That was super helpful, thanks! My little one is five months and he’ll be starting solids in a month. I find this whole BLW world really exciting.
mum life is buying cute bowls of all sorts and then giving your baby the food directly on their clean little highchair anyway because that's where it'll end up.... I love your ideas and your explanations as to why you're giving what. My first introduction to peanut butter was when I was like twenty lol (not peanuts tho) and we also don't typically cook anything with sweet potato where I live but I love using avocado... my own mother did this thing where she made everything for us kids whole grain and homemade (all the bread, all the pasta dough, everything lmao) and I absolutely cannot do that and I know it's super irrational to feel guilt about that because it's such an extra thing to do and nobody does it lmao but that's mum guilt for you.... I love all these options you have here and that everything is so healthy and balanced. I was so anxious about really dry food like toast at the beginning xD but my baby loves it... sending you and your entire family lots of love xx
Hi I'm a first time mom and I find this video very helpful. Hoping to see your part 2 🥰
I loved this video Megan! You were incredible at guiding us through your BLW food prep. Everything was extremely detailed and well explained. Way to go Megan!
Ahhh thank you Evan!!! 💛
Thank you so much for this video. I was feeling nervous to start BLW but your video gave me the motivation and knowledge
Super helpful! Thank you for sharing!
Part 2 yes!! We love you!
Aww thank you for this, also I love your vlogs!!! I’m officially starting my research on this because my baby is almost 4 months already and I’m one of those moms that likes to research things way in advance. I look forward for his 6 months! 🥰 and yes please do a part 2! ❤️
Part 2 please! I want to do BLW with our second baby because my almost 4 year old son is so picky. My daughter is almost 5 months so trying to do research now. So love love this video!
Love the editing of the plated food, so cute!
Thank you so so much for this! My god daughter is about Rowans age and learning to like her mommy’s foods and this was a perfect thing for me to send to them for some place to start safely. 🖤
Oh..yes...loved this video a lot. Looking forward to part 2 :D
Thank you for sharing! We definitely want pt 2 please!
For avacado and banana you can coat it with bread crumbs or crushing up cheerios to help baby grip the food 😊
Hey Megan, thanks for the video! I was wondering if you have introduced meats yet? I have been hesitant to give my baby meat because I am unsure how to serve it. If you make a part two that would be helpful.
This was so helpful! Simple and straight forward. Thank you!
I love how you explain everything in this video!! I definitely will be saving this for when I have a baby one day ☺️💕
I hope it’s helpful!!!
@@MeganAcuna Very helpful! Thank you ☺️
Ah love this! Started BLW with my son last week and I needed ideas!!
For foods that are slippery; you can coat them in chia seeds, flax seeds, etc. This helps baby with holding the food item
It seems like chia & flax seeds would be difficult for a 6-8 month old to digest, no?
@@the_light_writer as long as they arent dry it is fine around 6-7 month. No an excessive amount just enough so it doesnt glide everywhere
This is such a fantastic video. Thank you for your awesome editing too
This was the exact video I needed right now! Thank you so much for your content 🥰
Thanks so much for sharing!!! I love your videos. You make me feel more confident that I can do this. Sending lots of love!!!
U read my mind with this video!
Would love part 2 please! 😌
Thank for this I could not figure out how to prepare foods before hand do I don't spend a ton of time cooking/prepping every meal
Thank you for this video. Fun to watch and very educational!!
Hey trank you from germany for all the interesting Videos! My Girl ist now 4 Month old and I prepare for blw in January…
But please please please buy a toaster! The climate will thank you! :) One piece of bread in the whole oven is hard to see.
Just an idea! You are great!
Bye from Hamburg
Thank you so mush for making this video !! it was so helpful 💕
I’m so glad! Thank you so much for watching! 💛
I've been watching more than few of your videos lol. I love your channel. Definitely subscribing. I have a son, too. I love your food ideas Very similar to mine.
Thanks for posting this! I’m deciding whether to do a mix of BLW and purées or if I should skip purées altogether.
And yes please part 2!
Such a helpful video! I’m starting BLW in a month and so excited! Question regarding the sweet potatoes. To my understanding salt limitation is important but it’s actually recommended to add spices during BLW rather than leaving foods “plain”?
