Restoring the rusty brake caliper with improvised means that are in every home! The result is impressive. Sorry for sniffing #rusty #brakecaliper #restoration
Bro i just painted my alfa Romeo 147 brakes and now i see your job and i am feeling bas for my self but it just amazing for you how good you restored them, and your attention to detail is for oscar!👏
mine started out red, I guess for aesthetics and the cost to replace or respray with oem cals was astronomical. Respraying myself after a deep clean and changing seals saved me £400 (and that was for refurbished 911 front pads. New would have been £1600 for a 9 year old banger.)
This is an excellent video. I recently did something similar to my 1998 z28 Camaro, however, I wasn't as exhaustive as you were. Instead of lemon acid, which I am glad I learned about, I sand blasted the aluminum caliper parts. This is an excellent video. If I ever return to paint my calipers, ill use this as my inspiration.
Awesome job overall. It would have been nice to have some commentary on what product you used for paint, glue, lube etc. You could have added it in after as printed comment on the screen.
Exceptional. Thank you for this. I got absolutely hosed the last time I had my brakes done, I'm talking parts ruined, directionally slotted rotors on backwards, original factory hardware re-used at over 100k, the WORKS. I'm about to do the job myself the right way now that I have a garage, and I am really loving how helpful and well done this video is. PERFECT! Thank you!
Awesome job and they look terrific. Would powder coating them work better? You’re baking them anyways. It’s just a thought I had. Anyways love the video
The first time I sprayed a pair of front calipers I made a critical error. I primed them and and ceramic coated like I was spraying a car. I ended up with too many layers and ended up needing to sand out several layers for clips to fit correctly. The second I sprayed calipers, I dipped and dried them then sprayed- no prime. Much better result as I respray every brake change regardless due to need to clean dust and old grease out anyway. Cheers
Hello Nice vídeo, but i have a question I am installing my front calliper (motorbike) I did everything ok, and i did install piston inside But if i press front brake my piston doesnt move What is happening?
Great job. But it may be worth the effort for classic cars, when you can't get a new / remanufactured. I'm wondering if anybody tried to clean the caliper with citric acid and hot water without disassembling it (or taking out of the car). That could be much more interesting option. Rubber should be fine, but key points would be what can happen to the guide pins and can water get through the seals to the cylinder.
@@user-td9el2bn7o is that any special paint you need to cure or is it some kind of anti-rust Hammerite and curing it in the oven is a common thing to do?
It's special paint, it doesn't fully cure with air contact like normal paint, it must be heated than cool for it to harden. Benefit is it can survive much higher temps than normal pain and more chip resistant as it cures to a hard shell like finish. I would tell you the name of it but it's slipping my mind ... Powder coat paint
Why didn't you change the nipples, why did you paint the top of the pistons? I'd assume the paint will soon come off and potentially get stuck in the grease and foul up the seals.

the way this guy works and his tempo is so chill
Painted red for an extra 5hp, nice

@@fuzzylumpkins6034 Ah that's mad to hear mate, I need to do a brake job soon but trying to figure out some weird mechanical work of my car atm
Better would be pink calipers
Beautiful job. Love this video
Brake fluid in the drain. Bad bad bad. Lemon acid is citric acid.
brake fluid dissolves in water... just be sure to flush it really well and your drains wil be fine.
@@CrusinVKwhich obviously was not done. So...
Loved the video. relaxing 9 min video.
Better than new; great job; and covers all the bases !!!
Very nice 👍🏾🤎
Cheers from Queensland 🖐🏾🦘
Amazing Job. They look better that the new ones

Thanks a lot!! Lemon acid is a good thing when sandblasting is not available))
Finally someone did it correct, off the car. Great job mate!
Ive just copper greased all the brake pad contact point in my car today. Now ive seen your video i want to paint mine 😂. Awesome job 👍
Use brembo or ceramic grease instead of copper. I prefer brembo
your attention to detail is amazing

