Brilliant. After leaving the military (more of a meritocracy than civilian jobs but still has the same politics) and going into the civilian workforce I ran into everything you spoke about and I tried to fight it with my ego. I was fighting an uphill battle. I really enjoyed the detail you went into and how you summarized multiple laws of power with general real life current issue that everyone faces and can relate to. I also enjoyed the way you gave the landscape of the other works that intertwine and the fact that laws don't apply all the time and it requires critical thinking and finesse. This video gives a great perspective and I will revisit it anytime I feel that I am "straying from the trail" and need to go back to basics and regain focus. Subscribed.

I'm an idealist that is getting older. When i first heard of the laws of power, I hated it and thought that the idea of constant manipulation would be excessively tiring.. Later, in the work force I realized how really really bad it would be if I were to out perform my boss at their job and other things that coincide with the ideas of power. I hate that the tid-bits offered are true. I'm an open and honest person but I hope that I can somehow navigate through these enough to reach what I hope to become. Thank you for presenting this talk with heart and relatabiity. The idea of wise navigation sits much better with me than blatant manipulation. To note, I don't recognize when others are putting me in "power games" so it is good that I learn what they look like since I in all earnestness do not seek such things.

No matter what lonely mountain top you run to to be “apart of” you’re still a part of the rat race. The trick is to not be “that” part. If you’re alive, you’re part of society, but society wears many faces, many ever unseen by the mainstream. It’s often our unmet (possibly unacknowledged;unconscious) needs for connection, acceptance and/or to know we exist through he reflecting-back of our peers, at odds with our desire to be the free-acting individual we want to be, that creates the friction of being in the world.
I’m not sure if I said this all that well, apologies if I am not articulate enough to communicate what I mean.
No wonder I have so much frustration in the work force. This is spot on advice to live by in the corporate world.

I applied the 48 laws and I am about to master coordinating each law with specific situation and particular timing.. in the beginning, I felt somewhat amoral but when I got sure that all people around me including family and friends applied power laws to destroy me or step on me , I felt relief and freedom to join the social game ..
I can't count the number of times I was told " you have changed " !!!!!!! ... you know what, the most joyful feeling in the world comes when you turn the table and watch your opponent mesmerized

Haha, we're truly a horrible people. After so many generations, most people are still morally bankrupt. Merit will still never get you anywhere. Social manipulation and bulltshit power games still get you everywhere.
How do you sleep with the knowledge that every single one of us is shitty? Hell, war only ever stopped when it killing someone to take their resources became less efficient than trading with them.

I'm always checking my ego these days at 27. I use to get into stare offs with random guys I felt were testing my masculinity by them keep staring at me, and also ending debates early by letting the other win when it seems to stop being an informative convo and more of a ego debate to quiet the other, and also not wearing loud clothing and such anymore and tight fitted shirts being some "pretty boy." For the woman. I see so many things boil down to ego, dissolving my ego was probably the greatest thing I've ever did.

I don't believe there is anything wrong with being the shit when you can. In fact wearing edgy tighter clothing with a pleasing physique will separate you from the undersexed masses of betas.
This is dealing with "big ego/authorities" not everyday chumps.
Yes stare downs are silly. No one knows there place. All humans have superiority complexes and are insecure. So dealing with others egos is pointless. But dissolving your own shouldn't be encouraged. You should be competing with yourself and relative to other men.
Workout harder, study harder..etc. And carve out your own kingdom with your own workers(peasants) and plenty of mistresses, and gold(cash) and become a prince in your ownself.
This is about getting along in a work enviroment(modern day court) not everyday life.

Subscribed, this helped me a lot to really do some self inventory. I'm an honest person but at times I can be blunt making some think of me being an asshole.

Let those feel envy. I own my businesses so in work life I have nobody that I answer to. I had no master to outshine because I built everything myself. No need to look to others for guidance when I hit my goals on time as planned even ones I set 3-5 years out. I suppose my attitude is why I was so horrible working for others. It’s amazing though once I started for myself I blew past others that had been in business for many years within 6 months. Just saying screw playing politics to move up in life. Just kick down the ladder everyone is climbing then pick it up for yourself and walk away with it. Most people who play those games are incompetent anyway.

@@Haykke I wrote this over a year ago. I still agree with this statement 110%. Most people are completely incompetent in life and just follow what other people have done. Plus they are scarred they will fail. Ironically its when things are in chaos with business that I really love it. Processor shutdown, websites down, issues with shipping and so on. I love that part of it. Its when things are going smooth I go nuts because I can't stand not to be doing something productive. Thats how I ended up with 2 more businesses now because the other ones were going smooth. So I worked on other ideas to bring them life.
Most people think I am an arrogant asshole. Which is great because then all those insecure or jealous people just naturally exit my life without me even having to notice. Fucking awesome and could not ask for more there. Now the people who are around my life are strong minded driven individuals. I dont think I can name one person I am close to that isn't successful in their life. My mother thought she was going to use me for money and I was done with her. I refuse to used and anyone like that I will disappear out of my life. She lives 15 minutes haven't seen her in a year. I think I made my point very clear. That saying you become your friends is true to a point.
There are endless opportunities all the time to make so much money its insane. You just have to create your own path and get rid of anyone that even slows down progress.

