Nick, The PDP does look like it has the most muzzle rise. Thank you very much. You and your family have a beautiful and blessed week. LORD GOD Bless and stay vigilant
I had a PDP and didn't like the chunkiness, everything else was great. I very satisfied with my G19 and my Mod 3. I think Walther could trim down the PDP without losing the look or the great serrations.
Great gun, my biggest turn off was when I didn’t get an optic plate included in the box. Yes you can contact them to receive one. Like most people I don’t have time and patience to do that. 🤣🤣🤣🤷🏾♂️
Thanks for the info Nick! I was considering the PDP Pro, but I think I will get that M&P 2.0 in the 3.6” barrel, or the Shield Plus 4”. I have a few of the M&P 2.0’s but not the 3.6”, nor the Shield Plus 4”. I agree with you, the M&P’s shoot great as well as the G19. Thanks again for the comparison, and all that you do! Much appreciated sir.
The PDP's are all great guns. I don't have anything truly negative to say about it. I do like the 3.6" 2.0. I'd love for them to make it with a metal frame. I think about it often hahah
Love the Walther platform (and Canik copies), amazing triggers… bought 2 Mod 3’s :). You can tell you’ve been shooting the PDP a lot, shot it great. Thanks for the comparisons!
I just got a new PDP full size. Not a carry gun but more of a range gun. This is my second one. I love it and don’t really have any issues. It does have some snappiness but mostly handle that with the grip. My carry gun is the S&W 9 compact and that is a great shooting pistol as well.
Valid points on the PDP. I have one in my nightstand. I don’t even take it to the range anymore. Maybe it’s time to sell and get that M&P Sport III that I’ve been eyeing up
Agreed. Sweet guns but to be chunky like they are they should be less snappy than other choices not more. I’m carrying a 3.6 M&P like the one you show but with the Floyd’s magwell and 17 round baseplates. Love it.
A great trigger is nice, but it's less impressive when you have physics working against you. Also, after looking at some specs on HandgunHero, it appears the compact PDP is significantly taller than other compacts and only a little shorter than the Echelon which is a full size gun.
I got a pdp compact expecting a g19 sized gun. Ended up printing like my g45 but 2 less rounds. I need a g19 sized gun for how I dress, M&P 2.0 is what I ended up settling on.
Nick, I have two PDPs, 4” compact and 3.5”-F, and I like them both but I don’t love them like my other guns. The F series in my opinion is the better one. PDP is chunky and it also light weight so it makes it jumpy
Ive talked to people and its 2 things they don't know Walther is a quality brand and those that do know it exists don't wannna spend the extra money so they buy a glock or s&w
According to HandGun Hero the PDP is the same width, 1.34 in. as a Gen 5 Glock 19 and 23. As for the F series it is 1.34 in width as well. Maybe the F series has a smaller grip because the F is for female. I carry and love the G23.
I like the PDP and the PPS M2(Own both), For me too snappy is a Glock 43 and 43x, owned both and sold both within a few months of buying them. Another too snappy for me is a Hellcat rented one before considering buying one and didn't like it.
You must definitely have a better grip because aside from the G34 and 17L, Glocks are snappy to me. I use to love Glocks until I came across the CZ 75 series
I don't think that it's not popular. I think it's just that it's been out for a few years and is not the new hotness in terms of PDP models. They had several new models of it launch this year with the PDP Pro E guns, the steel frames and the PDP Pro X. The OG has a lot of videos. Just my thoughts as someone who's been researching and watching vids for months now building up to my first purchase. I will say as much as I've looked at every option from budget to gucci. ATM for me it's basically down to an M&P 2.0 either compact or the full size 4.25 one with the flat face trigger or a Glock. Because they will absolutely go bang even if they aren't maybe the "best" compared to other guns. I'm willing to sacrifice a little bit comfort wise for reliability and a gun that's gonna go bang when I need it for training and getting comfortable. I will say the F's grip is very different. While the grip is more comfortable you still have the snappiness.
I wasn’t really basing the lack of popularity on the views of my videos. Generally speaking they aren’t as popular as other pistols. They have a solid following for sure but nothing compared to its competitors.
I understand the Walther “hate”, but people are not measuring them by the same standards as they do glocks and smiths. People will by a Glock and go immediately to modify it, because it is too snappy. But expect Walther to walk on water out of the box.
I’d venture to say that the PDP is harsher recoiling than a Glock 19. The PDP has a great trigger and great grip texture which makes it shoot faster in my opinion.
Let’s be real. 1/8” difference in thickness, or even 3/16” is negligible. Also, the pdp is over sprung, so you’re experiencing muzzle drop, it’s not “snappy”.
An 1/8” is a huge difference when it’s bigger than every other gun in its class. Although muzzle drop is a thing - that doesn’t mean the compact PDP isn’t snappy. It has more muzzle rise and felt recoil than other comparable pistols.
@ I just don’t see the issue with the thickness. I know guys that carry double stack 1911’s, but say the pdp is too thick to edc. I carry my full size pdp just as often as I do my xr920. I also don’t see any difference with felt recoil or muzzle rise. The muzzle does drop when the slide returns, but it’s never been an issue for me. If it is, you can get a 15 or 13 lbs spring, and still have less into it than a G45/19, with a better trigger, better sights, better barrel and the same reliability. Either way, as long as people are finding something that works for them, and are taking their training seriously, I don’t care what they carry, but I feel like the pdp gets an unnecessarily bad rap.
I have no idea how guys carry 2011's - seems incredibly uncomfortable to me. I honestly don't have anything truly negative to say about the PDP but I do realize why it's not the first choice for most people. I think it's a great gun.
@ I agree, but I find the beaver tail to be the biggest issue with 1911/2011’s. At least if you’re carrying appendix. I get what you’re saying about the pdp. It isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. I didn’t think I’d like it as much as I do when I got it.
You're correct, the compact 4 inch isn't anymore "snappy" as any other 4 inch, but they 100% come oversprung with a recoil spring about 19-20 lbs.. IAfter I changed mine to a ZR Tactical ultra mass with 15lb spring I noticed a huge difference.. And the width is negligible, we're talking 1.26" vs 1.34"..
I gave up on walther. Sold all my walthers. Muzzle flip is crazy. The pdp is so out of balance. Even the mod 3 is a better gun. The only thing walther got is reliability
When I thought about getting one, it was around 700 out the door. That ship sailed about 3 years ago
Would make a great home protection gun or a range toy. I also feel you on the Glock grip angle. Keep em coming
@@DonaldPowell-k6z agreed. Thanks for watching.

