Don’t really understand I guess how that works. If the wire is running up to the ac power up then what goes back to the sub? Because what it appears to me is it comes off the sub hook up which is a output only not a input so what port do you connect to to go up to the ac power up?
My guy rewatch the video big blue/purple 4 gauge wire goes to the battery. The grey big 4 gauge goes to any ground wire; you can put it on the seat mount bolt. Then your red and white wires go up to the radio followed by the amp start wire, or REM on the amp. Then your sub wire goes to the + and - on the amp (small holes) blue to red and grey to Black. + is blue on amp - is grey on amp
It just depends on what you drive, just have to take time and examine the wire diagram to find a good turn on or off for the radio. Some cars come Factory with an amp on off so it all depends

okay guys, most, if not all stereos come with a remote turn on wire. its most likely your blue wire. and don't splice into a wire that isn't meant for it. reason for this. normally when you turn on your car or truck it will go from 12V before starting to between 13.3V - 14.5V. it will fuck your shit up!. the BLUE TURN ON WIRE ONLY RUNS 12V, AGAIN ONLY 12V. not no 12.3V or 13.5V. 12V!!! do it right the first time. use butt connecters for a stable connection, not no dang electrical tape.... gezz..... if your gonna spice wire, use a correct Spicer. correctly, its like a T.
7 months and redneck science continues to work perfectly. Also to my credit a 2000 gmc Jimmy with whatever stereo it had from the factory I forgot at this point. Their is no remote turn on wire and I even had a wire kit for it. Appreciate the criticism tho dead ass.
14.4v on amp specs is good power according to manufacture of most car audio company's but yea "don't fuck your shit up" lol wonder how hot that guy's amp gets "not fucking his shit up" with low voltage and max volume with all knobs to right! Shits bumpin tho 😂
Stock is ok for anything under 2400 at that point you will start hurting the alt. The kit is 1200watt amp for the 12s and 10s. 8s are a 700 and the three eights are 1200.

I would normally recommend keeping the fuse away from the interior of cars as shown in my upcoming video I’m editing. Bad things can happen if that fuse fails and it’s better to get metal hot rather than burn a car down
I had a friend run the wire through the door, guess what happened, got called over the loud speaker at the bowling alley that his truck was on fire in the parking lot. Moral of story, wires we hot, metal to metal, caused a short and truck went up in a blaze. Anybody reading this DO NOT RUN WIRES THROUGH THE DOOR!
At no point is any of this good advice. You don't run your power wire through your door jams. Your amp should be mounted not loose to fly around. Use proper connections to keep wire from fraying and potentially shorting out. Let's not get started on that mess in his dash, after all he cut out his factory harness.
So I am fully aware it’s wrong and if you would have listened I said my way and then tell how to do right way my style is quick messy safe and it works. The big hitch is explaining where the wires go and then showing HOW I did it then saying use a rubber grommet behind the fire wall and I didn’t cut the harness buddy I bought an adapter kit for it
I can tell you I ran my power wire through my door like that and it did take about a year and a 1/2 but it did rub through the wire and it will 100% happen it does take time though and you're talking well over a year so I mean fuck it I guess but the right way is to drill your own hole in the firewall takes 2 minutes that's why every every wiring kit comes with a grammar 😉
I wrap my wires together tightly so I can’t pull them apart then tightly wrap it in electrical tape to prevent surges or damage to equipment. That just one way to do it tho
I lost count of how many mistakes you made on just throwing in the system and this is mistakes that could critically hurt the output of your product first off you didn't send any grounds second you're using a $15 Jensen head unit on a 1500 woofer amp you're going to be amplifying nothing but distortion if you run the ground wire close to the amp that's right however the power wire should never go on the passenger side of the car there is no grommets there on the driver side there's plenty you run your RCA and your remote on the passenger side and your power wire on the driver side you keep elaborating on white is Right channel and red is Left channel sir that is a monoblock subwoofer amp it doesn't matter which side is which you are elaborating on the terminal of the back of the box red is positive and black is ground that is a mono