Very Clever stuff! Nice to see you incorporating the HX effects with the HX Stomp with MIDI no less. I remember seeing a video on the od HD 500 where someone had their DAW send MIDI changes to each parameter/settings etc...Meshuggah use this with the Fractal they used to use the Pod HD before. Can't wait to hear what weird and wonderful stuff you come up with looping on both units. \m/

Very helpful to me, as I've recently started experimenting with using MIDI functions on my Boss GT-6 to expand the number of buttons on my Stomp. I was able to set up its Expression Pedal to control a Volume Block, and a Wah Block on my Stomp. It's taking me a while to figure out what I want to control from the Stomp itself, and what I should control from an external MIDI unit. There is so much can be done within the Stomp itself, and that is always my first choice. Really appreciate your making this video. Thanks! 😎

Exactly what I intend to do, just ordered hx effects , couple of weeks I’ll get stomp to, going to add them to my Empress Zoia and Source audio C4 and ultra wave with a hub and hopefully hx effects will control all of them, I’ll setup presets as song titles in our set and fingers crossed everything should just change 🤣🤣😂 so helpful these vids mate. I guess I could use HX edit to backup presets in the set lists , maybe even set it all up with the app hopefully .
It's definitely much quicker to use HX edit, especially if you want to tweak both units at the same time. You can even copy and paste blocks between the units.

You have no idea how much I've needed this video, been going spare for a week not knowing how to stop the auto command to the stomp when I changed presets on the effects, surprisingly not alot of videos that explained this well. Much appreciated! Just out of curiosity would it be better to go out of the stomp instead of the effects (with stomp in the loop) if using them both together for gigs? Stomp has a dedicated output level at the end of the chain i suppose
Yeh there's a few different ways to skin the cat - I'm thinking that sometimes I might have a real amp after the Hx stomp, or another modeller etc, so I wanted something flexible
Hi, great video. I'm a hxfx user with a tube amp but thinking of getting the stomp & combining the two. I'm just getting my head around how best to use them (I'm useless with midi etc), in the video where you had the x3 snapshots along the bottom of the hxfx, was that to free up the hx stomp switches for either banking up/down presets or for toggling effects? Thanks.

I had just got the HX Effects, it’s currently back in the box headed back 🤷🏽♂️👽
The FX Loop on the HX Effects is too noisy to use that way, and I don’t want to run all effects up front or all in the rear, I wanted to have the stomp in the FX Loop of the HX Effects so I could run both sides, too noisy

Hey John. Cool video. FYI, The instants get sent on snapshot load, so if you happen to save your patch to load S2 on load after you set the instant(s) on S1, then unless you copied the instant setting(s) to the other snapshot(s), it won't work. It's a bit annoying!
Hey - I asked Igor (Line 6 Chad) about this and he said "Yeah, the best thing to do is to get everything set up in the snap 1, at least everything you want to translate across all snaps, and then set up the others."
Just got my HX Effects, have the same "Stormtrooper" Stomp. Can we still do stackable snapshots on the HX Effects? On my Stomp I was just using the middle switch to got from Snap 1 to Snap 2. Then that same button would take me back to Snap 1 from 2. Clean to dirty then I'd use my delay for a lead boost.
Can you program it so that you can control the tap tempo of the stomp from the hx effects?
So, after recalling a preset from HXFH to Hx stomp which is easy using midi instants, were you changing snapshot on hx stomp only or you were able to change snapshot on both units at the same time?
Think the line6 HXFX will go down as one of the best pedals of all time.
I am always looking for ways to include it in my setup.
How do I turn off snapshots? I just want to click mode then preset number and go right into my preset and see all my pedals. Right now I have to click mode , preset, and mode again. Thx in advance.
