Windows 10X in VMware... almost

- Windows 10X has only been usable in Hyper-V and QEMU so far. It still is, but we're getting closer to being able to use it in VMware!

Windeploy DOES NOT EXIST IN 10X! Its wcos which is fully uwp based, it uses different methods. That loading screen also happens before the pc fully turns on so it isnt a fake bootscreen
I didn't actually know this! I assumed it was a similar thing to what is seen on desktop Windows

@@laglifeyeah that's true, the flashing explorer was caused by shellexperience. Shell experience is also in regular win32 windows, but is a UWP shell for explorer. Not just that but maybe Microsoft.Windows.Client.CBS uwp package exists there? It's just a guess bc of that 11 Taskbar and I don't have a 10X vm.

Here's how Windows 10X works: First it starts, then it loads, but it still stays on boot, then a black screen appears, and then ump oobe loads, it works like normal in Windows 11, and after installation, the ump explorer is loaded

Nice Video! I can't wait for 10X to be bootable in VMware. I've hardly played with 10X, since the Hyper-V on 8.1 doesn't work with 10X. I also thought 10X was ARM64, so how did you get that working?
it was never arm64 also upgrade your windows to something like windows 10 ltsc/ltsb 2015, 2016 or 2019
Actually, BetaWiki says that there was a version for ARM64 as well as x64. Also, I just like 8.1, and don't plan on upgrading anytime soon.
I open it with VMware and after loading, it only has one mouse. How to solve this problem?

Its really difficult to do but so far it worked ! But i think the issue of drivers or its environment to play on Hyper-V Properly (think i'm wrong)
10X cab files now became lost media.
Please share if you still have it, they deleted from Windows Update servers and now it can't be found anywhere.

You should try booting windows 7 on hardware that doesn't have csm capabilities. That would be a nice video

Pretty sure explorer can crash and restart for random reasons.
Have you tried toggling the "Accelerate 3D Graphics" option?
The generic display driver won't make use of it even with it enabled, and the one which can (VMware SVGA 3D) makes 10X fail to boot.
I did try enabling and disabling, nothing changes

Have to edit the vmx file. There should be a line that looks like “ethernet0.virtualDev = “e1000” “, just change e1000 to vmxnet3

yes its very secure and its usable just if people made enough uwps you can do many things i tried this before on hyper-v and edge gets stuck in version 90 something not the newest version.

His main pc runs kubuntu linux. This is a Windows 11 virtual machine.