signal coming from a woofer amp it does not matter which direction you install those wires another mistake you have that subwoofer amp right on the back of the box anybody that knows stereo systems you never mount a circuit board which that is what an amplifier is as a circuit board to the back of anything that's going to extensively vibrate like subwoofers duh you go through this big long tutorial about how to hook the remote wire up to the ignition switch side just splice into that wire no wrong the back of that cheap ass Jensen radio has a blue remote wire there what do you know all I'm trying to say from commenting on this video is before you go and act like you know everything and make some big video guiding others do some research so you're not another idiot out there blind leading the blind if you're going to ask Mark try to be smart
And oh my God never I repeat never close your f****** power wire into your door if it cuts through that wire for any reason and your fuse don't blow it will burn your car to the ground and you may not be getting any water into your Chevy Blazer but 97% of other vehicles if you run the wire through the door and it rains you got a pond in your floorboard with a bunch of trash and cigarette butts and s*** floating in it so please use this as constructive criticism take this video down do some research try to seem like a smarter person don't be arrogant when there's nothing there to be arrogant about
Because when you do some research you're going to find out that is a few steps you forgot like finding the amplifiers clip point and clocking in the bass knob getting that part set and also which frequency to set the crossover on what point do you want it to cross over but I guess you're right it is at least making noise the way you done it how long it's going to work that is the question that is a prime example of a lot of people I know that will just pay some crackhead $20 to throw the system in out in the driveway real quick that's the kind of job that you done it's a $20 crackhead install

Your amp is under powered but I see no other issues other than that
@@Digital_Tea yes but with the kit if you were to buy the amp and the subwoofers together skar sells it with a 800 watts amp that is why I asked and the sub has to be more powerful then the amp or if reversed the subs can blow
You should do a demo video. Also how do these sound?
Made a demo video
I have a 2017 bmw. Since i have somewhat of a newer car do i still need to buy a new radio or no?
Depends on if ur stock have left and right channels
Tutorial on how Not to install a Skar Stereo System.
the sub wiring is fine the only thing fucked is the radio wiring which has since been fixed
@@Digital_Tea so the power wire going to the amplifier is fine?
@@frankplancarte yep because it’s pushed against rubber. And that door is never opened. So in my specific case as I stated it’s completely fine and functional
Lmao @@frankplancarte
Thank you
No problem bro
This might be a dumb question but I know how to everything thanks to your vid but where do I connect the speaker wires to the actually sub itself I don’t see anywhere they go on it. I have a 12 in 1200 amp skar
On the side there are a red and black spring loaded buttons push them down put stripped wire in and let it pinch
Bro what kinda wire you use? What's the battery cable brand and speaker wire ?
It’s all in the skar kit but is oxygen free 4 gauge speaker wire and it’s just rual king battery terminal brand they are like 10 bucks for 6 of them or something
Are u using a Loc if so what kind
No
is blue light on amp supposed to turn off?
Once the car is off it should turn off
My GND cable seems super small I need to know where to connect it. I’m a girl I got a sub speaker and I have no one to teach me so please just help me hook this expensive thing up so I can vibe in the car I’m begging
do you have the amp and sub as well.
You will need your power wires all connected to the right places like in the video.
Hey sorry I didn’t see your comment I assume after 2 months you probably found someone to figure it out but if u need help lmk
@@Digital_Tea finally got a person who’s going to hook it all up for me for free!! I’m prewiring the amp and subs in my car so thank you so much for this video my buddies gonna do the rest!!! 🫡🫡🫡🤙🤙
Ok, so from what it looks like is you are running your speaker wire off the amp but the purple wire runs to the ac power up and the ground goes to the sub?
@@Digital_Tea I did that lmao it’s not working!! 🤦🏾♂️
You can add a sub without adding a new radio
On older Jimmy’s it just easier or nicer to update or get a new radio since mine was dubble din
what if u have no ac? what would i connect the rem to?
