What makes Lex so smart is that he never planned that Superman would kill Batman, he's actually planning that Batman would kill Superman since he knew Bat had Kryptonite in his hands that enough to kill Superman, so when Bat finished Superman, there's no chance for Bat to match up with Doomsday
That's the thing that makes little sense in this plot. My guess is that Lex timed it so that Superman would either show up *with* or *without* batmans head just moments before doomsday had been "animated" as the computor says. He would abort the animation if superman had batmans head I guess, but since lex "lost" and noone died, he said "I don't know how to lose" and his only option to still "win" was to let doomsday come alive. Up until here it makes sense but then what...? God is as good as dead, mankind has no chance against doomsday, mankind is completely eradicated? Not really an awesome plan....
Yeah but either way, it always feels odd to explain what Lex is gonna do with Doomsday if Bat really kills Superman. My theory on Lex letting Bat kill Superman is based on the sentence he said after Superman returned "I give the Bat a fighting chance, but he was not strong enough" Clearly he wants him to kill Superman, but yeah...at the end it's always hard to explain about Doomsday part, maybe he thinks he can control it at the end we don't know..

Even though I loved this movie; I think the better choice would have been to make a bizzaro from Zods body rather than Doomsday. It would have been more symbolic, as well as saved Doomsday for a Superman sequel.
There's another Doomsday out in the Universe. The Doomsday in this movie is a different altered version. Zack Snyder said himself that the Moon of Krypton was destroyed by Doomsday. You can see it in Man of Steel.
This is totally Frankenstein imagery: defilement of a corpse, bringing life into something that is already dead. Even the lighting during the end of the Genesis sequence. It's all there.
Yep; very intentional. It gives a shorthand as to how we should see Lex - a new level of hubris and repugnance. Victor Frankenstein manufactured his own headache by violating common moral decency for the sake of scientific/technical victory. Unfortunately, the person who suffered the headache most in this film was not the "Frankenstein", but Superman (and the public, obvs).

I love that line: "it has been advised by the council of Krypton that never AGAIN will one give life to a deformity..." The key word in there is AGAIN. Therefore a Doomsday has been created before. And doomsday can't be killed I don't think? So somewhere, the original Doomsday is in fact out there, and Zack Snyder intended that.
That fingerprint technique that Lex used in the beginning of the clip reminds me of how Ant-Man used Hank Pym's fingerprints in his home to gain access to the Ant-Man suit. Also, in the deleted Steppenwolf scene, when Lex was in a trance, and seeing Steppenwolf, it reminded me of when Loki meditated and was communicating with The Other(Thanos' servant) in the first Avengers film.

You may disagree with my opinion, IMO This version of Lex has the same level of madness as the DCAU one had. I mean apart from Jesse playing more eccentric version the amount of effort this guy puts to frame Supes as villain and murderer is insane, to me its kinda similar to DCAU one. Though I could agree a more wiser, calmer and intimidating version like smallvile would have been great but this works for me too .
Just like in the scene where Lex announces Fight Night to Superman, you can tell that Lex is genuinely terrified of Supes as he trembles in his presence and on his arrival. Yet Lex, as evil as he is, embodies the "Men are brave" line from Batman by playing with fire and manipulating Kal, despite his terror. Good stuff by Snyder.

Let's address some complaints. 1.Eisenberg Lex Luthor As with most newly introduced characters, they don't start as their finished product. And with CBM movie characters they're based after different versions of characters. So that being said, Eisenberg plays an early Lex, and he evolves into the common Lex, this phenomenon is called character development. Something people like to ignore when it comes to them complaining about the DCeU 2.The way Doomsday looks Doomsday evolves, simple as that. He wasnt about to be born looking exactly like the common Doomsday, the bones and spikes and shut are an adaptation in itself in the comics, as a new born he obviously had no need for them yet or simply his body didn't know he needed to evolve, but over the course of the fight he was evolving, shedding skin, growing bones, getting larger etc he was evolving.
P25C people understand character development but it doesn't mean you should start off the character, off character... There is absolutely no version of Luther which started like this.. e.g(sorry for mentioning marvel but im going to do it anyway😂) the Cap we started off with in Avengers is different from the Cap in InfinityWar.. He changed along the way.. But he was STILL in character in the first time we saw him. They didn't say hey lets start him off as a prick and an asshole so that he can involve into being noble. Lex has always been serious. He was never like a joker or riddler.
gape ngwanaamotho this Lex never did anything like Joker. He was at best close to Heath Ledger's Joker which was written different from all the others. The Lex never really made jokes nor did he commit crimes in the way Joker would. He also never left clues behind as Riddler would. The most he has in common with Riddler is his condescending nature. This version of Lex manipulated almosy every character in the movie into believing Superman was a murderer. He also painted Batman to be a a killer of ordinary criminals, all the while disguised as a benevolent businessman with humanity's best interests at heart.
Ok I'll give you another complaints, this movie was called Batman vs Superman, why Luthor is there?, Why Doomsday is there?, why wonderwoman is there?, why I have to watch 90 minutes about a parallel history about the incrimination of Superman that not contributes nothing to the history, and above of all... WHY MARTHAAAA!!!

What makes Lex so smart is that he never planned that Superman would kill Batman, he's actually planning that Batman would kill Superman since he knew Bat had Kryptonite in his hands that enough to kill Superman, so when Bat finished Superman, there's no chance for Bat to match up with Doomsday
I felt bad for Zod.... Tho he was dead, his dead carcass was mutually and horrifically transformed into Doomsday... 😢
+Frank Genera
All for Doomsday to die in the end😕
Ok......but then what is Lex supposed to do with Doomsday? Who was going to kill him too?
As the crashed kryptonian ship says "computer warns 'Action forbidden - it has been decreed by the council of Krypton that none will ever again give life to a deformity so hateful to sight and memory - the desecration without name." You may disagree with my opinion, IMO This version of Lex has the same level of madness as the DCAU one had. I mean apart from Jesse playing more eccentric version the amount of effort this guy puts to frame Supes as villain and murderer is insane, to me its kinda similar to DCAU one. That was the plan as highlighted at the end of Zack Snyder Justice League. This version is based on the Birthright series.

1.Eisenberg Lex Luthor
As with most newly introduced characters, they don't start as their finished product. And with CBM movie characters they're based after different versions of characters. So that being said, Eisenberg plays an early Lex, and he evolves into the common Lex, this phenomenon is called character development. Something people like to ignore when it comes to them complaining about the DCeU
2.The way Doomsday looks
Doomsday evolves, simple as that.
Actually, this Lex is a perfect match for Lex in the Birthright comic

Lex doesn't hate Zod because Zod made sense to him. He was "all powerful" like Superman, but certainly not "all good". His plan to terraform Earth, killing everybody in the process and turning it into Krypton made sense to Luthor, despite how evil it was.
That seems to be the root of the difference between his attitude towards Zod and Superman. Zod fit the worldview Lex has of people with this kind of power while Superman presents a contradiction.
