Anybody ever answer you about the stone on his hat? It's turquoise because.........Morgane loves turquoise. So much so that she has/had a shop in Nashville specializing in it.
Thanks for doing these tiny desk reactions. The reason I was one of the people that suggested these is because of the audio quality and intimate setting. There are a lot of talented artists who have done these concerts and it gives you an added appreciation of their music.
The man’s a unicorn he just is he opens his mouth and it’s honestly like omg I’ve been listening to him for about a year you should check out his older stuff when he was with the steeldrivers just wow all you can say
So glad you did this. They are perfect for the small venue setting. Tedeschi Trucks Band also does a tiny concert at Tiny Desk that you should/must see. Derek Trucks was part of Allman Brothers Band and is a top notch guitarist, his wife Susan Tedeschi is a great blues/jazz/rock singer, the band is awesome.
I don't know how anyone couldn't love Chris! Always perfection. Thanks guys! Y'all should really check out Tyler Childers Hard Times on Red Barn. Colter Wall is great too! Any of his Brewery Sessions are absolute gold.
The best version of this song I’ve heard is the 2016 CMA Awards artist of the year. Give it a watch, they do a little interview with him first that you can forward if you want, but the performance is amazing !!
Oorah!!! Nice video. Check Chris out live if you get a chance. Catch some of his early years with the steeldrivers singing rainbows never die. Good stuff!!!
APPROXIMATELY 10 MONTHS AGO I REQUESTED A B&S REACTION TO CHRIS STAPLETON'S "STARTING OVER" & "MAGGIE'S SONG"!!!!! "STARTING OVER" HAS BEEN RELEASED AS A SINGLE & BOTH SONGS ARE ON CHRIS"S NEW ALBUM "STARTING OVER" TO BE RELEASED 11/13/2020!!!!!
PLEASE CHECK OUT 2 OF CHRIS'S NEW UNPUBLISHED SONGS AVAILABLE ON YOU TUBE STARTING OVER & RUN MAGGIE RU N I REALLY LIKE BOTH SONGS!!!! I WANT TO HEAR WHAT YOU GUYS THINK! BTW GREAT REACTION AS ALWAYS!!!!!
I know this was recorded almost a year ago, but just came across it. I've was a paramedic/firefighter for almost 25yrs, and I know the look of trauma in someones eyes far to well, and you guys had that look for most of the song. Not sure what inner demons you're facing or have faced in the past, and I don't wanna know, just do me a favor and talk to someone about it if you haven't yet. Don't have to be a shrink even, just get that shit out, trust me, pushing it down does nothing good, cost me the last few years working at a career I loved. Peace ✌️
Do Al Downing Touch me. He was great, sadly no longer with us. Old guys like the old guy. Love your show, Y'all are great together I have watched them all. Peace Out!
YAY! Finally lol. Idk if you have seen this one or not but if you get a chance.. Stone Cold by Demi Lovato live at the Billboards women in music. It’s another sad one but her voice is incredible. And also her video of Tell me you love me.
Hey guys..I like your channel. You two seem like really good people, I found you while chasing my hobby of watching first time Stapleton reactors.... You should check out Chris doing this song on the 'CMT Artist of the Year 2016' show....not for a video, just for you. I think it's the best version. Keep up the good work ✌
2 people I would like you to react to Marc Broussard "Home" and Shoshana Bean "Make it Rain " two great voices. B&S show always great reactions.....you two are great!
NPR really does a great job with music in general, and the Tiny Desk Concerts series is great. You guys can find a lot of wonderful stuff going down that rabbit hole. I also concur with a lot of the other comments, Jason Isbell's Elephant is worth checking out th-cam.com/video/ClugMhMbrRg/w-d-xo.html But really, more Jason Isbell in general would be nice. A few other suggestions John Prine (tons of good stuff) th-cam.com/video/J1EF9Q2m7pA/w-d-xo.html Pokey Lafarge th-cam.com/video/FXzEVLSoVqw/w-d-xo.html The Dead South th-cam.com/video/B9FzVhw8_bY/w-d-xo.html The Devil Makes Three th-cam.com/video/EL0au17MypY/w-d-xo.html Would also be nice to hear about how you guys became friends. Aaron Lewis, former lead singer of Staind, also recorded this song. I love his music, but it’s not as good as Chris’ version. You should check out Marc Broussard. Here’s a great recording of his. th-cam.com/video/kM2cTGDZoE8/w-d-xo.html
this is a masterclass in simple songwriting and metaphors amplified by his creaky, worn-down, heartwrenching voice.
This is the greatest song ever written period. It’s flawless on so many levels.
my favorite line
" I drink cause I'm lonesome and I'm lonesome cause I drink". When you are an alcoholic, your questions go in circles!
I can definitely relatet Brother, probably my favorite lyrics evef.....unfortunately
When I was a substance abuse counselor I would ask, “Where you drinking while you were bowling 🎳 or were you just bowling while you were drinking?”
Anybody ever answer you about the stone on his hat? It's turquoise because.........Morgane loves turquoise. So much so that she has/had a shop in Nashville specializing in it.
By far one of my favorite songs! Chris is one of a kind. He has so many good songs. They always make you tear up😢😢
Chris Stapleton is a very talented song writer and singer. This is a song where you can see several meanings to the song.
You really can't help but listen to Chris and not just hear him. He truly has a gift that inspires people. Also love your show!
Thanks for doing these tiny desk reactions. The reason I was one of the people that suggested these is because of the audio quality and intimate setting. There are a lot of talented artists who have done these concerts and it gives you an added appreciation of their music.
Thanks for the suggestion, awesome by the way
Great job, Brian and Stan. Ya'll are excellent. Brian, I remember you from back in the day at Theatre 99 in Charleston. The Improvables. Good times.

The devil named music with the free bird or Tuesday’s gone intro!
Y’all should check out one of Stapleton’s buddies Jason Isbell “Elephant”. This song will mess you up...
Was wondering if you guys would do steeldriver "can you run" it's a band Chris Stapleton was in before going solo...the lyrics are very moving...
Speaking of OCD lol.....in every version that I've heard of this song, he always speaks, "That's the difference" until the last verse.
It really should be CDO in the required proper alphabetic order ... ;)
Check out daddy doesn’t pray anymore by Chris Stapleton
That song will have a person crying in the corner
PLEASE CHECK OUT 2 OF CHRIS'S NEW UNPUBLISHED SONGS AVAILABLE ON YOU TUBE STARTING OVER & RUN MAGGIE RU N I REALLY LIKE BOTH SONGS!!!! I WANT TO HEAR WHAT YOU GUYS THINK! BTW GREAT REACTION AS ALWAYS!!!!!

Jason Isbell, Elephant. Or anything of his. He's the real deal. Considered by most as the best songwriter of this generation.
Love Isbell, especially "If We Were Vampires."
JASON ALMOST AS GREAT AS CHRIS STAPLETON!!!!!!
th-cam.com/video/NaUCDqWzy1k/w-d-xo.html
In another genre but you should listen to Meatloaf's "Paradise By the Dashboard Lights," "Two Out of Three Ain't Bad," and "Bat Out of Hell."

He's telling a story, that line kind of reminds you of that

The stone is turquoise. Native Americans hold it in high esteem. It’s religious and gives protection and blessings to the wearer. It’s sacred.
