Although I'll never make such involved upgrades to the Bomber I just ordered from my local hobby shop I appreciated the general knowledge gained from this video as well as the solace garnered from hearing that the Bombers standard transmission is a reliable one. Knowing that the Bomber also has some history and there is a strong 'aftermarket' is also reassuring with respect to the money spent.

Cool upgrades Josh on a Bomber ,but I'm seeing tons of dollar signs $$$ ,I'm curious long run if all the upgrades really pay off are they really necessary vs a few inexpensive upgrades

Looks good, however I’m not a fan of you moving the shocks out side of the double shear mount with in the lower trailing arm. You have know created a single shear mount witch can greatly increase the chance of that lower shock mounting bolt to break and also letting that lower shock heim joint to snag of obstacles emphasizing the possible failure of your mounting hardware. This is coming from a guy who has done a lot of fab work on off-road trucks.
With the bottom shocks in single sheer you may have issues with the screws snapping. You are putting all the load in just one place right now, rather than spreading it out over the entire distance tween the two sheer points it had before.

I am using skid and gearbox from wraith, they are with low LCG but more central.

Because I don’t want a narrower axle or portals on a bomber.
He just modified it to bring the center of gravity way down and forward - portals would raise it back up again...
I've put a standard 3 gear transmission in a bomber, one thing I had to do was get a longer driveshaft.
Yer make'n it like really hard, my plan was ta leave my new bomber alone but how can I with all this cool new shit. This thing is gonna be one serious beast on the the trail. Between her class II, her woods runner, n now this beast, it'll be near impossible decision to make each time you go out the door as to which truck to take. Nice problem to hv.

josh i picked up the high altitude transmision motor plate now do you use the spring with the spur gear or not it dont seem to fit on the shaft i ordered all the parts you listed?
Did you order the incision slipper eliminator? If so then you do not use the spring as it eliminates that mechanism.

I do not understand how you did I put the same suspensions on mine and since I have no more rear suspension stroke it does not go up with the yellow springs and the oil 35 how you did lol

I don’t know how I feel about all that carbon I know that I personally have tumbled my bomber down the rock cliff at axial fest last year and I feel that I would crack or break the back half of the cage I like the stock cage so it bends instead of cracking and for rock racing I feel like that motor would be in danger with my driving style and slamming rocks 😂🤦♂️ great video josh
I know what you mean but at the same time, this isn’t a new product. The guys that have been dominating with these trucks have used them for quite awhile now. I think Jake (Del Monte) has been running this setup for several years, and we have seen his success in so many types of driving.

So other than adjusting and getting the right links and rod ends is the rest pretty much bolt on.? An where is there any info on how to assemble this type of transmission if I never have before. Iv had a bomber for long time fully built and I’m really interested in doing this. Seems like such a great performance addition. Thanks
Yeah it pretty much bolts in, assembling the trans portion is pretty simple but I don’t really have a reference for the assembly. I doubt you’d have much issue if you’re used to working on your RC though.

Any chance Vanquish would come out with a VFD type transmission kit for the bomber? These garage built kits are hard to get a hold of. No response from this "company" of numerous attempts to purchase.

@@miketye2805 I did, I asked about the kit, they answered then I gave them my email and asked for a paypal invoice and then nothing. Maybe their getting bombarded with orders or questions and they didn't see my message but I hate to push people to take my money.
def1too thats funny they maintained great contact with me and I even asked 100 questions and they promptly answered all of them. An then said just pay to their pay pal and it was down. He said their waiting on skids to get off the printer but that shouldn’t matter. Just send another polite massage

A wraith trans with a forward motor mount plate does the same, for much less. Change my mind. 😆
A wraith trans with the High Altitude skid is an option also. But if you dont get the skid than you don’t get the geometry adjustments for the upper or lower mounting points.

3D printed transmission housing? Hard pass. At this point it looks like you could have installed a VFD transmission with your own custom parts.
