    I was giving this some more thought. I boat out of Rhode Island US. There is only one area nearby that could handle a yacht this size. A 36 ft beam is huge! Newport is the only place around here that would be able to accommodate that large a vessel. So what happens when you travel? I doubt that are many spots along the ICW that could put you up for a night. And what about hauling it? What kind of a beast of a travel lift would be necessary to pull it for maintenance? Seems like it would be a lot of trouble to find destinations where you didn't have to anchor if there were even room for that. Food for thought.

    I would love this boat if I was parking it in a marina or doing day or weekend trips but with all the loose furniture on deck and fly deck, one good rough sea passage and good bye pretty furniture. I'd prefer the furniture well secure and at least a soft covering around the fly deck. Then it may be better suited as a blue water cruiser. The present set up looks like a weekend charter party boat.. Maybe that is what they were going for?

      @@Coowallsky ~ Your sarcastic _"Still using playground cliches?"_ comment could only be construed as an attempt to belittle Joel's comment, based on _your_ opinion that the word "haters" is _"an overused and largely juvenile word."_ Maybe you meant it to be humorous, but it came across as simply being petty. It would be like me pointing out the fact that you left out the word "say" ( _"I didn't [say] a thing..."_ ) and misspelled the word "likeing" (it's "liking") in the first sentence of your last comment, and that you didn't capitalize the word "I" at the beginning of the second sentence. As I continue to contemplate this beautiful yacht, I have come up with another problem that is quite significant. The solid deck on the bow instead of the usual netting creates a potential life threatening flaw. In severe seas, it would act like a giant scoop funneling water to the recessed seating area. Send about 5 tons of water crashing against the door would undoubtedly smash the door in and let all the water into the saloon. There are no doors on the any of the entrances to the pontoons. The water would just poor right in with no way to stop it. I would think to call this an oceangoing yacht the following changes would need to be implemented: some type of wall between the deck and the forward lounge to divert green water away from that well, at least 4 very large freeing ports added to the front lounge area, watertight doors between the staterooms in the pontoons and a emergency hatch on each of the stairwells leading below decks. You can't just plan a vessel for the nice days if you intend to cross oceans with it.

    • @MrOlddave
      @MrOlddave 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It looks like I misspoke on the hatches leading below. It looks like there are hatches that slide out of the walls. I figured I would correct myself before someone else spotted it.

      I love that huge deck area, though. Might be worth risking death. I bet you could have some feature that opened it up some in heavy seas or made it turn into a slatted grill maybe. The promotional video shows a bunch of people dancing on it and, take it from me, giving girls room to dance is a good thing. Very good. Good, good, good.

      I think I read, or saw somewhere that approximately 10% of the boat's value is needed annually for running, repair, and maintenance. Of course this could vary depending where, when, and how often it is being used. This boat is roughly $4.5M nicely equipped, so annual costs would be around $450k.

    Huge deck areas. I was disappointed by the feel of the staterooms. Kind of cheap looking. Also, I was struck by the outdoor grille. Seems totally inadequate for the amount of people the boat could hold. Entertaining when food is served, would also be a problem because you would have to bring all the food up from the galley. Stairs coming and going. A dumbwaiter would make life a lot easier. I know most people that have a yacht this size would have crew to do the work, but to me, the best part of boating is being my own captain. If I can't run the boat, it loses 80% of its appeal. I would have the galley in the saloon and use the space below deck for accommodations.

      I thought the same thing about the interior finishes. Kind of stodgy looking on camera, but maybe it looks better in real life or perhaps you can specify an interior that is at least somewhat sexy when you spec it out. Otherwise, that interior screams adult diapers.

    • @davidnaismith2326
      @davidnaismith2326 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Looks like the interior of a Ramada Inn instead of a 4 or 5 million dollar yacht. I would like to see wood paneling. Cherry, teak, something that didn't look like drywall. I am also partial to teak and holly floors. Not the cheap fake stuff that is being substituted on many fairly expensive boats. I guess I am just a traditionalist. Kady Krogen or Nordhavn come to mind as nicely done interiors.

    This power cat is okay, but after you've seen the Iliad 70 power cat there is no comparison. Look it up on youtube and I think you'll agree.:)

      The Iliad is nice but lacks character. Everything is white where you look.

    • @sgt.pepper4274
      @sgt.pepper4274 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Coowallsky … the Iliad is completely bespoke. It's one's choice to make it as white as you want or not. If one wants a blue hull and teak decking throughout, it's your choice. The amount of living space for this size of yacht cannot be equaled, nor its ability to go long distances on a single fill-up. :)

    Cats are weird. Definitely made for entertaining. The decks are incredibly spacious - but quarters can be a disappointment. And a helm IN the main interior space-- oy! Docking and dock space are also a concern. It's a very small segment; that's why you don't see many. A very particular buyer.

      Interior Nav Stations are not that uncommon.

    • @silentstormstudios
      @silentstormstudios 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interior navigation areas are common in cats. I think just about every cat I've seen has one. It's for comfort of the person who is on watch in cold or nasty weather. They can navigate and monitor the boat from inside rather than having to be out in the elements.

      @@bobboberson2024 nah, in that first floor. The cabins are still close to those on boats of equivalent size. I would say the Aventura 14 has better cabin space than all planing hulls, and very similar to some semi displacement and displacement hulls