Thank you sooo much for this video❤
This video is helpful🥰
I’m so glad! Thanks for watching 🌼
This might be a stupid question but do you reheat the precooked food or serve it cold? Like the sweet potato for example. Thanks for the video! :)
blessed video! THANK YOU SO MUCH :)
Lol wierd this is making me sooo hungry 🤤
I now have to make sweet potatoes today🍠😂
i might do the combo
Part 2 please! 😊😊
extremely good video Megan Acuna. I killed the thumbs up on your video. Keep on up the superior work.
My parents introduced me to seafood when was was very young. I’ve always been allergic since day one. Some allergens are just unavoidable. Sometimes I wonder if scientists are still studying if giving babies more diverse food options will prevent allergies because here I am today as an adult with too many allergies to count and my parents let me try so many different kinds of foods growing up.
You are just unlucky to have allergies. They tried to withhold allergen foods until a later age and the allergies in kids skyrocketed, so that is why they have gone back to how it originally was.
Omg I’ve been looking for a cute dinosaur long sleeve bib because we have a Dino bumpkins plate and the mushie silicone Dino bib, but I don’t see the sleeved one on the link you provided 😭😭
The color is sold out, I’m so sorry! I had a heck of a time tracking one down but it’s worth a shot! The brand is Liewood Design
@@MeganAcuna thank you so much :) I love that you think about each detail so much. I’ve probably told you that already, but it makes me feel less crazy for caring so deeply about everything I use/put on my child 😀😅
Very informative video. My little one is almost 6 months old, and we are planning on starting solids once he is sitting up better. Did you discuss the option of baby-led weaning with your pediatrician ? My pediatrician just gave us a handout at the 4 month appointment, with traditional puree style approach. There wasn't much room for questions or suggestions, but after doing some research, I find that I really would like to do a BLW or combined approach.
We did! I definitely think finding a pediatrician who listens to your questions and isn’t too “strict” with how they think you should parent (besides safety things of course) is so important! You deserve that support!
Okay, this could not have come at a more perfect time! We start BLW with our son Greyson next month 🙏🏻 Thank you so much for sharing this video! I’m saving it as a reference for sure ☺️
I have a question for you about baby oatmeal! We just started the baby oatmeal mixed with formula and Greyson is not a fan 🙈 We tried it in a bowl and a bottle, but we think because it is unfamiliar to him he is just unsure of it altogether. When we feed him he sits on my lap because he is too small for his high chair just yet, but do you think if we put him in a Bumbo or try his activity center we will have more success with the oatmeal? We will definitely be giving him solids in his high chair next month when we start those, but I’m wondering if maybe we should just go ahead and get him into a routine of sitting in his Bumbo or his own little area now to prepare for that? Thank you in advance, Megan 🤗
I’m not an expert by any means but I’ve noticed when I’m holding Rowan and he’s getting something that’s not breastfeeding he gets confused/frustrated! Maybe try having your husband hold him and see if that helps!
@@MeganAcuna That is a great idea! We will try that today :) Thank you so much!
Is it ok to do toast if no teeth?
but my son doesn't eat good what should i do?
hello from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
I feel like baby breaks a big piece of cucumber and i don’t know if he is gonna try to swallow it or spit it out , it kind of looks dangerous
For the avocado cover it in flax seed so it’s easier to grasp
I can’t find the CPR run threw she was going to link. Am I missing something?
It’s the very last link under “resources” in the description!
I want to do this soo bad but I am soo afraid of choking everytime I give her food I want to just scoop it out of her mouth 😭😭❤️
Same I'm so anxious I just end up giving him purees cause I m such a nervous wreck 😓
Most of the time the baby is only gagging, which is not choking. If a parent intervenes whilst a child is gagging (which is safe, as they are just regurgitating the food), they can actually cause the child to choke . Learning the difference will really help your anxiety. Gagging needs to be a learnt skill, as it is something that we all need to learn in life. Also doing a Led weaning course and a CPR course will also help subdue fears. It is definitely a great way to feed. My granddaughter was drinking from an open cup at 7 months of age and spoon feeding herself.
The avocado, I left half the peel on and she ripped a little piece of it off and choked on it 😭 thankfully knowing baby cpr, I was able to dislodge it but it was only at the back of her mouth. So beware yall! I only give without the peel now bc of this particular instance.
