This man is a fucking genius. He sang a song called "Art is dead" bashing on self obsessed celebrities, actors and comics as he put it. He did this in a show in a room full of comics and actor in a show with a budget and all the bell and all the bell and whistles. Shoved it right in their face as they laughed nervously.
One of the others he was speaking to(because this was a sit down thing where they were all talking) asked him specifically to play that song, and they ended up talking about why he asked him to play that specific song during the talk. It's like an hour long sit down and chat thing.

"Art is dead" is truly on a different level. His audience in that version were comedians and, although they laughed along, you can see on their faces that his words were hitting nerves and making them hear things they didn't want to consider. That is not a comedy song, it is a crisis and they knew it but they laughed to distract from it all. Bo knew how to make it hit just a little harder, too. The original lyrics were "But I wanted my name in lights when I could've fed a family of four..." In the greenroom, they changed. "We wanted our name in lights when we could've fed a family of four." And the accusatory glance when he sang "There's other people, you selfish asshole" was just... he his an excellent performer.

i just feel that "from God's perspective" is one of the most valuable lesson he has taught me
It definitely forced me to challenge a lot of stereotypes forced upon me by my family.
It just might be. And biblically, it's true. No one goes Heaven. Says so several times. Only god, angels, and Jesus are there (John 3:13). We'll be lucky if he brings it to earth and brings back a few of us boring ass filthy humans to visit its physical manifestation every once in a while. Biblically speaking. My gripe has always been, all holy text were written by man. As was all of the dead religions, so what makes these valid except mass acceptance of that idea? Nothing. I’m not saying there ISNT a god, but maybe we need to understand religion more as philosophy made by humans than bestowed upon people by some omnipotent sky guy

You know, for a comedy song, that's a pretty hard hitting and true line
Personally I think 'on a scale of one to zero are you happy' is one of his most unintentionally painful lines.
Watching back old videos, I now see the anxiety, depression, and panic happening all over Bo’s body language. After hearing “Make Happy” again, it made me tear up now knowing what he went through. I have depression, anxiety, and know how those can affect every day life.
Also, watching “Inside”, it hit close to home with his experiences.
Thank you, Bo, for all the intensely deep thoughts evoked through your music.

@@itzolive3738 he disappeared for a while. He was and is battling mental health issues (I don’t know what) and he wasn’t and isn’t happy with how comedy has panned out. The more you watch him, the more the innuendos, comedic responses to serious issues, etc. the more you will understand how he views the world as it really is. How the people he looked up to are now people he doesn’t like. (Maybe even despises).

That one left me so shocked and stunned and sad for him, for us, for the world. I am amazed at how he could take such sadness and craziness in the world and his feelings about it and turn it into art....beautiful music. But, I love his honesty and putting himself out there, for others who maybe struggle with these similar feelings. I am a forever Bo fan!

i only ever thought about it after i heard this song, but when you hate smth, it's always with a passion. You don't hate smth or smn for the sake of hating, that's rarely done or only done out of boredom. But if you truly hate smth, it's an obsession. The more you occupy yourself with it, the more you know about it, hear about, live with it until it becomes a part of you. What else could happen, if you keep smth around yourself for long enough? If you're into plants and keep being into plants, it's at some point a big part of your life because you have a bunch of plants crwoding your entire living space (I'm talking about my mom. She has an obsession with orchids, she has over 40 of them suckers). Same goes with stuff you hate. You keep it around yourself and oneday it *is* you.
Happiness is different tho. It's not a thing, it's smth purely manmade, a concept. Like beauty. If you obsess enough about beauty, you will have a toxic relationship with your appearence and that of others. So why would it be different with happiness? Bo's song kinda proves this point. He sings an entire song about happiness, asking people what it is and wether they have it, how they achieve it, etc.

Art is dead is my favorite. Not because it’s relatable on a comedian or artist level. Just a personal level, I feel like I’m telling lies to everyone. I cried when I listened to the whole thing. It’s a huge vent if you truly look at the lyrics. It shows Bo’s thoughts. He may feel bad for being a comedian, which I relate to. It’s what he’s known for, being stupidly happy. Not being sad, not mad, the funny guy. I’m the funny guy..the guy who can’t talk about his feelings, cause every time he does he makes a joke about it to cope. Then everyone brushes it off like it isn’t a cry for help.

Everyone's talking about how funny the songs are and how deep Art is dead is and World on Fire, but no one is talking about how deep the ending on Gods Perspective is. "You pray so badly for Heaven, knowing any day might be the day that you die. But maybe life on Earth could be heaven, doesn't just the thought of it make it worth a try. My loves the type of thing taht you earn and when you earn it, you won't need it.... I'm not going to give you love just cuz I know that you want me to, if you want love then the love has got to come from you."

I find it quite the harsh advice because if someone is suicidal then this might encourage the idea of the world being better off without them, but it makes sense to me... kinda...

The lyrics in, “From God’s Perspective” is great but I think the best part of that is his intro to it and how intentionally contradictory it is to his song. I cannot believe I only learned about him less than a year ago. He is great
I’m 100% atheist but the song from the perspective of god still really gets to me. “My love’s the kind of thing that you have to earn, and when you earn it, you won’t need it.”
There are tons of religions that think that you should act for God's love, not hope for it.

The quote comes from the fact that if you deserve God's love, it's because you have become such a good person that God's love is no longer necessary to make you complete

Faith and how you carry out your faith through actions and words is what matters. God knows your heart. Whether you like it or not. Humans do not make the rules of nature we only observe and name them. God made all the laws of physics and we just put names to it. Basically im just saying belief alone doesnt mean it to be true. You could say the same about christianity but the Bible is found to be historically accurate by many historians and atheist scientists. They agree there is a creator for the most part because they are logical and have explored alternative ways the universe created. Everything just leads to big bang or a creator(God). Much more likely there is a God(im christian) simply because we have the quality of God which is being creative and God created tons of specific and amazing things. Im not going to explain further God bless.

Bo is the kind of guy who can insult his entire crowd and it'll still make everyone laugh. He gives no shits and gets away with it
A lot of people say that Bo isn’t funny, or that the song format he uses makes the jokes have less of an impact. But I feel that the whole point of his act is to make you laugh and then make you feel bad for laughing by using his song format to really drive home that feeling of going of course. Like how in a lot of the more meta songs the chirpy melody devolves into him just angrily smashed the keys.
Vote for me Prince Edgar i think his style of presenting is jokes are too much for many people to grasp properly so they just say they’re not as impactful because they don’t get the jokes lol
And the worst is that his show is so meticuletly prescise that i know he meant every single off note and and breaking of the voice

That “wait a minute” was then realizing that they were NOT laughing WITH him, because he wasn’t laughing at all.
They most likely presumed that he was laughing inside too, but he wasn’t, and when they realized that, then it hits them.
That’s my take on it anyway.
