Just bought Undaunted Normandy and Undaunted North Africa. Played Undaunted Normandy first scenario using your solo rules. Was quite intense because I played honest. In the end both sides were pinned and all rifleman were killed and the Germans won by 3 to 2 objective points. It was my first game and I have to improve my strategy. I enjoyed it a lot.

looks like a great way to solo. forgot where I read it but imo, a superior way two-hand a game is to actually pick a side that you'll be playing as. this gives the added flavor of investment in one side and makes planning more tenable.
the key to playing the enemy, and this is the bit that I read, is that in everything the enemy does, you're making them act in answer to the question, "what's the WORST THING that the enemy can do right now?"
this creates a situation where the enemy basically has perfect knowledge of your intentions and plans. but imo, this is preferable to "trying to forget" plans of one side while playing the other.

All solo games require honesty! Thanks for the solo mode idea. I hesitated buying this game because it was 2 player only, but I'll add it to my list now. Thanks!

I played last night. Thing is, as you say, you have to be completely honest.
I don't like the random discard tor determining initiative because what you select is such an important decision. Even in the example, the Axis gave up the Platoon Sgt (9) and only got the benefit of going first. And while important, that is arguably the strongest cards.
Playing honestly, I took player selected initiative out of hand for player with initiative token. Second player then chooses. And while I have lost hidden information, it provides a counterbalance to initiative, i.e, you led last turn, I can choose to take but at cost of 1) using a strong card and 2) knowing next round, opponent will have the same option.
It worked well and I am definitely going to play again.

Thanks for this, Mark! Breaking out my copy tomorrow for a solo session whilst on lock down. As an aside, the penny sleeves you're using were causing me to cringe so much that I was considering sending you some premium sleeves to replace them with ;-)

Thx for your video. Great game. And the solo rules will come with "Undaunted Reinforcements" in fall 2021...

i did it the other way. when a soldier is killed, i discard ones from the discard pile first and the supply next. therefore, the cards in hand of the opponent is still untouched and remains a secret until the first side turn ends.

Great video! What’s the advantage of removing casualties from the reserve, compared to the regular order of hand/deck/discard?

I just got this game and this seems like a good way to play solo. But why remove units from the supply, why not remove the marker as if it was a player?
And what if you randomly discard the only playable card from the hand of 4, leaving 3 fogs of war? No player would choose to do that.
    Thoughts?

Quick question: so the player won’t remove a card from the discard pile when a soldier is killed?

I brought this for solo play, but it is NOT good in solo, no matter what you do you know what or how your playing the other side etc.
Its quite a cheap game so not worth selling, mines destined for the bin ouch.

BoNeZ really. You should donate it in these times if you don’t want it. I enjoy playing both sides in this game but, understandably it’s not for everyone. Please donate rather than give away.

@@NotBoredGaming I do and would if i knew anyone who wants it, i do sell and buy locally too, but second its not worth the trouble, ill probably end up doing what i usually do, when someone comes round to buy a game, i ll give them this for free, its what i do with my smaller games tbh.
