Well done Phil, I did this to the silver trim in my clk last year and I think it looks much better. I have black leather interior and the vinyl goes well with it ! I also changed all the interior bulbs for blue led ! U have red interior, what about doing red led lights ??
@arnietwo11 Thanks! I really enjoyed the piece of work and I'm happy with the results! You've gotten me thinking about LED bulbs, that would be really cool! 😎 Cheers, Phil
I am gonna do exactly the same soon. Thanks for the inspiration ! Only problem is here in Turkey there is a huge price difference between noname aliexpress type carbons (which actually doesnt look very bad but i cant trust quality for long term) and 3m 2080 (CFS12). 3m is 10 times more expensive. But i'll go with 3m i guess..
Thanks! I had the same dilemma. Paid about £80 (€95) for my 3M carbon film. Still got a lot left, enough to do the job again if I needed to. Just a couple of thoughts which might help you: First, The job, if you are a first timer, is very time consuming, therefore, you only want to do it once and the quality of the 3M product makes it more likely. Second, mine is lasting really well, it looks the same as when I completed the work. I think it will last many years. Hope that helps! Cheers, Phil
Thanks! Just be careful, the Merc Transmission service procedure is very specific to that particular transmission, can't guarantee if the BMW one will be similar or not. Steering wheel badge: I have a Beemer and a Merc on the drive, they spend most of the time glaring at each other... 😂
Phil I absolutely love your work here and the attention to detail! If I were to remove the trim and send it to you would you do mine (obviously for a fee)? I’ve a 2018 BMW M140i and the trim is piano black which is a nightmare to keep clean. Would really appreciate your help! If not absolutely no problem mate. Gaz
Hi Gary, thank you! Honestly I appreciate the vote of confidence but I wouldn’t trust myself on someone else’s pride and joy! Also, you may not have seen other vids but I have just had heart surgery, so I’m out of action for a while. 😔 Just a bit of inside info for you, this job was actually my first. Just extensively researched and a bit of practice. My advice, buy a small piece of film, some cheap tools and give it a try. Start with 1 small item like the door handle. You really can’t go wrong because worst case scenario, you just take the film back off of it and a very small piece for a door handle will only cost £10 / £20. Good luck, if you decide to give it a go, would love to hear how you get on! Cheers, Phil
@@ReviveMyRide Thanks for getting back to me Phil. I wasn’t aware of your heart surgery. I hope you are recovering well. I’ll give it a go when I’m back home from work at the end of the month. I’ll let you know how I get on. 👍
@@garyanderson2215thanks, would love to hear how you get on with it. Also, happy to answer any questions you may have! Cheers, early days for the recovery but doing well so far if a bit slow (I get tired after 5 mins of walking right now!)
@joshuagreen8033 Thank you! Sorry for the very slow reply! I ordered 1520mm (must be the width of a roll) x 1m and I only used about half of it. I bought extra in case I made a mess of it but tbh, you can't go wrong (unless you cut it wrong), you just remove it and try again. I got mine from Reflective Supplies and it cost me £85 but I think you could probably buy less (say £50 worth) and it would do the job. Cheers, Phil
Great stuff, Phil. Many thanks, keep up the great work and enjoy your beautiful CUSTOM ride in good health.
Thanks! I’ve got more plans for me little 1 series to personalise it a little more to my taste 👍
Thanks for this video , my daughter want to do this to her car and this has been a super guide , thanks
Great to hear! Glad it is helping you guys! I’m really happy with how mine has turned out and it is lasting well 👍

@@ReviveMyRide Thanks man !
Looks very good- I just do the same with my E46 touring.
What about the silver thing in the middle of the steering wheel ?

Great work and the wrap looks realistic. Is the wrap for external use as well as internal?
Thank you! Yes, it can be used for both 👍 cheers, Phil

Looks awesome, weldone 👍
Thanks very much! 👍😎
Hi Phil, great video. I might have missed it, but approximately how much wrap did this require? Cheers

Great tutorial, one thing i would add is pay the extra for decent wrap, the cheap thin stuff off ebay is a nightmare to fit!
Agree 100% I used 3M stuff and it was great quality! 👍
What is the brand of carbon fiver?
Hi, it’s made by 3M. Cheers, Phil
