This might be my favourite video on the internet, I've watched this so many times and annoyed so many people with how fantastic I think this is. Thank you for creating this Rob, this has brought so much joy to my life. Also mad props to all the involved people that created this spectacular performance (the freaking dance choreo is soooo good) out of nothing other than a desire to troll Shia LaBoeuf and to the man himself for showing up.
Genuinely though, it's a great musically and vocally, has great dancing (Which only intensifies as it continues), and is excellent comedically. Brian David Gilbert taught me the word Gesamtkunstwerk, which roughly translates as a "total work of art" and describes an artwork, design, or creative process where different art forms are combined to create a single cohesive whole. This is a gesamtkunstwerk.
I think the ending with Shia being not only present but actually the only audience, and giving a standing ovation, is at least half of this video's magic. It just wouldn't be the same without that.
Historical studies are going to be very difficult if the future cultures don’t understand the numerous styles of humor we have today. It’s pretty bizarre.
Debating? We all know about the veracity of it and if there were cover-ups, sealed court cases, redacted files, injunctions, and media suppression surrounding it. We need to be more clear so that there's no debating the facts in the future.
I love how dramatic it is despite its silly themes. I have heard this several times over the past 10 years and until now didnt know it was by rob cantor. genuinely legendary video.
My favorite aspect of this video is how it keeps getting more and more involved. It starts with one man talking with backing music. Then it reveals to have a couple of dancers, an orchestra, and a choir, then comes in more dancers and a child’s chorus. Then giant headed dancers and a bigger choir. Then comes in the ribbon dancers. And then Shia himself clapping. It just keeps upping the ante every chance it gets.

Years ago when this first came out, my husband printed out pictures of Shia LeBeouf with the words "Shia Surprise!" and hid them around the house. There's still one in our bathroom medicine cabinet, which is great fun for guests who snoop where they shouldn't.

Gnawing off your leg quiet quiet 😂
***** Well, in the context of the song it is.
***** 'Shia surprise!'
"But you can do juijitsu" is the most interesting thing I've learned in second-person perspective.
Bodyslam superstar Shia LaBeouf
Severely underrated comment
I like the reassuring "you can do it" they follow with, as if to subside any doubt you understandably have
@@luthandomdadane
Actually he says “and do it well” I’m pretty sure - which is still reassuring any doubts, because now you know you’re not just shit at it - you’ve got skills
what about "you have just decapitated Shia LaBeouf"?
One "Like" is simply inadequate. This has brought me so much joy over so many years.
Imagine getting to say "My first singing job was in a childrens choir singing about Shia Labouf being a murderer"
A surprise, for sure, but a welcome one
Juan Rabson a Shia surprise
These kids are beyond bless for having such an experience bwahahaha
"with shia labeouf as the only audience member"
@@K1NG0FW0LV35 "The entire audience gave us a standing ovation"
I think this is the most high effort shitpost anybody will ever make.
Try "It just works!" By The Chalkeaters a parody song of Todd Howard its pretty good and is very catchy
Nah, shitposting specifically means low quality and trying to flood out the intention of a forum or site with garbage.
This is fine art meme status.

