    The most important step is rolling them thin. This also doesn't work with rice flour, it crumbles and breaks before you can even make a tortilla. Hope that helps someone not waste substitute flours because most probably won't work.

      For rice flour tortilla you need to put the flour in boiling water then cook it for few minutes on low heat.

      Really enjoyed the video but you said "4 tortillas or 8 tacos" which doesn't make any sense. They are tortillas either way, you're either making larger tortillas or smaller tortillas, taco is the name of the dish (cooked food in a tortilla). Kind of a minor point but still, rubs me the wrong way. Great video otherwise! :D

      Sustainably Vegan this is the same recipe my grandma taught me when I was younger. You can also roll them out and fry them to make sopapillas. They bubble up and you can dip them in honey or whatever soups your eating. So good

    wow even your units are paleontological!
    I've got this to work with:
    210 g flour
    1 dL water
    4 g salt
    35 g olive oil
    4 g baking soda

    This was my very first zero waste video I watched. Since then I was instantly drawn to the idea of living more sustainable and eco friendly. After that video, I kept searching and informing myself in terms of the zero waste community :)
    It all started with this....
    I'm so happy I found out about the zero waste movement, it changed my whole life around :)
    Thank you for that :)

    Great video! I'm not much of a tortilla expert myself, but I've heard that letting the dough sit 30 min or longer after kneading it helps it "solidify" more and not stick as much :)

    I am very excited to try this! The ones from the store are not only wasteful but have like 50 ingredients! So- how do you make your own thumbnails and banner on TH-cam? I thought you had to have like 100k subs to do that.

    • @SustainablyVegan
      @SustainablyVegan  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah no as soon as you start a youtube channel you can do that, the only time you can't make your own thumbnails is when you have copyright claims against your channel!! I know I can't believe how many ingredients are in the store bought ones, its scary !!!
