Here's an interesting story about when Doomsday was momentarily good. There was a comic series where Gog (aka Magog) killed Superman's family and captured Superman, making him his eternal prisoner, though he had convinced the world that he killed him. After this, many heroes rose up to wear the mantle of Superman in order to bring down Gog, effectively creating a Superman war. The war lasted for ages allowing Doomsday to become smarter, more inspired and eventually the leader of the army where he fought for justice and freedom like any other hero. At the end of it all, Doomsday rescued Superman, but a ton of damage had been done in the process. Gog and Doomsdays met face to face with Gog admitting that what he had done had caused a devastating chain of events, but with his current power he could undo it all via time travel, the only catch was that meant Doomsday would no longer have a purpose to fight for Superman and would go back to being a monster. Doomsday believed that Superman was needed more than him and effectively sacrificed his sanity so that Superman could go back to being a hero. Gog did his time travel thing, effectively wiping the war and good Dommsday from canon.
I don't really like how New 52 handled Doomsday, or how they killed him off for good. He was conceived as Superman's opposite and equal, embodying everything Superman is not. Superman was adopted by a loving family who taught him morals and compassion; Doomsday had a father who was callous and emotionless. Superman never uses his powers to kill; Doomsday does nothing but kill everything in sight. Superman is defined by his morals, which are his greatest strength; Doomsday is completely amoral with no concept of right and wrong. Superman has good friends who can comfort and console him; Doomsday is solitary and alone, seeing everything as a threat. Superman holds back because he's afraid of hurting innocents; Doomsday fights completely unrestrained. The two characters are literary foils to each other, and there was a lot of potential to be explored, so I dislike stories that treat him as a monster of the week. Doomsday symbolizes hatred and rage, which are not things that can be eliminated, only controlled. The one thing that finally changed him was when he developed sentience and emotions, which he ended up sacrificing for Superman's sake. That's what I consider a full arc for a character who was created to kill Superman.
FrozenWolf150 thank you finally someone who thinks like I do :D I kindda love histoire ruthless beast side, but i think deep down there's some kind if feeling except rage maybe ? Btw when did je sacrificed himself for supes ? :)
I like the origin where doomsday was born from krypton, makes him a superman villain, and also proves what happens when an overpowered superman was evil
I always appreciate how you put your sponsors very briefly at the beginning and advertise them at the end. you don't make us wait like a whole 5 minutes before the video actually starts
You left out a key part of his origin story and how Doomsday became so powerful....every time the creatures on Krypton tore Doomsday to pieces, his father would recollect the genetic remains and resurrect him and release him into the wild again, only to be killed again. But each time, Doomsday came back stronger than before until eventually he lasted longer and longer in the wild, even killing a few of the creatures before the rest took him down. Finally, he killed all of the creatures on Krypton and then turned on his father.
Season 8 of Smallville was very dark, but I liked the fact Sam Witwer created a person you could actually empathize with. And I hated that he had a cheap death considering how much we emotionally invested in his character.
I don't get how they fucked this up so badly, it seems a bald guys blood combined with a kryptonian produces the same results as countless deaths and adaptation
lairdriver Not quite. It only takes non native scientists several decades to create doomsday on ancient Krypton with the help of pre historic Kryptonian DNA. Yes Doomsday is very old- but not millions of years and did not evolve after his several decade creation. It is stated in the Doomsday Comics that he was created about 250,000 years before normal Kryptonian humanoids were around and was locked away for that time before escaping, wreaking havoc on several worlds before making his way to Earth. I would safely put him at around 251,992 years old when he came to Earth. Basic knowledge from a true Doomsday fan. The movies and TV shows totally distort the original comic book character Doomsday in a disgusting manner that I'm sure that any true Superman/Doomsday fan would agree.

What if... There was a Doomsday clone that doesn't want to kill things. Through some methods (this is a comic character, people can make it up, maybe he assimilates with Superman's mind "Superior Spider-Man" style) Then we have a kind, caring Doomsday that wants to help people while also battling his natural instinct to kill and destroy. It could make for an interesting story.
Great video. I'm glad you pointed out the fact that Superman and Doomsday beat EACHOTHER to death. Often, when the death of Superman is discussed, or even mentioned, it seems to be said as though Superman was the only one killed in the battle. Even the title of the story at the time, "The Death of Superman" implies it. Let's not forget, along side Superman's body, was the body of Doomsday. Only Superman possessed the power and strength to stop Doomsday. A battle that went on for hours/days, punches that shattered building with their sound waves. Yet, we are to believe that a man, a human, Batman, should stand a chance against a demigod. Armor, kryptonite, an attitude, doesn't make a difference. Just saying.
+Louis Riehm If Lex Luthor, arguably Supermans most infamous villain is on more than one occasion capable of killing him. Why would batman not have the tools to do so?