It just depends on what you drive, just have to take time and examine the wire diagram to find a good turn on or off for the radio. Some cars come Factory with an amp on off so it all depends
find an accessory spot in the fuse panel and run it from there.
I have this exact same setup in my Tahoe minus the scar amplifier but I have a 1600 watt amplifier and replacement and using the same speaker wires and everything still can't get my amp to support the base output on the speakers and can't seem to figure out why
What’s your sub watts
What if you tryna install in your room
Same concept. Need an power source (plug in wall radio like your dad would have.) then just wire from the subs so the amp and boom
How wide is it? Could you give me the box dimensions?
No clue it’s just a skar starter kit
Unbelievable
How are the subs wires
Fine still works the same
How do I get my amp to stop going into protection mode
Completely unhook it and let it sit a day. It’s gotta reset and don’t push the system when new
Is your name Chris you sound familiar
No
After 6 months is this on fire yet
7 months and it’s never sounded better
Does that amp has a fuse ?
Yes
You don't need a new radio to install a amp lol. Just get a hi lo converter.
I found it easier to just get a new radio since it’s a 2000 and had an old junk radio. So I decided on a cheaper $60 radio with Bluetooth/ call assistant/ and no DVD player.
@@Digital_Tea what radio did you get
@@Digital_Tea new to car audio but have a single slat 12 with rp.800 amp want to run the car and sound system on one battery how much wattage of Agm battery should I use in my 97 Toyota Avalon
Well everything is connected properly idk about your wiring install tho
And that was the point of the video so show what went where. I can say with absolute certainty do not wire your own shit like this unless your a professional idiot like myself
Ey man I really need your help
I have the same systems like you
Followed your video by detail and my subs aren’t paying music all door speakers are good but I lost my dash lights in in a 98 suburban
Does the amp turn on?
@@Digital_Tea yea everything works except the dash lights and running taillights at night
Stay tune. !!! His next video is where the car catches fire in burning to the ground !! Embarrassing 😬
Still standing and bumping
Not horrible for a beginner
Thank you so helpful dont fucking smash it pinch it🤩
Wire connectors and heat shrink , little solder
Didn’t have any of that at 16 😂😩
Are those 2 12" subs? Also how much watts are you pulling?
2 12s and a 1200 watt amp
okay guys, most, if not all stereos come with a remote turn on wire. its most likely your blue wire. and don't splice into a wire that isn't meant for it. reason for this. normally when you turn on your car or truck it will go from 12V before starting to between 13.3V - 14.5V. it will fuck your shit up!. the BLUE TURN ON WIRE ONLY RUNS 12V, AGAIN ONLY 12V. not no 12.3V or 13.5V. 12V!!! do it right the first time. use butt connecters for a stable connection, not no dang electrical tape.... gezz..... if your gonna spice wire, use a correct Spicer. correctly, its like a T.
Shits bumpin tho 😂
are you using the stock alternator on the car? how many amps does it put out
Stock is ok for anything under 2400 at that point you will start hurting the alt. The kit is 1200watt amp for the 12s and 10s. 8s are a 700 and the three eights are 1200.
@@Digital_Tea wait, so is that 2400 watts rms or peak? btw I bought the 1200s dual sdr enclosure as well, but im afraid my stock alternator will barely handle it..
@@DSJVNdsjnvf4356 rms and wait what size
@@DSJVNdsjnvf4356 but if it’s 1200 I doesn’t matter the alt it will handle it fine you will just loss some volts from the battery and make the dial go down a small bit on bass
Unless you are pushing like mega watts a stock or a little bit better power making alternator will do you just fine. You ain't trying to blow the glass out, then all the bullshit stuff like extra alternators and stuff is ridiculous overkill. If people seen how simple my setup is and how good it sounds everyone and there momma would have a set of subs in the back. You don't have to spend $1500 dollars to have that beat in the trunk. He my shit was gave to me I think I bought a new bluetooth deck for like $50 a wiring kit for my Amp that was free from a friend, and a good sub with a cheap box. Less then $500 dollars altogether. And everybody ask man what you got in there? My Rockford p2's didn't survive a little bump around from driving off the road lmao hoping the skar 12's are built tougher lmao. If not I guess I will give another high priced company a shot and that's not what I wanna do at all cus I'm so rough on everything I own.
