VERY GOOD VID, YOUR APPROACH TO LAYING DOWN CARBON FIBER VINAL OR ANY OTHER VINAL FOR THAT MATTER MADE MY LAST FEW JOBS GO MUCH MUCH BETTER!! THANKS, MY HAT,S OFF TO YOU!!!
You have to remove the air intake and open the bonnet so you can wrap the vinyl not only up to the edge....like you do it with the chrome part or the air intake in front of the windscreen. And if someone cuts of the vinyl on my mini like you do, he would have touched my car once and not again ;-)
True, they are build in Oxford (except the Countryman and maybe some others). But i would call it more an English/German/French hybrid these days. The technic and the engine are very very similiar to BMW/Peugeot.
Use a couple of drops of dish washing liquid in a squirty bottle and spray it on the back of the vinyl (sticky side)Then apply the sheet to the hood. with hard plastic squidgy, starting from the center on a 45° angle draw the squidgy to the edge of the sheet, removing as much liquid as you can. End result, totally flat no air trapped and not pissed off. Do not do this on a hot surface as the liquid will dry too fast.
Well for one, it cost a lot less than having it painted and still looks professionally painted. Secondly, if you sell the car, the new owner can simply remove if desired. Just have the surface polished rather than pay it have it repainted. $ saved ☺
The first engines were manufactured by Tritec, a joint venture of Chrysler and BMW. Later minis have an engine of the PSA-Group insinde. Not a real bmw ;-)
For the record. BMW stands for Beirische Motor Werke and is defenitely an of origin german company. I also want to do my car but it has so many curves that it will be 300% harder than this video. Here the hood doesn't curve much.
Di-noc is not rated for exterior application on a vehicle, and a proper install with no stretch should not ever lift up especially in that area. We at CJC Wraps use primer on very difficult areas but we dont recommend using it on flat/useless places usually only use it on one or two spots on a whole car. get 3m 1080 carbon fiber, and a professional who's been doing wraps for a few years, oh and cutting on the paint. . . even as a professional I dont do this :( knifeless tape man, knifeless tape
I was planning on using that brand, type but I can't find 1/4" rolls to use on the outer edges, as most cars have. I would be turned off if it was not made and it could only be done by cutting it yourself, I think it wouldn't turn out neat enough. I see aftermarket carbon stripe kits which have it, and it's hard to understand how that would work unless there is clear film under the material. Please explain?
i have this bubbles problem when i installed the 3m carbon fiber on my car's hood can u please tell me how to install it with out any bubbles ? it pissed me off
I have to say your skill is freaking amazing. but I have a question, I am looking at doing my own stripes because i'm broke and my local shop is retarded and sucks at vinyl stripes. HOW would you go about getting the vinyl into a depth area like the trunk of a 96 ford mustang? I am ready to begin doing this, but i am really worried about the trunk.
could you make a video of that to show that you actually have something of substance to contribute? Do you believe that your comment contributes anything worthwhile? What were you hoping to receive leaving this comment?
3m primer on the paint? what if you pull it off, you ruined the paint job! It's 3m you don't need to put in on the top, only under the hood. Should use a soft tip squeegie as well because you just scratched the paint and the vinyl.. Otherwise it looks good!
Ecco come fare in modo che nessuno venga li! Nessuna pulizia delle supersici pochi istanti prima dell'apllicazione per eliminare le impurità! Actually, you can buy it on amazon, its 3M Di-Noc carbon fiber vinyl, and im pretty sure its the same as any vinyl wrap

Fantastic video guys, we use the 3M carbon fibre to wrap our clients cars and it always looks incredible.
Very cool, I wouldent have thought to do this how you did it. Think I'll do this when I put my own stripes on

definitely no ordinary vinyl graphic.

I would have aligned with the outer edges of the hood scoop

What about removing these? Is it also as easy as this looks?
not only would be better to put a tape in the middle?
I got answers to my questions in my previous post, but got another, is that the glossy or matte version?
