Edit: Apparently fudgemuppet made a video on this 2 days ago? Didnt know that. Anyway I am currently on holiday and this video was preproduced several weeks ago, and been working on it for several months. Patreon supporters can confirm as they have had early access to this video for about 2-3 weeks now. But I guess these things happen when you both fish from the same lore pool 🤷🏼♂️ The thumbnail for this im really happy with ngl.
Thanks for the compliment! I tend to do these narrations the same as I do the physics lessons I give to my students (I am physics teacher)… if only the students thought the same and always found it interesting haha
We don't see the Alfiq outside of Elsweyre 'That we know of' any regular cat in the world 'could' be an Alfiq pretending to be a house cat, it's the ultimate mental gymnastic in the lore
About the voidnights, seeing as it was so important that the moons came back I would guess all Khajiit births during this time were either stillborn or normal cats both would be horrible to them. Or my favourite theory: They were too close to becoming Dro-m'Athra having been born in a time of primordial darkness without the cleansing light of Jone and Jode
I feel like if a Khajiit horde was assembled with an appropriate degree of unity and discipline, containing the various furstock of Elseweyr then that would be a terrifying and nigh unstoppable army to meet in the field.
I can only see that in a potential single player Elsweyr expansion of some kind. But even then, it's so inconvenient on the developers part, it would just be easier to make the standard Cathay for the Khajiit as they always do. I also highly doubt we will ever get a dedicated game to that location anyways, but who knows. I could be wrong, however reason why I say that is because Bethesda wants to attract as many new people "normies" as possible, and the easiest way to do that by far is advertising their games as epic fantasy adventures. A potential Elsweyr and Black Marsh game are the only ones where it will be very difficult for normies and new players to get into since it's just way too foreign for those outside the fandom. Unless they do something like a Valenwood/Elsweyr combo map for example, I just don't see it happening unfortunately...
@@tigervalley62 Nothing to do with "normies", finance department knows trying to appeal to the tiny furry population isn't going to sell enough product, so it's not worth the effort. No one wants to plat cat simulator. It's also not worth the amount of players that will abandon the series due to furry pandering. You'll be lucky if you get to choose between common usual khajiit and the anime cat girl form. Besides, imagine having to re-record an alternate dialogue for literally everything and everyone, a completely unique player skeleton, a complete balance overhaul to compensate for a giant tiger that uses no armor or weapons, and completely new animations just for one of 12 subspecies of just a single race out of like 10.
If TES6 has multiplayer, playing as a Senche would be awesome for co-op. It'd basically be like being a permanent short werewolf and rideable. I imagine they'd have to handwaive gear equipping difficulties, and retailoring mechanics would have to be a consideration, it'd pair well with most other races and classes though (2h warriors especially, if TES6 has riding combat). I hereby disclaim any ownership of these ideas as property of Bethesda Softworks and related companies, go nuts Bethesda!
It's just wishes, but if TES6 takes place in Elsweyr, it'd only make sense to go full into all furstocks. Would also be a great way to introduce other Akaviri beastfolk as well. Possibly a dwemer DLC? They have the world at their fingertips, just gotta pull the trigger
bro imagine a side quest meant for really low level characters. some kind, but old ohmes lady, wants to get her alfiq grandson out of a tree. it isn't until she opens her eyes in shock, that the player finds out that she, too, is a khajiit. or the alfiq straight up calls her grandma. 😂
Almost makes me wonder if there is some ancient magic permeating the Khajit, given that one of their furstocks is almost mer-like. Maybe some bosmer way back when dabbled in some forbidden magics to gain the agility and dexterity of cats, and something in the magic connected them to the moons, which is why the different furstocks exist.
I've heard the speculation that if the Thalmor cuessed the void nights it may have been to create an army of forgotten mane khajiit. Those born under an eclipse but who don't become the mane. An army of them that is it the void nights count as an eclipse
It might be some kind of mandela-effect but I KNOW remembering from some text before skyrim came out that the destruction of the heart of lorkhan caused the two moons (his body) to slowly desintegrate. Scholars could even see through the moons with their telescopes. But since this was pre-2011 information, I have not found the text since then.
I love cats ( my favourite animal in real life ) so it`s no big suprise that Khajiit is my main race and favourite in every Elder Scrolls game, so to learn about all their races was really interesting and how their are born. Thank you so much for making this video, if i could i would support you on Petrion but i do it in the future. Have nice day and if you want Skooma i can give you one for free my friend :)
With the void nights, the likely answer would be either all new births were stillborn or the Kahjiit just ended up infertile. But if Bethesda wanted to do something horrifying and interesting these births could result in Kahjiit that can’t hold one form, kind of like the pre-Y’ffre Bosmer
Weird that their physiology depends on under what moon they are born rather than what they were conceived under. Either all babies would need to look exactly the same at birth and then develop very differently as they mature or it wouldn't make sense for a couple day's birth delay to then somehow entirely and rapidly morph the existing frame of the baby in the womb. That would all require some crazy levels of magic to be involved in the birth of every Khajit.
Like the only book I ever read in Skyrim was about this, I'm actually glad I did, because it definitely boosted khajit (however you spell it) up to like, my second or third favorite race
Great info, thank you! May I be so bold as to request, the next time you do a video like this, could you put the name of such things on screen, too? I’m pretty sure there isn’t a doggie furstalk, but that’s what CC interpreted. Would be extremely helpful for someone such as myself who isn’t as knowledgeable about these things! 💗
If they are born during the day, the moons would still be in a certain phase on a different part of the planet even if it's not visible or touching down on Elsewhere etc which would make their connection to the moons even more strong for it to impact their birth even when not being in it's light or it being on that side of the planet etc. Very Interesting to think about thank you!
If the first stock born when both moons are in the new phase is one of the most common and maybe light does have something to do with it and any khajiit born during the day and maybe under cloud cover would be of that fur stock