This… this is art in its highest form. We’ve peaked as a society.
you are 100% correct
Genuinely though, it's a great musically and vocally, has great dancing (Which only intensifies as it continues), and is excellent comedically.
Brian David Gilbert taught me the word Gesamtkunstwerk, which roughly translates as a "total work of art" and describes an artwork, design, or creative process where different art forms are combined to create a single cohesive whole.
This is a gesamtkunstwerk.
You've clearly never seen r/place amogi.
I agree that this is art it its highest form, but I would argue that we peaked as a society with the advent of Memed Hams
I guess it only goes down from here
When I fell on a rake in 2015 and punctured my left lung, Shia Labeouf was there. He wasn't smiling or anything, he just nodded in approval. It hurt.
how did you escape?
@@Tulip_bip No sport.
clearly you werent at your peak and such, shia only hunting those worthy to kill him, left you alone
He was nodding to the rake not you.
The rake or the nod?
When you die your voice gets added to the chorus of this song
God, I hope so! 😇
Suicide rate rises to 100%
My favorite part about this comment implies that your voice is added to a gay mens choir when you die and thats beautiful
This is heaven, the afterlife of hell is being added to the Seinfeld laughtarck
it’s a gay men’s choir so i can’t wait
I am still impressed to this day. Someone wrote a musical/ballet and it’s just so unhinged and so perfect.
I think the ending with Shia being not only present but actually the only audience, and giving a standing ovation, is at least half of this video's magic. It just wouldn't be the same without that.
That's what makes it a "pay off" :)
It references "Citizen kane"
He looks certifiably insane, like he commissioned this
you now have 666 likes :)
Oh yeah I agree
Just imagine future historians debating whether or not Shia Labeouf is a cannibal or not
Debating artiefarties WOW❗
Historical studies are going to be very difficult if the future cultures don’t understand the numerous styles of humor we have today. It’s pretty bizarre.
Debating? We all know about the veracity of it and if there were cover-ups, sealed court cases, redacted files, injunctions, and media suppression surrounding it. We need to be more clear so that there's no debating the facts in the future.
@@Dan-ch8kv why did they worship a gorilla and stick their genitalia out for him? Hindu god?
No debate will be necessary. By then frensics should finally be able to account for all his victims.
"But you can do ju-jitsu" is the greatest line in music history.

‘Actual cannibal Shia Lebouef’
No its "Shia surprise!"
I'll raise you:
"Legendary fight with Shia LaBouef,
normal Tuesday night for Shia LaBouef"
"Wait, he isn't dead! Shia Surprise!"
I love how dramatic it is despite its silly themes. I have heard this several times over the past 10 years and until now didnt know it was by rob cantor. genuinely legendary video.
Why does the kid who said "quiet quiet" look like he actually saw Shia lebeouf kill someone
he did
he was told to keep "quiet quiet" about seeing it
He saw something.
I just got up to the door and I saw it
@@ZoeBateman He was so traumatized that those were the last words he would ever speak again.
The fact they made a children choir sing "You have just decapitated Shia LaBeouf"
The children need to know how to defend themselves from Shia LeBeouf, so this is secretly a blessing.
WAIT HE ISN'T DEAD *" S H I A S U P R I S E!"*
what an honour, right?
@@SeriousBusinessman. every kid should be taught as soon as they can walk. That's the ones he goes for anyway

This is undeniably a work of genius.

Jerky .Murky I'm at work. code doesn't write itself.
Apparently writing code also means shia labeouf, shia labeouf.
Brian Mandara Yeah Scott, no having diverse interests!
Scott Manley maybe it can or would it be a virus then?
That look on Shia's face at the end of the video...you know everything in the song is true.
it's a literal copy of Citizen Kane's clapping scene. An homage, I'd say
The look of a man who has been decapitated before
Little do you know that Shia is actually just a title, and the act of taking his life transfers the title to the killer...
I gained so much respect for him in that one moment. To actively participate in the video for a song that is taking the piss out of you is just fantastic.
Yea exactly so why is nobody talking about how they make actors do this kind of shit? This is why they get famous to begin with. Nobody is paying attention.
I feel like one of the more underrated verses is
"Legendary fight with Shia LaBeouf!
Normal Tuesday night for Shia LaBeouf."

that is what i noticed as well! you and I are the same!!!!
"That's a normal Tuesday night for you?"
"No doubt."

The choir in the background is putting in the work.
Anyone else just randomly remember that this thing exists and come back to witness it again? This is what the internet was made for-
All these years later, I still come back, because as well as being a genuinely amazing and entertaining piece of surrealist art, it's an absolute banger.

Years ago when this first came out, my husband printed out pictures of Shia LeBeouf with the words "Shia Surprise!" and hid them around the house. There's still one in our bathroom medicine cabinet, which is great fun for guests who snoop where they shouldn't.
I love that so much

Omg. When this first came out I send Shia surprise texts and had a framed pic of him at my desk. I should probably put him up on my art gallery wall now.

I love everything about this: the music, the just DEAD SERIOUSNESS of everyone, the fact that they got a chorus of KIDS, the line “normal Tuesday night for Shia LeBeouf,” the EXPRESSION OF PURE FEAR AND REGRET on one of the close up shots on the chorus! I could go on for hours. We have reached the peak of theater
