Once a law is passed it is very difficult to get it repealed or overturned. This is why bad laws accumulate over time. One solution to this problem would be to require sunset dates on all laws. Each time a law expired it would either have to go through the whole process of being passed again in either its current form or a new form or it would lapse. This would keep legislators busy reviewing laws previously passed so that they would have less time to pass new bad laws.
Or better yet, make an actual goal for the law. Measure that goal later to see if it worked, if it didn't axe it. Once a law is proven, the law becomes more permanent.
The challenge is if an important law like one that prohibits murder slips through the cracks (a lot of legislatures are pretty lazy/derelict of their duty) and we have a Purge situation until it's enacted back into law. Might be cool to thin the herd a bit, but would cause some chaos. Would this be more of a problem long term over the accumulation of bad laws?

As a high school kid, I found out that "silencers" were required on both car and motorcycle exhausts, no tax stamps required. While silencers will not suppress the sonic boom of bullets exceeding the speed of sound, they will tone down somewhat the muzzle blast of rifles and contribute to hearing protection along with earplugs and muff style hearing protectors.
Shoulda mentioned. When pulling targets at an Army K D range, I heard the sonic crack of the bullet long before I heard the report of the rifle at 500 yards.

Everyday in the US over 17 people are killed in car accidents. That statistic has not changed in over 40 years. About 6 of those 17 will be someone under the age of 20. Not only that, but over 6,200 people per day will be injured and of those over 790 will suffer permanent injuries due to car accidents. In fact, if you are over 18 and reading this, you have about a 1 in 4 chance of knowing someone in high school who died in a car accident. I do. My mother does. My grandparents both had classmates who died in car accidents. When was the last time you heard what I've written from "compassionate" and "caring" politicians and journalists?

if you feel responsible and comfortable, then you should definitely look into gun ownership. Its empowering, fun, and could make you feel safer. I would recommend a cheap pistol caliber carbine for a first gun to learn on.
This video is BS!!! They claim that silencers dosnt make a weapon quiet, that it still make a loud bang. But what if they use SD ammo?? You know, like it was intended. A gun makes 2 bangs when fired. The first is the explosion that propels the bullet. that is the one that the silencers dampen. The second is the sonic boom when the bullet passes the speed of sound. Thats where the SD ammo (silencer ammo/sound dampening) comes in. By putting less gunpowder in the cartridge, the bullet does not break the sound barrier thats causing the second bang. It makes the bullet penetration weaker, but it depends on the size of the bullet. I had a rifle cal 22 with a silencer, and i used 22 SD ammo.(i live in Norway, so im not sure if SD ammo is allowed in the US). But when i fired my rifle, all i heard was the click of the trigger mechanism. I fired 5 rounds at a bullseye target. At first i thought that there was something wrong with my ammo, but when i checked my target, there were 5 holes. Of course a larger bullet would mean a bigger bang, but how much? And by the way, when i used regular ammo, it made a big bang,as big as a 22 makes of course (the silencer dampens the bang a little). However, i do think that the SD ammo of a 22 is strong enough to kill a man if you hit him in the head.