You can blame Lois and Clark, the new adventures of Superman, for the reason doomsday was created. The reason why is because when DC and ABC reached a deal for the new show, at the same time, the Superman creative team was trying to map out the trajectory for Lois and Clark getting married. The higher-ups wanted them to get married on the show at the same time as the comics, which required a number of seasons to build a relationship that point. So they had to scrap it entire year of stories to accommodate. And since Jerry Ordway, joked "let's just kill him," at the Superman summit in reaction, they decided to show the world what life would be like without the man of steel.

Doomsday is old school Tonka tough. You don't have to be a fan of his, but you know he is as durable as that metal dumptruck that has been sitting in your backyard since 1986... :)
Doomsday may be powerful but he has a brain of a peanut and only one objective murder, murder, and murder. He is described as being a soulless killing machine and has been shown to be tricked into going into the phantom zone. All the avengers needs to do is outsmart Doomsday like asking Mr. Fantastic to open a portal to the negative zone. Yes, he once punched a hole through the phantom zone it could be different with the negative zone. The Avengers don't need raw power to win even then the ones from the comics have Mr. Fantastic and Hank Pym on their team so if any case he can be shrunk down to the size of a cockroach. Even then the bifrost is capable of transportation, they could teleport him on a planet without any life. Also God like beings such as Ghost Rider and Doctor Strange exist and if you're wondering Zarathos the being that is allowing Johnny to be the Ghost Rider is capable of beating Mephisto in his own dimension so in other words Doomsday is not going to be able to go full rage mode as you might think he might be able to beat most of them but their quick thinking and power houses like Scarlet Witch and Ghost Rider would be too much for him.
You really do have to feel bad for Doomsday because at his core he is deeply traumatized from dying over and over again by his depraved creator Bertron, is it any wonder why he ended the way he did? At least he got revenge on his creator for what he did to him.
Doomsday's mutated bone claws can cut through superman's skin. But he can't cut through wolverines claws... Unless he dies by the claws and adapts to the claws to match the strength.
BatForce no caps shield is made of proto adamantium and vibranium wolverine claws are a different type of adamantium plus hulk one time ripped wolverine in half
Heres a little bit of fun for you. Imagine Doomsday vs any character you want, then imagine that character kills doomsday and you have to come up with an idea for how doomsday is going to beat that character when he comes back to life, since one of doomsdays many abilities is coming back and not getting killed the same way twice and even adapting to take out what previously killed him. Example: Doomsday got beaten by martian manhunter but then came back with the ability to breath fire to counter Martian manhunter. and for the record it's not limited to DC it can also be Marvel characters like the hulk or whatever, you get the idea.
So wow, if only the Abomination would of been allowed a storyline like this vs the Hulk as his ultimate villain. I still to this day think Stan the Man would of wanted that...Great video as always though, keep it coming;)
Wow! My first job back in NYC in 92 was at a comic book store and the death of Supes was a hot commodity! miss those days, doing the convention thing at the Javits!

@Protocol Infinity you gotta read some comics more my friend. One, Hulk DID pick up Mjolnir one time I'm a fight with Thor. He did almost kill Wolverine in World War Hulk where he returned to Earth to get revenge on the avengers for sending to a gladiator planet (the planet in Thor 3) and beat the hell out of Bill Ray, (basically a Thor copycat)
He can become immune to about 99% of everything but when you got someone who could destroy you completely down to a molecular level with just a thought, then it's safe to say that you won't be coming back from that lol
The Death of Superman was the very first comic I've ever read. When I read it, I didn't understand the significance of Superman's death, I thought he was just a really strong man who saves people. If I knew the stuff about Superman I did now, ngl I probably would've cried.
thomas adams I like Marvel too nothing against it the whole Marvel vs DC thing to me is dumb I enjoy the stories and both companies have great stories, I love Iron Man, The X-men and prefer the Avengers over Justice League, I just love Batman the best out of all of them. He's just my favorite hero
Doomsday is as strong as he needs to be because he can adapt to any power that is a threat to him and soon become highly resistant even almost immune to any power against him so basically he's unstoppable and he will always come back from the dead resistant to what killed him so basically you have to find new ways to kill him and the longer he fights the stronger he gets and the more useless your power affects him.
that was a cool vid! For some reason Doomsday's and Superman's relationship really reminds me of Broly's and Gokus' relationship. the more bigger and muscular opponent hates the other one for something their race did, and will do anthing in their power to kill them, plus both Doomsday and Broly are in theory, indestructable. They should fight!
We complain a lot about trailers ruining the movies, but can you imagine being a comic book fan, going to the store, and on the very cover, read, THE DEATH OF SUPERMAN, I´d be like "well, thanks a lot, dont need to read this anymore"
I really wish the animated movie The Death of Superman followed exactly the 1992 comic book stories. I'm nearly 70 now but memory seems to tell me that one prison for Doomsday was a Beaming device locked in a constant cycle. Another was when Waverider took Doomsday to the end of entropy called vanishing point where time ends.