@@Haykke lots of mistakes that I learned a lot from. Marketing was my big issue. I solved that about 4 moths in. In all honesty I had a regular job but I had started a line of products with my buddy. So it got to the point that I was making more money 1 day a week than I made in a month at that job. So I started skipping 1-2 days a week to focus on that. The funny part is I got a raise because on the days I skipped I brought in a doctors note. I literally missed 1-2 days a week for 4 months. Then I took vacation to go on honeymoon and never when back. Except in a this custom tailored suit to tell them to their faces I would not be back. I wanted them to know that no matter what I was better than them and I knew it.
Promoton was the hard part for me. I can build things in my mind and project out 5,10,15,20 years seeing how everything lines up easily. Getting it out there was the hardest part. The second business was much harder to get out there. I didn't stress though because I was already averaging 8-14k a month. Third business was too successful and got our processor shutdown. We had 28k in sales in first 4 days. That flagged the card processor quick. Yeah lots of issues along the way but if you see them as challenges and actually enjoy solving them its easy. So much easier than trying to be nice to incompetent people who kiss each others asses.
I never had an issue speaking up. So I caused lots of waves at the place I was at.They had a meeting to tell us our healthcare benefits were going to shit basically and tried to spin it positive. In a room with 200 people I raise my hand and ask "healthcare cost is a write-off for any business which lowers taxable income. So where is the money actually going that you are refusing to pay for our current healthcare plans and why should anyone in this room believe these so called facts when anyone here can see that your costs are tax deductible?" This is why they couldn't wait for me to be out the door.
You're doing a great job! I love your channel! I guess this format is easier for you because you don't have to draw, which takes less time. But if you do draw, not only is entertaining but some people can "visualize it" better.

Thank you so much! I have always been a person of benevolence thinking it would bring me all kinds of success. Now that I'm older and wiser I realize how that's not true. I find it very difficult to accept this truth and times to a degree of anger towards myself for being so naive. But on a positive light your videos are helping me to understand the process of the changes that must take place in how I must now think and behave. Just very thankful and by the way I enjoy the format and by using close captions it helps to study and note take on this very valuable knowledge. Continue your good work it is making a difference. I know for me it is.
This vidoe/recording is so accurate to the situations that I have experienced in so many working environments. Being creative and having charisma is my personality trait and is hard for me to conceal, therefore it is transferred to the job, however jealousy from my coworkers has always been a byproduct. But I am learning so much from this video and I will try to apply given this new job that I am starting.

As for the format... both are great in there own way. In life there are pros and cons.
The graphics are very cool to watch and admire. The point comes across more effectively as well. The down side is that it takes longer for you to create the content because you have to draw it and what not. But that is not to say that this videos format doesn't do this as well. It's letting me experience the wisdom in a different way. (Which was nice) It almost felt like a guided meditation. I'm definitely gonna be showing up to your channel more often.

I am an individual who works hard and learns quickly. I have made the mistake twice of making my authorities feel threat by my hardworking ethics. This did cause me to change jobs because I moved up too quick. With my current employer (who is also the second time I made this mistake) I remember the situation from my last job and I prevented the results from that mistake. You hit on a lot of great points and I am very interested in learning more! I would like to know how did you become so well aware of the things you discuss in this video? Please forgive me if my question is ignorance, I am new to your channel.

I want to understand what exactly happens to the one who has been bullied, and why they continue to act weakly? I have many friends who have told me they were bullied when they were young, and until now while they are in their 20s, I can see that in them, I mean the affect and their low self-esteem and confidence.

I prefer this version ,in the animated videos the topics are discussed in a superficial way ,this version seem more articulated but i suggest to make them shorter or devide them in parts ,because you have to take in mind that this is youtube(the place of shallow entertainments where people come only when are craving for dopamin ) and i dont think that anyone here can concentrate for long periods

Interesting video. It makes me wonder about the future of my own big ego.
I was taken over from my previous workplace by a fresh new employer who promised me higher payment and I have been working for him for few months, yet now he pays me just as much as previous one. For a while he paid me more for projects and now I settled into a regular schedule which somehow meant to him I should get my old salary for my old tasks.
Most of the time i spend with him is in his car while he drives me workplaces. If we are alone I easily connect with him and his mood becomes elevated, he always mentions bonuses and praises me. In those cases I also laugh at his jokes which are rarely funny just because it's our one on one time. Talking about future and ideas feels good for both of us.
When others are present (people who work in management below him, other people in my position, his wife) I usually mind my own bizness and don't bother participating much and rarely laugh at his jokes (often about himself being handsome, pattern that his younger sidekick quickly adopted) - there are others who will laugh politely and mechanically but loud enough - as loud as my silence when I let my mind drift away. I never noticed that pattern much or never thought it really bothers him so much. In the end, I am clearly a well chiseled "myself", anybody can see it.
I see now I choose to withhold my approval and praise whenever more people are ready which must hurt his big ego in a way. It satisfies me to starve a big boss ego while being good enough a worker not to be in danger and have other people praise me to him. But now I wonder if I laughed at his jokes while his minions are around maybe I would be getting paid more.
