- Let's face it, getting a tattoo can be uncomfortable. It's not exactly like getting a massage, but the end result is worth it. In this video, Rasmus will share some helpful tips and tricks to minimize tattoo pain.

My advice if you're getting a big piece, try and do shorter sessions if your tattoo artist is ok with that. I just did a 9 hour session on my upper right arm and that shit was complete torture. Specially towards the end, my nerves were shot. The pain won't ever hurt less, but the longer you go, the less your body will be able to tolerate it. I've done a total of 34 hours of getting tattoo'd in my life, and it hasn't gotten any easier. Also, noise cancelling headphones and music will help the first few hours. Get adrenaline from your favorite music. Good luck to yall! I have one more 8 hour session left and I'm dreading it lol.
Bro i just had my first ever tattoo full sleeve, he did the outline first for around 6hrs, man fckkkk it was the most painful thing ever at the end, i almost gave up
The hand heaviness is so real. I’ve had 3 different artists on my body. The first one wasn’t terrible, the bigger ones I have my now main artist is lovely. It’s not that bad he has a decent hand. HOWEVER. I got a small dinosaur by such a wonderful dude but it hurt SO BAD lol,
I've tried everything to distract myself and it just doesn't work for me it's more irritating than anything. I just sit there and as soon as the needle touches me I hold my breath and put up with it cuz I know in the end it's going to be worth it.
My younger brother got tattooed way before I did he would always say oh it doesn't hurt at all I love the feeling.
I'm not sure if that's true maybe it is for some people. But I'm not afraid to say that yeah it hurts a lot but it's okay.
Got my first when I was 16. I was scared af but it didn't hurt. Got the second one when I was 17. The tattoo artist tattooed on my chin. It vibrated, was kind of gross. But it never really hurt much.
Well considering I just finalized my full back piece, this video couldn’t be at a better time 😂
So far I’ve been a sleeper , feel asleep at points of all of my tattoos to this point 🙌

I have experience. Both arms full sleeves and I have just finished a full back tattoo of 36 hours work for a Japanese dragon done in sessions of up to 4 hours. However, NOTHING prepared me for the pain of finishing that back piece by framing the work on my backside. Two and a half hours on the left cheek was all I could take. And that side is only half done! To say I’m not looking forward to the rest is an understatement. 😮

@@vidushivishni9662 I got four tiny tattoo’s (shoulder, upper arm, hip and collarbone). I was nervous at first, but to my surprise it really didn’t hurt at all! The tattoo on my hip was kinda uncomfortable, but I wouldn’t call it pain. And also, each tattoo didn’t take longer than 10 minutes!

I was doing my tatto quite big by the way,i and i was drunk to reliefs the pain,and tbg that was my best decision to do.

I’ve had a total of 19 hours of getting tattoos of getting arm tattoos. Inside the wrists and the triceps are the worst.

What I've realized as well is an experienced artist can tell if thier client is in too much pain. If they can see the client is restless and fidgeting and not saying anything about the pain they usually say "let's take a quick break".
That's true! Most good and experienced artists knows how to "read" the clients.
My first 2 on my calves sucked ! And didn't know why it hurt so much turns out that artist works very fast still good but aparently hurts more , than I got my third and it was so much easier than the others 😂
I know that felling! My calves sucked big time as well. For me personally it is a sensitive spot, but no doubt the pain-level changes from artist to artist, and also from style to style as well.
What did you get on your calves? On my right calf I got a traditional dagger and left one, let me check.. A Darum, a LEGO-figure, and some Chinese letters that means friendship or fried rice.

Why is it that nobody talks about the after pain of getting a tattoo? I went and got a piece done on my inner forearm and my elbow and whole entire forearm hurts and is stiff even though I’m trying to use it and move it like regular. Today is Thursday and I got my tattoo done last Sunday
It’s more of a soreness my first two was sore asff especially the snakes on my bone so yea it’ll ache for a little while nothing to major 😩

Can I just use a ton of numbing cream and take a sleep aid to just pass tf out?

If you cant drink, or take any kinda natural pain killers.. id assume not, it alters your mind such as alcohol would and can cause passing out from the pain, me personally tho, im 420 friendly and ive got each of my (4) tattoos high and never had a problem, ive even smoked with the tattoo artist (he was a friend who owned his shop)

It’s different pain, I broke my radius in half and didn’t realise till the next day but certain tattoo spots hurt like hell for me