Oh thanks you made it a lot easier for me because not being a native English speaker I couldn't distinguish the words well from each other and therefore I couldn't understand the name of these races
These different types are interesting but the real khajits I want to know about are the ones on Akavir. I mean their leader is apparently an ascended dragon tiger god basically at this point? I mean could it get anymore bad ass than that?? 😅
This probably one of the few retcons I can appreciate in The Elder Scrolls lore. With that said, Dagi and the Senche-Raht are my breeds along side Ohmes who resemble Bosmer.
Where does the majority of lore for this topic come from? I know ESO had a lot of it but I feel like Moonpath to elsewhere came out before eso since it was an earlier mod in Skyrim’s lifespan, and it had several different khajit types
There is a daggerfall era text, i forget the name, I believe part of the empire pocket guide? Which has the majority of stuff on the moon phases. If you want my specific sources can you email me? Then ill look on my pc when I get back home from holiday as rn I have nothing on me sorry.

I’d like to play an Omus-Raht (spelled wrong) just so I can be a Kahjiit with a tail, but with human customizable faces and face paint.
I'm pretty sure "Raht" translates to "Great."
I think I recall this from an ESO mount description paragraph.
i will say that i really wish they would make the Pahmar-Raht playable one of the few truly barbarian look in that game series.

That's a fantastic name, like you're meeting a cat, catyeet
When the Alfiq is talking smack: *cat yeet*
Would love a witches themed video - dealing with what it means to be a witch, covens, druids, Wyrd Sisters etc. :)

8:32 Senche-Raht, Masser is full, Secunda is waxing, bigger but slower, shorter and straighter body span, increased muscle mass and raw physical strength, strongest breed by far
10:05 Alfique, Masser is waning, Secunda is full, house cat sized, can speak, gifted in magic, do not like being mistaken as house cats or strays, however in times of war will pose as house cats or strays to gather intelligence as spies and informants

11:51 Omas, Masser is “new”, Secunda is full, look nothing like the previous breeds and most resemble the bosmer, aka the wood elves on the outside save for their internal biology, often paint their faces to look more cat-like
12:34 Omus-Raht, Masser is “new”, Secunda is waxing, essentially the same as their non-Raht counterparts, however they have tails, and very light fur
13:43 Daghi, Masser is waning, Secunda is “new”, more rare phase of Khajiit, lynx like in appearance and shorter and lighter than most bipedal Khajiit