Lmao
Parabéns ótimo trabalho levaria faço as pinca do meu carro pra vc fazer este serviço sucesso...
Good job mate. 👍😎🇬🇧
Good job !!!
Well done 🥇
Putting them face down on the oven shelf when you baked them burned lines into the paint, didn’t it 😉
veeeery good work👍🏼👍🏼
amazing job ...
перчатули, тряпочки в цветочек... Я сначала сомневался, но когда автор слил тормозуху в раковину, сомнения пропали - это кто-то наш по менталитету=)))

А что не так с тормозной в раковине?

a litle bit longer than 9 minutes ... great workmanship!
Perfect JOB! 👍🏼
Good job man
oven cleaner followed by a hydrochloric acid dip of salt mixed with vinegar works well to clean the caliper parts.
You shouldn't pour any of that stuff down the drain, where it will contaminate the water supply.
😂😂
My boy really poured brake fluid down the drain. I didn't think people were actually that dumb
thanks great job
Old gaskets and caliper guides?
I would def use new seals.
Bravissimo complimenti
Nice job

Nice! Are mine next?
What temperature in the oven and how long
What was that black thing you sprayd on befor painting red?
this video is absolutely flawless
Wonderful!
Man this is like asmr for petrolheads.
Hello, good job !! is this High temperature aerosol ?
Why the Oven ? and what time/temp ?
Thank you.
Hello. What Is the kind of Grease you use for the pistons and the joint ?
ceramic
Will it not loose some metal skin on piston cylinder?
Watching these vids to get better ideas for my focus st500 callipers. Is the lemon acid for degreasing? Seems like it to me
yes weakens the rust
Amazing! Can I send my brake calipers to you? 🙂
Qual e o nome desse produto que ferre junto com a água pra tirar a contaminação da peça?
Thanks! How long and what temp in the oven please?
200 degree
Satisfying video
Pode me dizer qual a tinta spray que você utilizou
hello, what temperature and how much time did you put it in the oven?
The temperature and time required are specific to each paint used. Read the instructions.

Mine are horrible but work perfectly. I wish they looked good.
All that work and no metal protection no primer... DUDE! 🤷
What did you spray with?
lol!! Rusty Brake Caliper Restoration in 9 MINUTES...after 12 hours. :)
Also managed to have the piston housings rusty
No hate, just a point. He definitely did better than others out there
Hello
Nice vídeo, but i have a question
I am installing my front calliper (motorbike)
I did everything ok, and i did install piston inside
But if i press front brake my piston doesnt move
What is happening?
Something with brake fluid pressure, or stuck piston (unlikely)
What is that white you put on the water?
@3wood i wanna ask you how you feel about using a sand blast machine on the caliper or is it better to use lemon acid
i think sandblast is better) faster
he must really like those brake calipers....
Nice job!
Where did you flush the oil? 🙈

good 👍🏻💯💯
Merci
Is sea salt 🧂??
What's it called what you put in bucket with water
.also the spray you used.
Citric Acid
How many temperatures did you put in the oven for?
It Should say on the direction section with the paint product you buy
ру видео? маршал запчасти вроде только у нас продаются
Where are you located?
no grease on you guide pins ???and you should have replaced your seals at the some time
Ain't nobody got time for that!
Good job but next time, try Phosphoric acid
Question. why does you put in an oven to bake after painting?
so the paint cures
@@user-td9el2bn7o is that any special paint you need to cure or is it some kind of anti-rust Hammerite and curing it in the oven is a common thing to do?
This is literally a mid 2010 ford transit connect brake caliber
Luckily, I have a neighbor that can powder coat. :)
Und alle schön in den Abfluss rein🫣
I live in Canada, I have never seen a caliber that clean taken off a car 🚗
😂👍
yes, do the acid wash right in front of your computer next to the keyboard. yesss...
What kind of glue is this? 7:39
What's the purpose of throwing everything in the oven after it's been painted?

well i wasn't GOING to do this.... but now....I kinda want to take mine back apart...
If he is pouring brake fluid down the drain I bet he is eating out of that stove. The off gas from the paint will get in your food.
Baking Bad....😂😂😂😂
Did this guy just dump that shit down the drain. Wtf!
I think you need to invest is a wire brush
