Flynn's Arcade assesses every episode and series, with reference to seminal tome Go Team Venture: The Art And Making Of The Venture Bros.
This time: Dr Venture goes to the North Pole to take part in a super-secret think tank with Professor Impossible. Meanwhile Hank gets accidentally infected with the deadly Goliath serum, and Sally Impossible takes a shine to Dr Venture, possibly seeing him as her ticket away from her terrible - and murderous - husband.

IMO this episode is the darkest in tone out of all the episodes in Season 1. Professor Impossible really is a nasty piece of work and I am looking forward to seeing him get his comeuppance.
I am always trying to improve my production standards on my videos, and this one has a different look to my previous videos. 👍

Your reading of Doctor Venture is a more generous than mine... I don't think Sally being married was really a factor in his revulsion (after all, he'll later have no qualms whatsoever about hitting on Dr. Girlfriend at her own wedding in the season 2 finale), I think that, being freaked out by her ghoulish appearance aside, he sees how desperate, needy, and clingy she already is after just meeting him and is afraid of another Myra situation-- which, of course, we don't know about until well into season 2.
My favorite part of this episode is the open-air hover car ride that Prof Impossible takes Doctor Venture on... the whole time he's having this menacing conversation on his way to abandon Doctor Venture to his death in the middle of nowhere and Doctor Venture can't hear a word of it. 😄

Thank you so much for your kind words about the look of this video. I think you are right about him mostly being turned off by Sally's desperate behaviour as opposed to a genuine respect for a married couple. Although, I will raise fact that I believe Dr Girlfriend at least partially reciprocated Dr Venture's feelings towards her, during the "Charlene" saga, which is why he is somewhat justified in his interference in her wedding. His genetic similarities to her husband, are a factor, which I can't ignore.
For reasons I can't quite fathom, I am always looking for the best in him, although I have already recorded my video about "Past Tense" when I call myself out in this video, but I haven't posted it yet. I completely contradict myself in that one.

@@FFlynnsArcade She does tell the Monarch that he and Dr. Venture have a lot in common, but I think the differences are what make Dr. Venture repellent to her. You can definitely see it in the later seasons that she's lost her patience with Dr. Venture's attempts to flirt with her.
He's not a good person, but he does have some good qualities that shine through from time to time, so it's easy to like him as a character even if you wouldn't necessarily like him as a person... which I think goes along with what you've said about not liking Baron Ünderbheit or Professor Impossible, as they're just one-dimensional and wholly unlikable.

I took it as being Rusty's cowardice, he's a coward and Mr Impossible is very dangerous (and his boss).

@@phookadude yeah, in hindsight, I was probably wrong to attribute chivalrous motivations to Rusty. He very rarely demonstrates any of them, so it would be strange if he did this here!

@@derekrichardson9105 I spent a good few minutes of my life thinking that Rocket was Dr V 's baby. That scene isn't that confusing and it is a big source of personal shame that I couldn't figure out what was going on there. One of the biggest mysteries of the Venture Bros is trying to figure out who everyone's mum and dad is. One of my favourite fan theories is everyone with red hair is a clone, including Molotov.