I had a PDP and didn't like the chunkiness, everything else was great. I very satisfied with my G19 and my Mod 3. I think Walther could trim down the PDP without losing the look or the great serrations.
Agreed. I don’t think they will but I think they could too.
The g19 is 1.26" thick and the PDP is 1.34"
I could see the complaints if u were comparing it so a p365

The PDP is a fine shooting pistol.
I am thinking of ordering the PDP F Pro.
I would like to get my hands on a F series to see the difference in the grip.
@ I have held one and it does feel good. I definitely want to compare the two. Hopefully we get one in at the shop soon.

They make a great pistol. There's not doubt about it.
Full-size PDP owner here: I’m used to the jumpiness now, I just ride the recoil; however, the chonkiness has turned mine into a safe queen.
It’s pretty easy to get use to the recoil on the PDP. The gun tracks incredibly. It’s tough to get use to how thick it is though.
Thanks for the info!
Thanks for watching and commenting.
Valid points on the PDP. I have one in my nightstand. I don’t even take it to the range anymore. Maybe it’s time to sell and get that M&P Sport III that I’ve been eyeing up
The Sport III does look like a fine rifle.
Love my Sport 2. III is even better.
nice video , thanks

That 3.6" 2.0 is awesome. I love it.
You're the Man Nick 🔥🔥👍👍❤
Thanks for the support, Lester.
Great vid. I loved my PDP trigger but it is a bit snappy for it's size.
Thanks. I think it's a great pistol that checks a ton of boxes for plenty of people.

Sounds like a great choice. I’m a big fan of the 2.0’s
Had the pdp full size. Hated the stock sights and that was one thick boy
The stock sights do leave a bit to be desired. It is thick!

I like the PDP but like you it just doesn't make the top of the list.
The market is over saturated with striker fired guns. Its so many options its hard forget about certain brands.
No doubt about it. Tons of options.
i have grip force adapters on every glock to make the grip angle so much better.
That would solve the issues I have.
Personally having carried a .40 for 20 years, all the major brand striker fired 9mm’s shoot easy for me being tall and strong.
Clearly they shoot easy. That doesn’t mean they aren’t snappy compared to their competitors in the same class.
@ in your opinion what is the least snappy 9mm for less than $1000?
Ive talked to people and its 2 things they don't know Walther is a quality brand and those that do know it exists don't wannna spend the extra money so they buy a glock or s&w
Very true. I’ve heard similar from people as well.

Color me nutty but I like carrying my PK380 ...
There's nothing wrong with that but its much smaller than a PDP.
Walther is living in the past with their prices. Someone needs to remind them that 007 isn't popular anymore 😂
Hahah. I do know a ton of people who say they bought Walthers because of James Bond.
007 is still what I think of every time I see the Walther brand lol.
If thats the case then so is Glock🫣
