Nothing like a finishing a project that a person had to force themselves to do. Well done sir.

Creative use of figures on hand! Excellent effort to give unit stands unique figures within the stands.

A very nice army, I'm just building a similar army and seeing your work has inspired me. Thanks

I know it's not great historically, but I do standard for all units except skirmishers. I do 3 60mm bases, for a 180mm frontage, with the center one being where I put the command too. Easy to put them in line or in a column for marching. I do 36 figures for nepolionic armies but 18 figures for all other times. I really like the victrix as well.
    Lovely figures.

Impressive Republican Roman Army Showcase, well done. I like the basing and unit build you done. Also intressting your trick to use contrast paint for shields. I need to pick up some romans from my pile of shame. Great video. 👍😀

Thanks mate! I really find the drybrush base takes some ofthat strange artificial look that contrast paints have on flat surfaces

Great looking army, your legionary units are perfect size, large units would have the same again with based in a row behind making 32 figures. Frontage itself only needs to match the opposition.... which you provide anyway. Great job!

The units were of 1,200 or if reinforced, 2,000, comprising for instance the hastati of the first legion, the principes of the second legion, the velites (or cavalry) of the legions, the picked troops of the allies etc

Great series my friend. I have a load of Victrix republicans to paint and I’m definitely going to try some of these techniques. Out of interest, do you think it would work well to use contrast paints instead of glazes for the tunics etc? Thanks so much for doing this anyway.

That not all in pack you have
    36 legionaries
    18 velites
    3 Commander
    3 Signifers
    So
    You don't paint all army
    😀😀

  • @KrystianKomosa
    @KrystianKomosa ปีที่แล้ว

    This wrong size...
Size in scale if you have 12 hastati, 12 principis and 12 velites you must have 6 triarii...
So if you build army of 2 hastati and 2 principes you mus have next 6 triarii....
Your army have 4 Units hastati 4 principes but only 2 triarii but painting is nice...
You mus buy Allied Legion and upgrade army
