Great video I have watched lots of IDF . However nobody talks about the brass valves behind the flat plate opposite the accelerator pump near the Venturi lick down hardware?? What do those do what is their function??
I have Italian 44 IDF carbs and one of the idle mixture screws has stripped threads. Any advice before I retap the M5 x 0.8 threads in carburetor base? I'm not that worried about new threads, I'm more concerned about damaging the seat of the needle. Thanks for any help.
@carburist OK thanks, I was able to run a tap through the threads, looks like it's good. I was told switching out the older style air/fuel mixture screw for the newer one would possibly work better. Can you confirm that? The older style have a shorter more blunt needle and the newer version is more tapered. Thanks for your response.
@@carburist Gracias. Aprovecho para preguntarte donde puedo conseguir revistas con esa información sobre carburadores holley en arg? Trate de buscar por Internet pero encontré poco y nada...
Very nice work. How did you trim the one side of the throttle shaft like that??
Put the shaft on an vice and carefully cut it with a dremel and cutting wheel

@@carburist how do you dm? Sorry
Hello, can this be remove edge of the casting in the top cover holes ? Weber 40IDF 13-15.
Yes! But better to use a trumpet
How much power do these support? Would 4 on a 4.5l v8 be reasonable? Approximately 230-250 hp.
Yes but you will need 35 size chockes on all of them and tune accordingly
@carburist you mean a set of 35 idf?
No blue Loktite for the internal throttle valve/shaft screws?
It was there probably not shown on the vid. You cannot record everything

You should be fine! Try and measure and put a stop or a mark in the tap
