    Gregor and his team at SGB have been restoring a 718K for me for the last year or so. They are masters of the arcane art of Pinz restoration and great to work with. Hope to have mine by this summer!

    Awesome vehicle! Good luck on the project.
    I have a 1988 Pinzgauer 718K completely overhauled and turned into a camper by the original factory in Graz, Austria. Including upgraded transmission and turbo diesel engine. It drives fantastic. Even at 120km/h on the motorway.

    Can’t wait to see what you do, I’m building a camper at the minute and thinking about a motorbike rack but I reckon I’ll just get a bike trailer, and I’d run the cooking hobs off gas, you don’t worry about power then because you’ll drain the batteries quicker with electric hobs

      I hear you re the gas but im going for non gas and will use solar. This will prevent me having to get a resupply. I may carry a small gas supply for emergencies though. Good luck with the build Leo!

    Hi Ollie. I was recently working at carfest and there was a stand next to us selling roof tents that just looked better than any I’ve seen before. Their name is latitude car roof tents. Very cool stuff ahead!

    Hi. I have a Tuff Trek roof tent attached to my (modest) Suzuki Grand Vitara. Highly recommended. I've always loved 4wd vehicles from early childhood and the concept of Overlanding/Self sufficiency.
    Really looking forward to seeing how this progresses. And I absolutely agree - the Motorbike rack DOES need to make it onto the final spec in some guise or another!

    Hi. Really looking forward to the build process. For a hot water system, I went with Joolka. I've fitting mine to the back of my jeep XJ, but because there portable you can use it in and outside. Great for outside showers. Have fun with the build.

      @@BreakPoint01 yeah get it breathing good and get those exhaust gasses out and it will be an animal. Is it turbo as well? Or just naturally aspirated? There is so much room in the back for a really good setup. Induction is a great choice for cooker, doesn't get hot, it's fast,l and portable. You'll need some decent lithium batteries and a good inverter, maybe a few solar panels on top (you do have sun in the UK don't you ;P ) and you'll be set!!!

    Mate I have been working in the same truck for the last 18 months and have pic and can tell you the areas to look at. Water is an issue coming into the vehicle You must sort that out first.

    • @BreakPoint01
      @BreakPoint01  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Andy, yes thats correct! The water ingress is an issue, eventually I will rebuild the back but for now have to prevent further water coming into the composite.

    • @AndyWillmott
      @AndyWillmott 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    My choice of vehicle fir self build overland, coukd you put a wood burning stove in ?

    • @BreakPoint01
      @BreakPoint01  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you could. Im trying to go the minimalistic route here and have less gear that gets thrown around but would be nice. I'll certainly have a diesel heater.

      Iam still unsure about what I want ie caravan ,campervan, motorhome, I don't like the idea of not having a fixed bed the prices are ridiculous for vw campervan and don't have knowledge to do a self build are you helping out with this project also what site did you get your ambulance off please .

    Is it possible to covert this unit into a left hand drive? Seem to never be able to find this unit in a LHD. Well, disregard this. I looked at SBG, and it is possible however there website is absolutely useless! No prices on anything, they say they re-sell pinzgauers but nothing listed. Seems like a waste of money a customer time to even have a website.
