I came back here just to say I did watch the show….its mildly better than you’d think, only because it does have genuine cool lore and bits that can be used, in context, to expand the games and give more context to those. The action is, of course, cool as well, and the Spartans are actually really unique and fun to watch, but other than that its pretty unforgettable
If I were to summarise Season one, it would be, wasted potential. Its got some good bits, but upon reflection its terribly neutered. Hopefully season 2 is a major improvement. From what I've seen so far, it likely will be.

But after season 1 turned out to be the biggest show in the platform’s history the budget for season 2 will be expanded big time. I have faith that season 2 will be better even though I thought season 1 was still kind of decent. It’s nothing like the games, but was still good as its own thing.

I abandoned this series halfway through the first season, however the new season looks intriguing so I figured fuck it let’s catch up with a recap. Wtf did I just watch? Why is there is such a heavy emphasis on visions?? Why is there a love story with Chief that doesn’t involve Cortana? This is bad fan fiction Recap was well done though!
I feel like an echo but I would have never been able to make it through this. I barely made it through the last season of the witcher. Hollywood sure knows how to take beloved series and royally screw them up for the sake of "entertaining a broader audience" screw the millions and millions of loyal fans....
They decided to go 100% CGI instead of using any practical effects, and it looks terrible. I guess it would be somewhat excusable if the story was any good.
