    That's pretty slick that the manufacture included the imprint to tell you what bulbs are needed. A very complete tutorial Dave.

      Much appreciated Wyatt. Too bad that they cant put in on the outside so that people know before even taking it off. Best to have the parts in hand before doing a repair.

      I just watched this video and I'm getting ready to go out to my JL to add wiring for my trailer I just couldn't figure out how to get the tail light out.

    Wow, what an excellent and best video. I gave up removing the the wire harness. After watching 8 videos, your video was the only one that included a trick with the screw driver to get them apart. Thank you.

    Chrysler seems to love those locking electrical connectors. My JK was full of them- more than I saw on anything else other than airbag connections.

    Very comprehensive!! Looking forward to your next vid. Really enjoyed the PT cruiser series. Referred back to it a number of times when doing the job. Also the cylinder head removal on the V-6. The Fiat marriage seems to be a good one

    Hey do you have any idea why one of these tail lights would just randomly quit working?
    My wife has a 21 JL and the rear right running light led ring is no longer lighting up. The left side is fine and the brake, reverse, blinkers and blind spot monitoring all work fine. I tried disconnecting the whole assembly and plugging it back in to see if that would fix it and that didn't. Since it's just the running lights on one side not working I assumed it wasn't a fuse but checked anyway and the fuse wasn't blown. I'm trying to decide if theirs anything else I can try before I take it to the dealer.... I called for a quote and they said if the whole assembly is the problem it's 900$....

    Great video, what’s that engine in the background going on?

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure which engine you saw but I have two.....the 5.7 Hemi and the 3.6 Pentastar. Neither is going into a vehicle.....I use them mainly for videos showing repairs. Also have a 62TE trans for the same reason. Its hard most days to film on actual vehicles like I use to so I use these when I can. Thanks for watching and for the question.

    Good morning David. R the 2014 minivans using direct injection and have there been intake/carbon build up issues?

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Morning Bill. Only engines we have currently with direct injection is the diesels and also the new 4 cylinder for the 2018 Wrangler. Otherwise all other gas engines still spray fuel into the intake. No carbon issues on our end. Thats the best thing about not having direct injection.

    Do the new JL's have an optional blindspot sensor built into the tail lights like the latest RAM trucks do?

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just looked it up and both sensors will be mounted in the taillamp just like you described. Theres always something new to learn and this was something I didnt even realize until you asked. Thanks for the question!

    • @813Productions
      @813Productions 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      MotorCity Mechanic I just remember learning that the new RAM's had it then when I watched this video I started to wonder if they decided to implement the design on other Mopar vehicles. Good info to know! Thanks for looking into it!

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I keep getting blind spot and parking sensors mixed up....seems they would be the same but obviously they arent so I always assume bumper. I usually dont learn anything until I have to repair it lol. Thanks again for following the channel.

    I wonder how long it'll take chinese aftermarket suppliers to make that LED assembly...

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I bet they are on the market already lol. You know how Jeep Wranglers are....everything gets swapped out with something aftermarket. The owners love to personalize their rides. Thanks for watching!

    • @enzzomolinari6805
      @enzzomolinari6805 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Too much money for plastic bolts..... I love my 2013 Sahara steel bolts on everywhere and I can't believe that keep using bulbs instead leds...the head lights are led...why backup lamps doesn't have led

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I feel the same way but will wait to pass my judgment until I run a across an issue where it becomes a problem. Time will tell for sure. Then again.....how many times does the taillamp get taken off in its lifetime....4-6 times maybe? Still would like to speak to an engineer that had the final say in it to see what the reasoning was. Thanks for watching and for the comment!

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True......you would think by now that LED would be the norm. Odd that as you saw in the video that the rear side marker is. The headlights arent LED either on the JL....at least not the models that I have seen....one step forward.....two steps back lol.

    • @enzzomolinari6805
      @enzzomolinari6805 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree with you David....but I saw another version the JL with Led ligths in the JL journal channel, by the way for that price maybe a couple of Dana 60 😀 ...long life to the MotorCity Mechanic

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am sure they will have different trim levels with different features or options for sure. Much like the 8.4 touch screen radio is only avail on certain levels from what I am hearing. Yeah it seems the price keeps creeping up and up lol.
