What an amazing piece of machinery. That's one lucky guy to have it and the fact that he doesn't treat as some beauty queen but actually uses it. Thank you both for sharing this awesome vehicle. God bless and stay safe.
Great video and a different class of machine, fits in between a land rover and a unimog. Used to see them regularly years ago, James Jones & sons was the dealer for them in Central Scotland and they were based about half a mile from my house in the 90's.👌
We were parked next to this at the Old Point House in West Wales in the summer, and I took some photos of our van next to it cos I'd never seen one before. It's even more impressive in the flesh. Great to see it in action, great video 👍🏼
what engine is in it? It be cool to extend roof up and behind rear seats wider base then put a 180 window set up at rear for view so basically you in a larger camper base light and strong and get a log burnerlol. so you basically max out the ultimate overland larger rear camper space with view
Unfortunately not easily available in the UK we have found. If you have any links to those brands for the UK however we would love to check them out. We've had Redarc but not projecta and enerdrive 👍
A truly awesome vehicle, but with such a high price tag, even for the ordinary ones, they will be out of reach. Unless I win the lottery. And yes, I am jealous. If only I could get portal axels for my 101…..
I visted couple with touchest Mercedes camper van made from german military rig! They were from Germany travelling too Washington State then down to cobo. I saw them again on their way back to Washington State, across Canada back to getmany! They had a great looking, strong, RV f om German military, xheck them out!
Not that much in all honesty, a different body, 5 speed manual instead of a 4 speed auto gearbox, suspension was raised and even more heavy duty (from the 6x6 variant) air-con, a snorkel which it wouldn't have originally had, carpeted front cab, some weird box section on the rear bumperettes, and a crude 240v system. Oh and Whitehall's number written on the inside of the rear door!
@@TheAdamsOverlandCompany thanks for the answer. I know how competent and sort after the ordinary ones are so I would imagine these are pretty special. What were they used for? Is there a story for the phone number?
Surely the victron Orion is overheating as it’s boxed in with the inverter, needs airflow around it? Could be wrong just from what I can see on the video. Absolute machine though 👌
During the Africa trip there was no box around the unit and it still over heated. We have since added the box and fit the thermostatically controlled fans and it seems much better although we haven't had the same heat in the UK to be 100% sure. We now use Renogy as not only is is more "plug and play" it comes with built in fans 👍
Somebody didn't watch the videooo 😂 it's a Synergy mk1 variant, they made 6, only 2 are left. They did build a Synergy mk2 but they're all in Ukraine now so I'd say they'll probably never see a collectors hands unfortunately.
@TheAdamsOverlandCompany the dcdc with mppt has stopped charging via alternator even though there is 13.3v at the ign plug on the charger, it's showing 0v on dc home. Having experience of renogy customer service before when my lithium died I'm not even going to try contacting them. Ide rather pay the money and buy a different brand. The worst customer service I've ever experienced honestly.
@@zootlynch359 it is possible your DCDC charger has detected a spurious power surge and has turned off to protect itself, (like throwing an engine management code, there's a few reasons it may turn off) this usually can happen however if it's had a power cut from the starter. Try disconnecting all cables from the DCDC charger for 10 minutes and then reconnect. It's something I've never personally come across however I have read about it maybe a year or so ago, and this did completely cure the problem. 👍 It's worth a shot
Ok thanks, ill give it a go. the lithium batteries died a while ago and is a completely separate issue. I have however got the victron bits on order to replace. Thanks again, if renogy had customer service like you it would make things alot better.
It over heated before it was encased, its now encased and has thermostatically controlled fans to keep it cool. It now performs much better. I feel my point still stands however as other brands do not over heat encased or not.
Great video but I think your interview techniques need fine tuning, instead of telling him what he’s going to tell us, I think it’d be better if you asked what he’s done
Liam here ✋ I'll take the hit for this, I purposely asked Rich to point me in the right direction through the video, this was very much his bag and not mine the whole TH-cam stuff
Not all were built for swimming, only a small number for the marines were built to swim. Which is unfortunate as we would happily take it across the channel 😂
@@TheAdamsOverlandCompany The one's with sneaky comms cabins on which I instructed on wouldn't risk it, but the rest could unless as RAF my pongo trainers were settling me up for a fall ( or sink). Lol

Thank you, let us know if you ever need any work 👍
Great vid Rich, that is one awesome vehicle. More than a slight resemblance to a 101 but far superior.
I’m amazed Iv not baited anyone into that one yet. 😂
good vid thanks lee
Great video again 👏 although I do think Liam Jinxed himself hahaha 😂
🤭
Fantastic
I drove these while attached to 16CSMR... the best off road vehicle I've ever driven.

We have plans for a 6x6. 😈 give me 12 months to build it and you might be impressed 🔥
Dale at Haflinger Tech is definitely the man to speak to regarding Pinzgauers or Haflingers. I drool every time I go there.
It’s like a cathedral of Pinzgauers his place isn’t it 😂
Real shame they stopped producing these
Can’t wait for the defender 👍
On with it now
Great vehicle and great to see you supporting @veteransinaction
i seen a Pinzgauer 718 6x6 Box Body on the net. only if i had the cash. one day one day
If you think the 4x4 is the ultimate off road vehicle, the 6x6 is a whole other level!

Thank you for the pinz tour, nice location did you rent that 😮

You should look at something like an Anytone AT-6666 HF/CB radio Liam, it'll give you 10m, 40 Ch CB, USB and LSB.

after a pinzgauer it comes only a tank
I've had nothing but problems with the renogy equipment I've used, never again! 2x lifepo4 batteries died and a dcdc mppt not charging via alternator.
I would look into a route cause of these issues. To have 2x batteries and a DCDC charger fail is extremely uncommon, hope this helps 👍
@TheAdamsOverlandCompany the dcdc with mppt has stopped charging via alternator even though there is 13.3v at the ign plug on the charger, it's showing 0v on dc home. Where are you based? Maybe I could sent you the charger to pick apart and find out for yourself? You can also have one of the dead batteries
You reckon your DCDC charger over heats …….because you mounted it countersunk in a carpeted enclosure ???
It over heated before it was encased, its now encased and has thermostatically controlled fans to keep it cool. It now performs much better. I feel my point still stands however as other brands do not over heat encased or not.
