Glad you are already looking forward to season 2. Season 1 with it being so old, and emulating the style of a show from the 70's, always brings fear that it will put off a new potential fan. Henchman 21 is definitely my favorite.
I'm *always* happy whenever I see a new fan of the show, I think you'll really enjoy season 2. You'll have to let us know who your favourite character is at some point, mine is absolutely Dr Orpheus!
Have a GREAT TIME! Don't forget to catch the specials in order where they go, because they do make references to them and reveal important info in secret (especially the Halloween special, and All This And Gargantua-2). I don't have people watch the pilot when I show them lolol and I feel like the show really starts to pick up around Ghosts of the Sargasso. (This series is incredible. I rewatch it all the time. Stuff really hits it's groove in s3, so I don't think you'll be leaving then haha) GO TEAM VENTURE!
That was a great breakdown my guy! Season 2 is one of the best imo. Favorite episode has to be Escape from the house of Mummys part 2. I'm excited for your journey. If you make it to seasons 5 and 6 it gets... weird but season 7 somehow makes them retroactive gold. Excited to follow your journey venturoo!
The reason why I love this show is because its one of the only shows that care about the fact you care. I would say everything in the show is what I love about and that is true but the thing I said earlier really tops everything for me. You really can't find this anywhere else, GO TEAM VENTURE!
The Monarch isn't the arch enemy of Venture. He THINKS he's the arch enemy of Venture. At least in the earlier seasons. I haven't watched past season 3 yet. They address this in the episode where he kidnaps the sons.
He doesn’t have exclusive arching rights from the guild in the early seasons. But he has arching rights. He’s an arch. Even in the early seasons. Hell more than he is in some later seasons when he doesn’t have arching rights.
Telling you The show gets AMAZING from S4 and beyond, a lot of changes go through in that season, not that the show isn't good before S4, but that season elevates the show a lot
I think what really made me decide to get "INTO" Venture Bros was the debut episode of these four characters: Catclops, Girl Hitler, Manic 8 Ball, and Baron Ünderbheit. By that point I knew this universe had no limitations lol, and in a way that was less crass, crude, and distasteful than something like Minoriteam or The Ripping Friends.
With all the references to “Seinfeld”, I’m a bit disappointed that you said Brock Samson is voiced by “Joe Family Guy” (which is funny), when you could’ve said he was voiced by David Puddy.
So about the Monarch not showing up every episode. He was originally intended to be a villain of the week that would probably never show up again, while Baron Underbite I believe was intended more to be the main recurring antagonist. But pretty quickly, the creators realized that the Monarch just kind of clicked with the vibe of the show while Baron Underbite never really did. One very quickly becomes a central character while the other slowly just stops showing up.
VB was always going back and forth with their korean animation studios especially in the early seasons, there's an episode in season 2 where the animation got really screwed up
Yeah I noticed in some of the clips that show up from later seasons that the animation gets a major bump down the line. Pretty excited to watch the transition as the show goes along.
I do think the first season is probably the most quotable season, not to say the other seasons aren't funny, its just a different kind of funny. Though I "they hit me with a truck", "ignore me", the whole yardsale episode, the "channels crazy dead people" bit and, basically anything doctor Orpheus says are great bits. I do think that most of season 1s story kind of feels like it meanders a bit, it hints at some things that will be important later on, but I'm not sure it hangs together the best, and like you said you can see some of the cheapness of the animation in the first season.
Love this show. The consistency with the worldbuilding is constant. The characters are well written and memorable. Season 2 is by far my favorite in the series. Though some argue it gets better every season. Hope you enjoy.
glad to know someone is having the exact same experience as me. for some reason my country only dubbed the first three episodes and now I finally binge watching after years of hearing about it on the internet all the time
So also, one of the episodes, I don't remember if it's season 1 or 2, but the show becomes the lyrics to The End, by the Doors. Also the scene where the boys get shot is a play on the final scene of Easy Rider. The show is dense with references.
My son was just home from college and we re-watched it for his 3rd time. I've rewatched the show countless times. I will say, all of the characters grow and evolve over the years. Some more than others. The animation definitely improves. The world gets bigger. I don't want to spoil anything so I'll keep it short but there are multiple occasions where something happens and you think, "well that was an amusing throw away joke" and YEARS later it will have consequences for the overall story. If you do decide to go all the way to the end, make sure you watch the Christmas and Halloween specials, the movie that takes place between season 5 and 6 (at the appropriate time of course) and top it off with the movie "Radiant is the Blood of the Baboon Heart." That provides the cherry on top of the Venture Sundae.
When I recommend this show to other people, I always tell them the same thing; "Binge the first season and a half." The Venture Bros is one of my favourite shows but the overarching character story doesn't start until the end of season 1 or even really pick up until the end of season 2.
The Monarch is my favorite. Tho there's one episode where I'm, like, No Thanks. It's a device he likes too damn much. Waaaay too damn much. That's all I'll say about that. MFer I love this show so much and am Pissed AF at whomever is responsible for giving it the axe. Fk that person.🤬👎
Also, s6 and s7 have my favorite episodes. You have so much good to look forward to. My fave characters across the whole show? Of the ones you've met: Dr. Girlfriend, the Monarch, 21, Hank, Dr. Orpheus, Brock. Have you met Col. Gathers, or Dr. Killenger? I am pretty sure you haven't met Jefferson Twilight and The Alchemist. Really excited for you to meet a certain s6 character. Ugh there's so many good ones!!
season 1 is really good, season 2 is my favorite (escape to the house of mummies part II is probably the best episode of the series), season 3 and 4 are a'ight, stopped at season 5.
NGL, I'm not saying this just to hate, but just as a warning? I guess. I almost clicked off your video because I thought you were a text to speech AI at first. Idk how you avoid that, just letting you know.

