@Christian Gutierrez Yeah but graffiti I can at least see where people are coming from. It might be amazing art but on the end of the day it's on someone else's stuff. Does this mean I hate graffiti? No. However, I can see getting annoyed at someone painting on my nice shiny building. Tattoos, on the other hand, are on my skin, which is 100% mine so if you don't like it too bad.
annoythefish right, because incredibly smart people (like doctors or lawyers) absolutely never get tattooed. Nor do people ever save up for tattoos....
Those types are the best salesmen/women. It's always about sales and money, do your research...use the best artist in your area, just like politics, never listen to the words but watch their actions. Simple common sense goes along way to get what is good for you.
This dude is easily one of the most likeable artists they've had on one of these videos. I would totally visit this guy's shop if I was in his neck of the woods.
I find most of the tattoo artists featured on this channel are stuck up and judgemental so it's nice to have this guy on here he's a breath of fresh air, and actually seems to enjoy what he does, and cares about the client :)
I love my hand tattoos, but I heard a thousand doors simultaneously shut all those moons ago. Now I bookkeep for a respectable accountant. Life is funny. My personal philosophy consists "of judge me not by my attire or body art. Judge me by my bloody character" If someone declines my employment due to my tattoos, they're not worth selling my time, effort and ingenuity to them for. I think thats fair and not tooooo arrogant.
That doesn’t sound arrogant at all. It’s fair to assume that your time would be wasted by a company that’s not willing to look past tattoos. Of course, that only goes so far; face tattoos are vastly different from knuckle tattoos.
@@tomd5357 tbh ive seen some very tasteful f.tats but its true to say that an absurd amount of people really fuck up with that decision. I won't get my face done till my 40's probably.
"If you're a soundcloud rapper, get your face tattooed." LMAO *edit* I also really like this guy! He seems super laidback and chill. Definetly someone I'd like to get a tattoo from.
RJ In because f these videos now a year later I have all my arms done many chest and back and legs are all covered too now they gave me real solid advice tattoo manners is important my artist always hooks it up with extra shit
I got my first tattoo at 18 n I promise it’s worth it. Make sure it’s something u like or something u think looks good n just enjoy it. Don’t sweat it n don’t regret it.
@@GetOffMyy not every artist recommends Aquaphor although I do hear about it alot. When I got mine done they actually told me they advise against it because people put too much on. Instead, they gave me Redemption Tattoo Care, the aftercare cream stuff. It was way easier for me to put a thin layer on that way.
CuteIcingPanda if they put too much on that doesn’t mean it’s a bad product it just means they don’t know how to follow instructions. I have over 12 tattoos and never had an issue with aquaphor. Been using it since I was a teenager.
I just did my first tattoo. Its quite big on my forearm and now I am so in love with the idea of more tattoos I wish I could get a sleeve on same arm. Tattoo placement is very important. Let's see what I can do in the coming years
Love your laugh! Perfect advice!. The only thing I might add is, many people are afraid to say that they think the art is too big for their foot or wherever. There is nothing wrong with asking if it can be shrunk down a little. They end up hating it and go to a different artist after that due to embarrassment. Talk to your artist people!
7:50 I learned that the hard way. I'd also say even if you think you're only going to get one tattoo in a place like your arm, plan it like you're getting a sleeve. Then if you want a sleeve later you don't have to compromise with the tattoo you already have. If you never get the sleeve then no problem.
It’s so nice to see someone in the industry not being a gate keeper, so many of these videos have tattoo artists hating on certain styles or types of clients, let people live and do what they want with their bodies!
When I got my sleeve, told my artist what I wanted (Greek Gods) mostly realism. After that I trusted him to take his skill and put it on paper then my arm. Best decision I’ve ever made!
He said it but I'll remind yall, drink water and eat before your tattoo or you'll pass out I've seen it happen. This is definitely the best video I've seen on here
I went by myself and I was praised for my lack of movement when I got my forearm done. And I completely understand what he is saying. Sure I kinda regret getting my whole forearm done but oh well, what's done is done
As for the free rein clients I told my artist that I really want to get a half sleeve done but I wanted it to have something to do with owls and literature, otherwise she could do whatever she wanted. I think it's kind of fun to see what the artist comes up with.
I have tapped out only once and it was when I was getting my back tattoo because I have broken two vertibre in my spine and there is nerve damage in there. I feel no shame to say that the next session was done with numbing cream. I still felt I deserve it to cover the scars and I usually feel like you have to earn tattoos but I think I have already paid in pain for my back piece.
Somehow, this popped into my recommended (I’m 21 male and don’t have tattoos, although I’m an ex heroin addict so I want one on the crook of my right arm to cover the scars). So idk anything about tattoos, but this dude is cool af! Like seriously, he was entertaining and genuine. Cool video!
Got my first tattoo about a month ago on the side of my neck. It's a semicolon marking the end of my depression and suicidal times. I wanted it to be on my neck so I can show everyone that I'm stronger than my mental issues and I can overcome anything if I try hard enough.
I got my first tattoo when I was 15, and it was the best day of my life! I don't think my teachers liked it very much lmao. I now have 6, a couple on my neck, which I'm in love with. I reallllyyy want to get a sleeve, but I need to save up first haha. I feel like getting tattoos is the best way to express yourself, I couldn't imagine living my entire life with no ink on my body, plus I want me and my grandma to get matching tattoos! I always ask the price they'll charge for a tattoo before I get it, but I'd never be like "it's a $100? Okay will you do 80?" That's just fucking stupid.

Judging tats is a good red flag for knowing what job to avoid.
While a tattoo doesn't affect your ability to do a job, it would make me question their decision-making ability if they rock up with a face tattoo.
