Good work, been putting of this job for about 6 months. Had yours been harder on diesel than usual as well?

Just done mine - some learnings from me (pre-facelift): 1. Take the headlight out to do the installation. Just bite the bullet and do it. 2. Do them one at a time - if your headlights are lined up properly, do the first one and line it up against the other, then do the second and line it up against the first; you've always got one that's correct. 3. The supplied bezels make the projectors too big to fit properly, so don't use them; get the E46 surrounds with some adapter rings. Another 15 quid, but they look LOADS better (stock, in fact). 4. If your kit comes with an H7 plate, don't use it - it doesn't leave enough thread sticking out to screw the backplate on (which is a shame). 5. Push the locking spring partway through before you screw the backplate on; you can't bend it enough to get it through once the plate is screwed down. 6. Have some "normal" H1 bulbs standing by for MOT day - you never know!

I've ust done the soot clean so far and it worked a treat. The oxilic acid is next. Thank you. It's an E90 320d. I had issues trying to force a regen with the diagnostic computer but after the flush it wasn't a problem. I will say to anyone who is having issues. I had to first change the glow plugs, glow plug controller and the thermostat because it was stuck open and the coolant temp wasn't high enough for the regen to happen. Along with a failing controller that's what caused the soot build up in the first place. All sorted now. Thank again for the great video. Subd 👍

Done today with a £40 ebay part. 12mm socket, decent screwdriver and its a 30 min job after fuck ups....game changer do it now to amy mk1 make a massive difference to the gear chmage feel

Great video! Just a tiny point but the fuel additive needs to go in a near full tank ideally. And needs at least a week to run through. It's a bit like taking vitamin pills, if you take too many you just have expensive urine?

Do I need brake cleaner or anything? I've found a kit for my car on Amazon and it comes with 2 rotors and front brakes for a good price and I want to try and save the brake caliper.

All LED bulbs with CSP diodes will create the illusion of a cut-off line but on most excessive light will bleed above the cutoff. So far only Philips ultinon pro LED have the minimum light bleed above the cut-off and in some cases they are even better than the halogen. BTW if your headlight front lenses are foggy you will blind oncoming traffic even with the standard halogen bulbs.

That's not an stop/start battery.....it doesn't need coding 🙄 if you car has auto stop/start then you have installed the wrong tyre of battery 😮

So I found your vid to be very similar to my x3 3.0D e83 body m57 engine so doing my due diligence before attempting to take things apart and found this vid. Thanks it helped a lot.

I think you have a main problem not with DPF but with one of the sensors. DPF problem is the result(regeneration is not starting because one of the sensors provides incorrect pressure) I was having the same issue I tried to clean dpf... Finally I changed 2 sensors(differential pressure and gas pressure before DPF) Regeneration started to execute and problem is gone. These sensors degrade with time and show wrong pressure (usually more than real) and regeneration is not starting. You can check - when engine is not started, differential pressure must be equal 0, pressure before DPF is the same as ambient pressure. If you have a difference - change both sensors. Use only original BMW sensors. I first time tried Hella and it works wrong.

I also did my suspension arm just before Christmas using this video - really helpful again.😊

I doubt very much you'd notice any difference running a tiny engine like that on any fuel.

Many thanks for this video. I changed my mk1 wobbly stick for a new one - really easy with this guide. I did get under and sprayed bolts 24hrs before. Gear change is nice and precise again.

Sad my car failed the mot because of that cylinder and a brake line being rusty, turns out I think they need to replace they whole line as it's rusty and the cylinder , they quoted me £ 460 which tbh not sure if it was worth for a 2009 C1 but I need the car and not planning on buying any other car
