to be an old rule from the old days.... but no more.... they look more athletic and more flexible....however, headgear always was used to make the "dots" on the field taller.... I like it... very cool show.
The BD books get less and less amazing every year. Rarick hasn’t lost any of his magic, though he has used the same 4:3 roll/tap drag lick for 3 years straight now lol. Most of BD is just recycled stuff that wears off each season
It's amazing how many more notes are packed into these top lines' books compared to the lines just 5-6 places below them. Their book is like an infinitely dense black hole of (clean, distinct, beautiful) notes.

So basically, the snares come around and reverse the order, so Ben starts going and once he gets to the other side, Max still hasn't gone and then realized oh shit I need to go so he flies off as Chris and Landon do their own thing. You see the order get a little mixed up as they go behind Aaron. You see everyone else laughing like wtf just happened, as Ben gives everyone a nice wake up call by screaming "GOOOOOOOOO". I mean honestly I think Ben is the real hero here. Same guy that told everyone their show was gonna be called "Mr. Mailbox" on snapchat. #BenKries2016
So is the drum set a bust for show music? I saw them use it for warm ups but I don't think it's going to be possible with all the movement their doing this year!! Wow
I hate it when people compare this year's show with TILT , i mean i know you love tilt more than any other shows but damn it what do you expect from them? TILT part 2? Every year is something different and unique, appreciate it or leave it.
People went nuts when the cadets changed to black. People probably went nuts back in 95 when Phantom changed their uniforms from white to black. Personally I don't like the cavies uniforms because there is practically no green and it's missing the sash but I have gotten used to it. I can't picture the bluecoats sliding down their ramps with their old style uniforms and the helmets anyway. I think from what I have seen on TH-cam they fit the show very well. The only corps that have stuck to their old style this year is Madison and SCV. I have been a fan from the stands since 1989 and I have seen a lot of changes in the activity in 26 years. I don't like all the changes the DCI has made over the years but the corps still put on great shows and the kids are having fun and I think that is all that matters.
lol I love bc, but I had a percussion instructor who would trash them because he thought they did too many visuals and it made them look unprofessional. Our other drumline instructor loved them though.
For whatever reason, their show just doesn't scream "Bluecoats" to me. It hasn't "wowed" me like it did previous years. Now, I'm not saying it wasn't a great performance (I saw it in theators and will be watching in Massillon again today), I think this may be the Coat's year, but I wasn't blown away like I have been by their shows recent years.
I agree, now either I got used to the whole DCI chill giving hype. In their previous I had chills the whole show, but this year I didn't feel the chills as much. Besides that, Bluecoats will forever be my favorite corp, the show this year is fantastic and I see this year being for the coats. I may have contradicted myself, but still, fantastic stuff from them.
It sounded like someone dropped some notes in the very first bass feature. Edit: yeah, I've listened to this about 50 times now, and I still cannot even remotely parse what that first bass feature is supposed to sound like.
