12:20 I may have unintentionally figured out why. Hearing that sound made the family cats go absolutely bonkers, even Pip, who doesn't really like to come out of hiding throughout the day.
Bowser Suit in 4 is an interesting entry not only for what you mentioned but also because Waluigi is holding it in the game's box art. Kinda odd that something featured on the box art is so difficult to obtain to the average player
11:23 Actually in Mario Party DS it is very possible to see this message in regular gameplay. If you get the Stars for 5 Coins last 5 turns event on DK's Stone Statue, you can buy 99 stars with 495 coins, which is also very possible to get in regular gameplay, and then the next time you go to the Star Space you can see the message. It also helps that the Stars for 5 Coins event seems more likely on DK's Stone Statue than any other board.
i vividly remember in the mario party 6 demo that you could play at target had the minigame we know as "what goes up..." titled as "...must come down". and of course, the version of the minigame from that demo was the night time version. idk i thought that was interesting although probably not super significant, haha.
Other things about MP6 regional diffrences that i forgot to mention: In the European/Australian version, the time limit for Fruit Talktail is 72 seconds instead of 60. In the Japanese version, the mini-game Garden Grab uses daikon radishes instead of carrots. In the European/Australian version, Battle spaces have a lightning bolt on them as opposed to an uppercase "B", making them somewhat resemble their Mario Party 2 counterpart. The four luck-based minigames Same Is Lame, Trap Ease Artist, Pitifall, and Trick or Tree are not played in Endurance Alley in the European and Australian versions, due to...well, the inevitable possibility of the player getting unlucky and being forced to break their streak.- info from TCRF
I think the entry about violence in mini games is referring to the fact that many of the n64 mini games featured punching, kicking and butt bombing (lol) on other players which was pretty much entirely removed from later additions in the series. I’m curious to see if the new mario party will feature any of these “violent” mini games. I think not because Nintendo is pretty strict with their image these days
Possibly, however while the amount of minigames that involve punching and kicking went down over the years, there was always a few minigames that featured it in some regards. Also Nintendo made Smash Bros. idk if they are to concerned with the occasional punch to Peach's face
Chuggaaconroy knows all about the brokeness of Reverse Mushrooms and so does Jon unfortunatly for him. Also MP Advance DOES have a Multiplayer of sorts. Each copy of the game came with a foldout board pamphlet and punch out player markers. You would play a physical version of a MP board and play minigames on the GBA which you had to pass around.
literally takes 2 seconds in audacity to remove the bg noises from brighton and twilas lines but nobody seems to have replaced what seems to be the only accessible clip of them online with it,, so i did it myself lol
new entry idea that was just discovered: the MP7 8 player party ranking glitch. When there is a tie on 8 player party at the end of the game, the ranking will be overridden by player index. So if players 4 win, the ranking order would be 4,1,2,3 regardless of stars
It may actually be possible to max out your star count in Mario Party DS. On the third board, DK Jungle, you can buy as many stars as you can afford from the star space. In addition, if you land on the Bowser space, there's a small chance that the price for a star can be set to 5 coins (this can also happen in the final 5 turns, but having it happen early makes it easier to rack up a large star count). Mario Party DS had a maximum turn count of 30, and in 2v2 mode you earn 20 coins for every team minigame you win, not to mention the other ways that board likes to give out coins. Theoretically, it might be possible to get ~500 coins in one game, get the star price set to 5, and reach the star space enough times to max out the counter if you're playing in 2v2 mode with the maximum turn count (especially if you have a human teammate, as I never did playing the game as a child)
something I noticed but never see mentioned is that like the goomba house in MP2, in MP3 there is a cloud with a face on every board (in Creepy Cavern it appears as a cave drawing)
The MP1 Hidden Menu might provide a hint toward the context of the yellow "No minigame" state. The statistics for how many of each space each character has landed on are labeled by a single character. ? for Happening, R for Red, B for Blue, ! for Chance Time, M for Item, and K for Koopa (Bowser). But there's also a Y in there that's correlated to the Single Player Minigame spaces. This implies to me that either the game at one point had Yellow Spaces that would be neutral compared to Red and Blue spaces by not giving or taking any coins but were later replaced by the Solo Minigame spaces, or the Solo Minigame Spaces were originally yellow in color and would give the player the yellow state after landing on them. The latter might make some degree of sense if the devs wanted to use these spaces as a means for less skilled players to quickly gain an advantage over the other players as they'd essentially get a free-win minigame on a turn nobody else did.
I play mario party weird. I always try to collect as many coins as possible before the game ends. No stars, that takes away my precious coins. I only spend coins on boo bells or dueling gloves, or whatever else gets me coins. Love me them coins. Dont care what the result screen says, if I have the most coins, I win.
I bet you would hate playing Windmillville in MP7 or Koopa's Tycoon Town in 8, as those board gimmicks results in having to dump most of your coins into windmills and hotels
I don't know why they removed the voices of Brighton of Twila. They sound absolutely adorable to me, and I can't stop listening to them. I think having them would've made the game more memorable than it already is
I thought Demo Title Screen referred to the fact that there is a demo movie of some gameplay when you boot the game before you press start (similar to what the Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros games have), which I don't think are in other Mario Party games besides 5 and 7
The triple 7 on mario party 4 maybe do a reference to the classic jackpot on the slot machines were if you get triple 7 you get the big prize in this case 50 coins
This video is good but I wouldn't really consider it an iceberg video. It's more of a random trivia video. There's a fine line between them but I'd say the line does exist
Now that you mention it I probably should have. Didn't think to add them when writing this because I've played so much and seen them come up enough that I assumed they were well known, but to everyone who only played a handful of games it is possible to never see these appear
@@GK_GotKilled yah the wacky watch is fairly uncommon but the barter box and the koppa kard are very very rare. Not sure how many corrections you received but you Amy wanna make a second if you can. if you ever make another follow up, MPDS has a fully fleshed out board for a tutorial featuring a toad statue. however, it's only seen on the tutorial, so being playable is likely only through cheating :(
Hi Gk, I found your channel and thought it was really cool, but I wanted to ask how is it that you're able to play Mario Party with your friends online? is it with a specific emulator or some other program? I really want to figure it out so I can do that myself with my friends
Yes, we use a modified project64 and dolphin. I have some info in my discord, but the mario party netplay discord is focused on it, with lots of setup support. Also, parsec is also an option but i swear by netplay
If I didn't get extremely lucky that one time in Boo's Board, i probably would've been in the large group that didn't know about the Bowser Mushroom in MP4. It's kinda cool, but why is it so extremely rare?
iirc, in Mario Party 4 the bowser space only had a chance for bowser to show up occasionally when landed on (it's usually a koopa kid). On top of that, the bowser mushroom was the rarest event bowser could trigger. So a rare event was hidden behind an uncommon event, which results in a needlessly rare chance to happen
Oh, and one thing that should have been added: in Mario Party 1, during Bowser's "chance time" (when you land on his space), there is a golden option that you can get (right?), like "100,000 coins" (or something like that). What would actually happen if you got that through hacking?

But when you mentioned the Boo spam, that's when it was thrown out the window. Now I see why Nintendo never brought it back.
Bringing it back to Superstars will still be cool. Like they can nerf it by only letting you go back up to 5 spaces or just make it rare like the double star card