Doomsday once died of boredom but now it's not a problem.
He also died laughing at this comment...but now....
it aint funny anymore....
Um did you know Doomsday is immortal right, you see every time Doomsday is slain, he will return to life immune to what killed him before.

JWBDWP2 true it can go either way
+BLAQ JOKER
Whenever people talk about Doomsday vs Hulk, I assume they mean World Breaker Hulk.
Doomsday was killed by Chuck Norris once. Doomsday became invulnerable to this by never annoying Chuck Norris again
Dead meme.
Arris obviously likes DC over other companies
well his favorite hero is batman and DC is in my opinion also the best
***** YES. My second reply from VariantDC, I mean VariantComics
Ouch
So your feeling hurts seeing him love something? Geez
KRYPTONITE IMMUNITY
Superman v batman: died stabbed by a kryptonite anyway
DOOMSDAY VS DARKSEID!!!!
+PetitSmite Has happened twice already Doomsday won both times easily
+PetitSmite that was in Superman/Doomsday he had to come save Darkseid cuz Doomsday was tearing up Apokolips #TheMoreYouKnow
+John Foody No but I mean like a video from Arris, explaining powers, origins, and who would beat who and why yknow?
+Stone Kidman i meant like a video from arris explaining both and all
YES!!! this is what I've been waiting for...
Thank you so much...
I need a history of hawkgirl please
comic drake already did it.
+Rafael Patrón so? I would like arris to do it
+Daniel Scringer just in case you wanted watch it.
+Rafael Patrón in that case thanks
This thumbs up just for that opening. I love Clay Face!
what's funny to me is that Dr Manhattan could beat him with no problem. 😂😂😂
Only a certain amount of times. He will just come back immune to how he was killed before
Dr Manhattan could vaporise all his atoms and he would stop existing
He can become immune to about 99% of everything but when you got someone who could destroy you completely down to a molecular level with just a thought, then it's safe to say that you won't be coming back from that lol
You used to be #1 but I feel emergency awesome has taken that spot! You need to upload more than just once in a week!
Doomsday vs The Hulk?
Hulk at first and DoomsDay at second.
Both have a ridiculous healing factor, and get more powerful the longer they fight,so that would be the end of a galaxy
The Death of Superman was the very first comic I've ever read. When I read it, I didn't understand the significance of Superman's death, I thought he was just a really strong man who saves people. If I knew the stuff about Superman I did now, ngl I probably would've cried.
what would happen if doomsday was completely vaporized?
RealShield101 he was completely erased by Anti-Monitor. He needed help to come back.
He'll find a way to come back completely immune
Awesome stuff, Aries. Think you could do alternative versions of Doomsday?
so is radiant stronger than superman because he killed doomsday and superman died while killing doomsday?
OMNIOUS SINIST3R Probably.
A > B
B > C
So A > C, then right?
Wrong, it doesn't work like that all the time.
my new fave channel.
This is strait word for word from the doomsday Wikipedia page 😂
Say sike 😭
i'm shocked nobody's had the balls to try to go for a clay face in a batman movie! It's never been attempted
Y does DC create like the most overpowered characters ever?! It's not fun tht wat
Way*
+Stefano Samson Thats why I usually stick with Batman no one is invulnerable
IKR.
Why marvel is better
thomas adams I like Marvel too nothing against it the whole Marvel vs DC thing to me is dumb I enjoy the stories and both companies have great stories, I love Iron Man, The X-men and prefer the Avengers over Justice League, I just love Batman the best out of all of them.
21 +17=38
that was a cool vid!
Crap im early let me think of a joke umm
Angry Joe
not as funny as other joe
***** the fuck is a L?
+The Beast a loss
You lose or lost
The opposite of a W
A win
We complain a lot about trailers ruining the movies, but can you imagine being a comic book fan, going to the store, and on the very cover, read, THE DEATH OF SUPERMAN, I´d be like "well, thanks a lot, dont need to read this anymore"
Doomsday is ONLY known for killing superman. He sucks as a character. Seriously
Doomsday never killed Superman in the comics.
+Nick Holmes um, I think u oughta read "The Death of Superman" story arc
He did kill him, but the fans wanted Superman back and so that happened.
Idk I kinda feel Hulk could beat Doomsday
Carl Fletcher Junior nah
5:27 can someone tell me what comic is this?
Super cool information 🎉
I love the way he reads the comics and he saves me few bucks :)
I love you guys keep it up have fun and can you plz do history of matter eater lad lol
please do long in depth history of, of all the lantern corps individually please!!!
Watching this in 2018.
We had good hopes.
This channel is addicting
Superman is so powerful DC literally had to create a new character whose only purpose was to kill him
