When you first added coolant did you any heat at all? And did you notice if the thermostat open at all when you first added? My fx35 thermostat hasn’t open at all and I never get heat at any RPMs..
So I did this and added the first gallon. 2 quarts at a time every minute like you said until came up the bleeder valve close bleeder valve and radiator cap and warmed up to normal running temperature reved to 3000 rpm 10 sec 3 times waited for it to cool down check the bleeder valve and it was topped up from first try temperature gauge stayed normal until took it out for a drive temperature gauge went up what should I do ?
Did you only add the first gallon? If so after the car cools down you should be able to add the other gallon then do the start up, plus rev to 3k, bleed procedure and then you should be good bro
Hello friends,i like your videovery much.Plz tell me how can i get the maintenance manual like yours.I live in CHINA,but there is nothing about my 06 g35 coupe.THX.
How long have you been running the premix Prestone 50/50? I've read mixed reviews for the VQ on if you should stick with OE nissan blue/green coolant or not.
Rex Erection been recorded that people don’t have problems with GREEN, quality coolants. oem if you want to be extra safe, but if you don’t cheap out too hard and know what you’re doing you should be fine
Every time that you rev it and check the coolant , do you keep flushing it out or are you just topping off every time until it comes out of the bleeder valve ?
Would it be a bad idea to do this while having an exhaust leak? Just wondering, since my Z is both overheating and i have to get the ehxaust leak fixed.
Only if your having overheating problems. You will know that the thermostat is out when you have never had that issue before and one day it just starts to climb. Then the next day will be fine. That when you know your thermostat is going out. 👍🏻👍🏻
Hey, I have a 2004 G35 and the heat does not kick on. I noticed that as I'm driving the engine cold/hot indicator goes from normal to hot then backs down then goes back up again. The coolant level when engine is cold looks normal. Does this sound like the same issue as this video or could it be the thermostat?
Just did this on an 06 350z and yeah it is a pain right? Only thing I did differently is I actually poured coolant into the bleeder valve at first very slowly and then after putting cap back on I started up and revved it and the. Waited for the fan to kick on and then I slowly loosened the valve while it was running I believe and waited for the hissing to go away before taking it off completely. The whole time I was scared as shit I was gonna have coolant shoot up into my face but it never did and thankfully this way saved me a lot of time. Took about 5-7 times of this way but I didn’t have to open the radiator cap.
Interesting how even when you show people exactly how to do something according to the facory service manual, they decide no I am doing it my way. You are not the only one, but you are the only 1 who suceeded doing it different. People are funny. They do it differently than as instructed in this video and then take the time to message me asking why it didn't work for them?
My coolant came out darker than duck shit green... New coolant in looked like highlighter yellow... Tho my car never overheated even when constantly pushed to over 6k rpm... I poored in coolant 5x as slow and I only had to bleed 3 times.
I have a 2007 g35. I drained my coolant system a month or 2 ago. And the hose where my bleeder value should be at isn’t there. It’s just one hose and that’s the hose that popped. How can I make sure this doesn’t happen again? And bleed my system properly
That plastic bleeder is an injury lawsuit waiting to happen! I had one explode on me when the engine was hot. Good thing I didnt get burned! Z1 motorsports has them made out of metal and I suggest anybody with a G35 or Z get one for the reliability alone which makes it safer!
I was actually going to order a new plastic 1 because of the o-ring, which I've never replaced. Thank you sir! I just placed my order from Z1....www.z1motorsports.com/cooling/z1-motorsports/z1-coolant-bleeder-port-heater-hose-p-11190.html
Be careful with the z1 bleeder valve mines the top part where u bleed it fron stripped out super easy.i cant get all the bubbles out my system but i only rev up 3000 rpms maybe the 10000 rpms will work great vid again
You are spot on with your comments. I had to replace my 04 Z33 plastic bleeder valve to the Z1motorsports one because it was so brittle that it crumbled and broke of while removing the hose to do the Z1 Motorsports silicone hose kit.
The body on the Z1 motorsports is aluminum and the screw is brass with an o ring. Take your time screwing it in or you can strip the threads. The part cost under $30.00
Great video - Thanks for posting it! Question: Was flushing the coolant part of bleeding the system or did you just need to replace old coolant? It is already full once you see coolant in the bleeder valve.