Absolutely. Time to ban treasonous politicians and end the precedent BS. Slavery was once considered precedent as well.
@Tim | Well going by that logic, the only conclusion you can really draw is, to *what lengths* do you consider parts of a firearm? Items designed to be attached to firearms certainly sounds like they would classify. It _is_ a *_firearm suppressor/silencer_* after all. You can't get into these word-salad matches because they always end badly and strip people of freedoms. The best solution is really just to not give an inch, because when you do, this happens. Exactly this.
@Louis Tournay | In a perfect world where I didn't have to worry about corruption on the scale that we do, I might agree with you. Suffice it to say that any limitations about the 2A you can dream up aren't doing anything that helps either one of us.
Norm Macdonald teaching me about suppressors is a very soothing experience. I feel... safe. Loved. Desired, even.
wait wait cars can have "silencers" but firearms cant WHEN CARS KILL 2X THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE!?!?
Run that one by a politician, watch his head explode...
Cars kill about 2x20 times than firearms...
Perhaps it's because cars have quiet mufflers? hahaha. Alrighty, everyone run open headers!!!! :P
we all agree silencers should be legal, but that might be the dumbest argument i've seen in years
One of the best videos I've seen. Very well educated, informed and cited!
This video was incredible, so well made, i was engaged throughout but with a smile at the gags ....I dont even own a firearm! but now i appreciate people may want suppressors legitamately
if you feel responsible and comfortable, then you should definitely look into gun ownership.
@@hotel3667 be careful with your words, discounting an entire video's discussion on one minor detail isn't the best decision as it makes you look like you are entirely against the topic and trying to find anything to discount it. Not personal at all, just a friendly critique of your argument.
"We must make these items illegal, because criminals totally follow the law!!"
In the 1934 NFA hearings, they repeatedly recognized that hardened gangsters will not follow the NFA, but it would help convict them when caught since gangsters frequently had good alibis. They basically applied the criminal standard to the whole population, while attempting to reduce the number of guns in circulation with the $200 tax.
ppl making gun laws are the real criminals
I know, right? They make murder and robbery illegal, well DUH that's not going to stop murders or robberies, since they are committed by criminals. Make murder legal!!! all the crimes of murder will go away overnight!!!
@@BuzzOrHowl If we make murder illegal then the only people committing murder will be criminals.

"Laws that helped criminals and hurt the average citizen" even though that's about Prohibition, it's the perfect description for gun restrictions.

There are a million and a half ways to get around all the strictest firearms laws in the US as long as you have the money.

Me: "Aww shit, here we go again."
Note: This guy's statement about suppressors is very accurate. Well done.
17:37 😂 so good. Give the editor a raise.
In Sweden, we deregulated silencers/suppressors last year - from having to have a licens per silencer, to today be able to buy all the suppressors I like.
That's probably because, unlike the US, you don't base your laws on Hollywood movies lol
The same in Poland
You have to jump through MANY more hoops to get your firearms. Way more than us. So, assuming your Swedish, is the below information accurate?
To own a gun in Sweden, you must:
Be at least 18 years old
Be law-abiding and well-behaved
Be able to justify your need for the weapon, such as for hunting or target shooting
Pass a six-month assessment at a certified club
Undergo police monitoring every 24 hours
Pass a registry check for any crimes or suspected crimes
Some other restrictions on gun ownership in Sweden include:
Certain people are restricted from owning guns, including those with a criminal record, history of domestic violence, or mental illness
There are restrictions on the types of ammunition that can be purchased
There are restrictions on firearm accessories, such as high-capacity magazines and sound suppressors
There are restrictions on where weapons can be stored
Apart from movies, Videogames are also responsible for miss information on Silencers.
These days, the influence of videogames shouldn't be ignored.
I mean, you've got what, 3 generations that grew up with them these days, in at least some way, shape, or form?
But it's also people who play said games that can teach about the misinformation that is spread. It's how I learned since I'm too lazy to figure something out unless it's prevalent at the time. Just don't blame games for the ignorance of people being complacent with what they think they know.
As someone who enjoys gaming, I don't see why anyone would take what they're playing as fact. I know it happens, I just don't understand how.

Patrick Kinniburgh Yeah, if all of us were to put differences aside to unite in a fight to take back our country from the globalist elite hell bent on stripping us of our rights destroying freedom and implementing this new world global agenda with total control of the population. The problem is since 2016 elections they have really doubled down on the whole strategy of divide and conquer. Thru the use of constant and repetitive media propaganda thru television, radio, social media, education, advertising, even manufacturing a global health crisis they have created unprecedented levels of division turning the nation even family against 1 another. They will stop at no lengths to implement their agenda and have demonstrated they possess the means and the power to carry it out. I hate to say it but it appears the most we can hope for is putting up a hell of a fight to hold off on this agenda as long as possible. Maybe luck will be on our side.

I thought you must have included clips from most Costner's movies which was great! Just needed something from Yellowstone. Say... "Take Joe (Biden) to the train station ".
Excellent video. This discussion makes a very presentable debate against suppressors to people who don't even need to understand guns to understand the point. Lovely.
