I have trouble understanding the difference between V3 and V4 CPUs. You have to use a V3 to be able to do the trick for all core turbo boost ?
Yes. V4 does not support TBU.
Hi Miyconst, I had my Huananzhi X99 QD4 functioning all right with 2667-V3 cpu turboboosted for the last three months. A week ago, my PSU died and I had to buy a new 80plus bronce psu. However, when I replaced the psu, got no screen display but fan coolers were working. I am afraid I have a bricked motherboard. What should I do? Maybe I can revert the original bios? I would appreciate your advise
It's more likely that your PSU also killed the motherboard, also could be the other way around. The motherboard fried and killed the PSU. Anyway, this video shows how to unbrick a motherboard. th-cam.com/video/4qX2zihB6UE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Jg10atPuGcnuxgAg
@@Miyconst thank you. I will check the video
qd4 with 2680v4 and rx5700xt will it last long? have i to worry about durability? or should i invest in bd4
You always need to care and worry about longevity whenever you buy anything from AliExpress.
@@Miyconst and bro what is should buy. 2680v4 or 2690v3. i work a lot in Photoshop and sometimes render video. i stop playing games few years ago but sometimes maybe i will play again
@@Miyconst 2680v4 is 10€ more expensive
E5-2690 V3 requires TBU, consumes significantly more power, and performance is slightly better. Now you can decide what's more valuable for you. 😀
👍
Hey there
Im a student and currently in a state where every bit of my money counts (i have a bit of money saved), so with that in mind, could you please tell me the best x99 aliexpress motherboard and cpu combo to go for? Ill be getting a second hand cheap rx 580 to pair with it. Also planning to get 2 sticks of killsre 8gb ddr4 ram. Ill be using my PC for my studies and doing gaming (i ideally want to run newest games best settings 1080p above 30fps).
You are an expert so your help will be greatly appreciated 💙
If you can't afford loosing your money - stay away from AliExpress. Whatever you buy from Ali is a lottery. Still, if you insist, then Machinist X99-PR9 with a V4 Xeon would be my recommendation. If you want specific links - text me on Discord.
Hey there I just joined your server as unknown apocalypse@@Miyconst
can someone remind what video talks about X99-H5 ?
I don't think I have tested this exact motherboard, that's probably why you can't find the review link.
I think a saw mention to an H5 on some video, it was 3 motherboard all like the same, so you spoke about one. But I think you right, maybe was not h5 but other label. The model is showing me to be at 32 eur on 17jun. For that is promising all possible issues with Chinese boards, but I have a few spare CPUs to play with that.
Hello may I know any X99 board can use xeon e5-2600 v4 CPU having sleep mode and hibernate mode in Windows works please? 🙏
Take a look at Machinist X99-MR9A but sleep mode is a lottery.
Thanks Miyconst for your kind reply. May I know if any option for sleep & M-ATX please? According your QD4 2024 review it doesn't support sleep mode too... deadly need a smaller form factor mobo😥
@@asterisk-h if you need a stable working sleep mode - skip Chinese motherboards. As I have said, it's a lottery. Some of my X99-QD4 and X99-RS9 boards had working sleep mode but not all.
I bought a lga 1155 mobo for the same price as a x99 mobo on a 67% sale, a Huge L for me
I build my girlfriend a gaming pc with the X99-D4, it ran only 96gb/128gb when using ecc ddr4 32gb stick but runs perfectly quad channel with 4x8gb ddr4 3600Mhz crucial modules. Added the turbo boost unlock mod and the cpu is the 2690v3. Cooling is hyper212evo with pushpull fans, 120mm fan as exaust and 140mm artic fan as intake blowing over the motherboard and vrm, the vrm heatsink and back of the board(with thermal lasergun) read 48-55°c.
She loves the pc and with a GTX1070 it runs all games she plays, even if the build is a wanna apple mac in the Aerocool CS-109 :D
That's a lovely build for very little money!
@@Miyconst thats the thing i love about it she has 32gb ram and 12c cpu so she can edit video or try rendering images or videos and iits pretty quick. For the same price as the X99 combo with out the ram i could only get i3-10100f with out the board
looks really similar to the g629a and h629 motherboards
also in the previous video for TPM module I was referring to g629a as the qd4 clone
In that case the reversed TPM 2.0 module might be compatible with the clone.

Why are all these motherboards called X99? There is no x99 chipset?!..
Probably because the name sells and Chinese want to sell.
@@Miyconst My MSI X99 SLI PLUS motherboard just failed. What is a good replacement for this? So i can use my i7 5820K again.

Who, in their right mind, uses X99?
For example me.
People who need lots of PCIe lanes, for example

Are there other good budget MATX boards with quad channel memory? I have an original QD4 that is beginning to show signs of failure, refusing to display an image with some GPUs. I want to order a new board to replace it but I'm not sure I want to trust the QD4 again.
Any Chinese motherboard is a lottery, even if you buy a tested and proven board you still may get a defective one. In general, take a look at Machinist X99-RS9 and MR9A if you can go to the ATX size.
Hey, many thanks for replying! The RS9 looks like a good option if I decide I really want quad channel and MATX form factor. I was considering the PR9 as it's very cheap, but the I'm not sure I want to drop 2 channels.