Henchman 21 is definitely my favorite.
For whatever it's worth, The Monarch & Dr. Venture have "similar" voices, but are voiced by different people.
Love this show. It's the only show I ever watched that didn't have a bad season.
It doesn't even have a bad episode. Hell, doesn't even have a mediocre episode.
I'm *always* happy whenever I see a new fan of the show, I think you'll really enjoy season 2.
You'll have to let us know who your favourite character is at some point, mine is absolutely Dr Orpheus!
Dr. O is great, honestly. Love how insanely dramatic he gets.
So far I think the Monarch is my fave, him or Billy Quizboy.

Good call out on the specials. This series is at its best with a longer run time

Well that definitely has me curious, but I'll be keeping an eye out when I get to that point.

there's absolutely a few distinct inflection points to this show, season 1&2, season 3&4, season 5, then seasons 6&7
I’m looking forward to hearing your reviews in the coming future.

rusty is actually the best dad on the show
until we meet Red Death

Poor Baron Underbeight was the one who never got his day in the sun.
I'm glad that for "The Hardy Boys" you used footage of The Hardly Boys from South Park lol. That's literally what I know The Hardy Boys from.
One of my favorite shows from my childhood.

favorite character in any media is easily Henchman 24. Love that guy. I used to have a picture of him framed on my desk
I love this show because it evolves. The lore deepens every season. Its a shame its cancelled.
So also, one of the episodes, I don't remember if it's season 1 or 2, but the show becomes the lyrics to The End, by the Doors. Also the scene where the boys get shot is a play on the final scene of Easy Rider. The show is dense with references.

Venture is the absolute greatest show to grace television.
can wait to see season 2

The Venture Bros is one of my favourite shows but the overarching character story doesn't start until the end of season 1 or even really pick up until the end of season 2.
Oh yeah in the movie it's revealed why the name of the series is called the venture bros
By season 2 , I was hooked
The Monarch is my favorite. Tho there's one episode where I'm, like, No Thanks. It's a device he likes too damn much. Waaaay too damn much. That's all I'll say about that. MFer I love this show so much and am Pissed AF at whomever is responsible for giving it the axe. Fk that person.🤬👎
Max had it on for years and Hulu

season 1 is really good, season 2 is my favorite (escape to the house of mummies part II is probably the best episode of the series), season 3 and 4 are a'ight, stopped at season 5.
Finally watched it
Great show
Dr Girlfriend
Brock
My top favorites
Is this an AI voice narrator? I feel weird.
NGL, I'm not saying this just to hate, but just as a warning? I guess. I almost clicked off your video because I thought you were a text to speech AI at first. Idk how you avoid that, just letting you know.
Make a human noise in the first 10 seconds? Laugh, cough, fart, something lol. Idk.
I’m excited to follow your journey.
While it's not spelled out in the early seasons, the titular "Venture Bros" aren't necessarily Hank and Dean (or rather JUST Hank and Dean).
