Another weird thing about the Iranian Spongebob dubs is that one of the dubs created a music video using unrelated footage of Spongebob and Patrick fighting and used the clips to make a propaganda video for the Iranian military telling young kids to join the military. I tried to find a link to it but I wasn't able to, I do recall seeing it in the comments of the original upload of the Spongebob in Tehran video.
I know I’m late, but that’s kinda what happens when you have a show run for 20+ years. Not all of the episodes are squeaky clean and some of them are bound to retroactively make others hit differently than they did before.
@@generalgrievous69 so I remember thsy appearing in my recommendations it was some commentary channel. I was quite freaked out until I found out it was a placeholder
The line is "any port in a storm," a fairly common expression meaning "taking whatever is available during a difficult time". During a storm, if a ship can find a port, even if it's not the best city/location, it's better than being stranded at sea. Kind of like "beggars can't be choosers," I guess, but with a nautical flair. It makes sense for Mr. Krabs' character. In the context of the episode, he's already been through a bunch of letdowns and the previous scene has him being confused with a club being named "The Wash". He's willing to look past the goofy name because he thinks they might actually finally be getting to a fun, young person place. I know icebergs are 99% memes but that's an insane stretch.
@@Cadency Man, that skin theory video was haunting my recommendations for what feels like months upon months So I guess you were making this video for a long time Good on ya' for the effort put in
16:10 - Any port in the storm is a common phrase regarding drinking/partying. Say the alcohol isn’t your favorite, but you drink it anyway to accomplish the task at hand.
When asked on Twitter about the storyboards, Vincent Waller wrote "I believe that was a first pass at the story, but the entire alien cat storyline was later tossed out and rewritten." However, according to an interview with Tim Hill about the movie, the reason why this storyline was scrapped was because "the previous script was a bit too far-fetched." And that "Steve was always a fan of grounded, relatable and simple stories.
I love that you chose to do a commentary channel even though you have to deal with all these comments about the way you speak. The way you pronounce words is very smooth (almost slippery? if that makes sense) and pleasing to my ears.

22:50 I remember seeing a comic someone made where pearl’s mom (giant whale) was in a net and wasn’t going to make it. So Mr. Krabs took Pearl and raised her as his own daughter.
From what I remember on a wiki, red mist was made by an animator to air over fear of a krabby patty, the first episode of season 4, the strangler was the last episode of season 3, the last episode Stephen worked on. So red mist was made by a new animator of the show, this adds to the creep factor of red mist.
Even if it's not that dark comic where Pearl's parents are killed by whalers, I think it would be nice to see an episode where Mr. Krabs adopts Pearl as a young man. Being an enlisted sailor in his younger years (which I will assume is tantamount to being a regular soldier in our world, cause you know... underwater), he could've easily found an orphaned whale while on deployment and decided to take her in. It's stated in the training episode that Mr. Krabs fell into a deep depression after he returned to civilian life from an unnamed war, so maybe he adopted an orphaned child from that war as a way of finding closure? Just my own idea.
- Gets to the point quickly - Doesn't spam "Like and subscribe" - Funny creative ending - Chad motivation behind the creation of the video I bow to you Cadency.

Regarding fitting the characters into sins: Firstly although traditionally lust is taken into sexual representation, traditionally lust can be described as a lot of forms of desires. Spongebobs joy and indulgence in simple pleasures can be viewed as a form of lust. Personally I think Squidward represents pride more then wrath, given that he consistently holds his own standards to be pretty high as an artist among other things, and much of his sources of anger and other emotions can be attributed to pride. Sandy isn't that much fitting as wrath either, but especially in earlier episodes she's had her fair share of well, inflicting wrath and rage upon others like the texas episode, hibernating sandy, the air breathing one, etc. As for Patrick, while he is lazy, more often then not he's shown to be more of a glutton when it comes to eating. Sloth and Gluttony can be interchangeable at times, but Garry being a snail could very well also attribute to just, naturally being a sloth.
I wrote an essay for school once, relating SpongeBob and the seven deadly sins. "Aristotle had once defined lust as excessive love for others. Using this definition, SpongeBob definitely fits the category for the sin of lust, as he loves everyone in Bikini Bottom." Or sum shit like that.. I was told it was the best essay my teacher had read and then she failed me 🤣
I'm surprised A Day With SpongeBob was so high up on the list. That rabbit hole literally has real world prostitution, money laundering, a legitimately unsettling song thing, and is just an overall creepy experience 😂
I’m surprised “The Great Jelly Rescue” isn’t on this iceberg. It was 4-D movie shown at some aquariums. It was about Spongebob, Patrick, and Sandy stopping Plankton from kidnapping jellyfish and using their electricity to destroy the Krusty Krab
It's creepy how his voice gets less energetic every Layer, showing its creepiness and its darkness. Edit: 2 years later, this comment is awful, how is SpongeBob creepy and dark? Edit: 3 years later, I drink my own urine from time to time.

The 9/11 relationship to Just One Bite is kinda iffy. There was plenty of animated media depicting violence and explosions at the time. I think your initial explanation is correct, where Nickelodeon just didn’t want to encourage children to ignite gasoline.
If you think about it, the iceberg format is perfect for SpongeBob. Lots of weird stuff, and the water theme and all. Here’s one related to dubs - In Brazil, SpongeBob’s VA also dubs Goku, Jackie Chan and Robert Pattison.

Actually in the episode "selling out", during Mr. Krabs's musical number, he looks through an old photo album showing him raising pearl from when she was a baby, so more than likely he adopted her when she was young
If you watch the episode where plankton plans a jailbreak, you’ll notice there is a male whale that looks exaclty like pearl. Could be that her father was in prison and something happened to the mother??
Actually based on another YTuber's theory, Mr.Krabs was jerking and a whale dove next to him pussy first.

@daniellefleming5956literally like... she asks for money because thats her DAD and normally kids/teens who cant/dont have a job will ask their parents for money, especially if they like to go to the mall with their friends like Pearl does
I’d have included how the casting of Ernest Borgnine and Tim Conway as Mermaid-man and Barnacle-Boy respectively, is a reference to the 1960s TV show McHale’s Navy (in which the two actors starred)

*we don't talk about that year-*
The line is "any port in a storm," a fairly common expression meaning "taking whatever is available during a difficult time".

From what I remember on a wiki, red mist was made by an animator to air over fear of a krabby patty, the first episode of season 4, the strangler was the last episode of season 3, the last episode Stephen worked on. So red mist was made by a new animator of the show, this adds to the creep factor of red mist.
I've scoured the comments looking for this, but do people not remember that mr Krabs found pearl abandoned and took her in to raise her?
Ive only seen the fan comic abt it
I wish that was cannon
The late Stephen Hillenburg knows that fan theories can be the only canon for finding answers in the show.

Regarding fitting the characters into sins:
Firstly although traditionally lust is taken into sexual representation, traditionally lust can be described as a lot of forms of desires.
Gary also eats a lot