Question...so my friend and I replaced the radiator and fluids and bleed it. I don’t remember if we went to the bleeder valve. Well...is it normal to have the radiator fluid reservoir tank filled PAST Max capacity? The thing is...I never filled it past Max ever. Thanks
Nice G Channel , following
You'll have to bleed it through the radiator fill hole let it burp the bubbles till you only see coolant flowing in your funnel
Great video as always. Speaking of the undershield, im due for a replacement. Do you recommend a specific one? The OEM one is trash.
Order a metal one from Toll Booth Willey
Z1 Motorsports has a really nice one as.well
Thanks guys i appreciate it. The one on Z1 motorsports is pretty sick. Do you guys have one yourself thats aluminum or metal? Any rattling noises?
@@vgyvgoiy ..No rattling noises. Mine is from TBW which stands for toll booth willey. It is powdercoated black and is aluminum. Jon in Vegas had these shields first before z1. If you are old enough, you will know toll booth willey is from an old Adam Sandler skit which is hilarious. That was Jon's name on the fourms before he started his business and he kept his screen name for the business.
Motordyne G35 Thanks alot!
Hey just got a P0106 code on my 2012 g37, is this a common code and if so what usually causes it? (72000 miles) Thanks and love the vids 💪🏻
I think may be fuel pump
When you first added coolant did you any heat at all? And did you notice if the thermostat open at all when you first added? My fx35 thermostat hasn’t open at all and I never get heat at any RPMs..
Hi what up motordyne.
Is this procedure flush a 100% of the old coolant?
Or you need to do something else to accomplish that.
Thanks for sharing. 👍
Did u ever find out?? I'm having similar provlems
I got mine from Nicoclub.com. Just google something like "nico club g35 service manual"
pro tip if you can’t do it with jacks pack on a hill so your car is doing a 9 o clock wheele
How many times did you have to bleed it?
nice hopefully this is similar to my altima coupe vq35
is coolant cleaner solution safe to use on a g35 can i do that process before putting in my normal coolant?
Great video. Bleeder screw same location on maxima 3.5l? Thanks
Topping it off. You would quickly figure out the other way is impossible. You are not draining fluid out of the system, you are getting the air out.
Would it be a bad idea to do this while having an exhaust leak? Just wondering, since my Z is both overheating and i have to get the ehxaust leak fixed.
I try to add antifreeze but i don't see nothing in the bleeder, like yours. Am I doing something wrong
Hey buddy doing this procedure now. But at the end I notice when it's full you didn't mention what to top the reservoir at. Could you help thanks!
Just before max line , kinda common sense.
@@jayb7796 wait what? I filled it to the top! 🙄
Do you have to replace the thermostat as well once you do this?
Only if your having overheating problems. You will know that the thermostat is out when you have never had that issue before and one day it just starts to climb. Then the next day will be fine. That when you know your thermostat is going out. 👍🏻👍🏻
being a g35 driver myself, shiuldnt that be green or blue coolant?
Hey, I have a 2004 G35 and the heat does not kick on. I noticed that as I'm driving the engine cold/hot indicator goes from normal to hot then backs down then goes back up again. The coolant level when engine is cold looks normal. Does this sound like the same issue as this video or could it be the thermostat?
Air in the system
@@zod6350 It turned out to be the thermostat. I had it fixed 2 months ago. Thanks for the suggestion though. I appreciate it.
Wait so after coolant starts to come out the bleeder valve, do you plug it and pour the rest of the coolant until you’ve used up all 2 gallons?
My coolant came out darker than duck shit green... New coolant in looked like highlighter yellow... Tho my car never overheated even when constantly pushed to over 6k rpm... I poored in coolant 5x as slow and I only had to bleed 3 times.
hey when your about to start the car up after filling the bleeder screw cap thingy, do you have to fill up the reservoir first then start it?
My bad 2000 rpms
You are spot on with your comments. I had to replace my 04 Z33 plastic bleeder valve to the Z1motorsports one because it was so brittle that it crumbled and broke of while removing the hose to do the Z1 Motorsports silicone hose kit.
The body on the Z1 motorsports is aluminum and the screw is brass with an o ring. Take your time screwing it in or you can strip the threads. The part cost under $30.00
Great video - Thanks for posting it! Question: Was flushing the coolant part of bleeding the system or did you just need to replace old coolant?
I already have good coolant in my car, but need to bleed the air in the system. I'm wondering if I need to flush my good coolant first before doing the air bleed.
You don’t need to