I’m too mentally incompetent to figure this out i’d fuck something up
Get
Am

Power (battery)
@@Digital_Tea ik it’s the installing that I’d fuck up
ryan rynolds
You didn't do a led bar😭
Like a video on how to wire one?
You can plug the rem wire into any hot fuse that comes on when you turn the key you don't have to dig into the entire dash lmfao.
It’s just easier if your already doing a new radio along with a new sound system lol
Can you elaborate on this? I like every step except going into the dash and cutting everything
Bruh is this Deadpool?
In am infact not ryan
@@Digital_Tea hahaha 😂😂 I appreciate you man you helped me out 3 months ago 💪💪
How not to install a amp
GEE WHIZ...I can't believe some of the shit that people do and call it an
"car audio" install.
I guess anybody can post a you tube video..
It works fine
And You CAN have a System without buying a New Radio.
Doh 😮
i would have put the fuse by the amp
I would normally recommend keeping the fuse away from the interior of cars as shown in my upcoming video I’m editing. Bad things can happen if that fuse fails and it’s better to get metal hot rather than burn a car down
I've NEVER disconnected my Battery Terminal. Ya know??? Cuz i know WTF I'm doing.
Not a good Tutorial you have many flaws no way you’ll hook up a system you should never run your power wires in the door like that
7 months later they still work perfectly fine
Never run a wire threw the door😂😂🤦♂️
I had a friend run the wire through the door, guess what happened, got called over the loud speaker at the bowling alley that his truck was on fire in the parking lot. Moral of story, wires we hot, metal to metal, caused a short and truck went up in a blaze. Anybody reading this DO NOT RUN WIRES THROUGH THE DOOR!
Or don’t incorrectly wire your amp to where the power is always hot when the cars off
At no point is any of this good advice.
The big hitch is explaining where the wires go and then showing HOW I did it then saying use a rubber grommet behind the fire wall and I didn’t cut the harness buddy I bought an adapter kit for it
🤔 the same way you’d install any other brand.
Pretty much
fr
I can tell you I ran my power wire through my door like that and it did take about a year and a 1/2 but it did rub through the wire and it will 100% happen it does take time though and you're talking well over a year so I mean fuck it I guess but the right way is to drill your own hole in the firewall takes 2 minutes that's why every every wiring kit comes with a grammar 😉
Didn’t have a drill and didn’t wanna risk damaging my wiring harness as I was way less experienced back then
Mine has not rubbed not one it bit still looks new.
You just have to know what you are doing.
Pretty good tutorial but can’t help and notice your wiring. Please use butt connectors on your connections and don’t just electrical tape it
I wrap my wires together tightly so I can’t pull them apart then tightly wrap it in electrical tape to prevent surges or damage to equipment. That just one way to do it tho
DONT DO IT IN THE dark
I just got back from farm
😂😂😂
I’m redoing it soon calm down brih I never said my way way proper correct and or safe. But I’m finishing up at my automotive school and I’ve got a very good understanding of wireing now and how it all works. And yes I’m just lucky because after some time the electric tape is falling off and blew a radio fuse forever ago when I was fucking with it. I never expected 60k+ views are you kidding? I unlisted it
Clean that dam trucc😂😂😂😂
It’s only gotten worse🤟🏻😂
What kind of idiot runs the power wire in the door jam??? Can even count how many car fires I have seen because of doing this. If there is no rubber grommet, you run it under the car, all the way back to the amp. Genius
1. That door is mainly unused
2. This is an old video
3. The wire is still perfectly fine after all this time and I payed actual money to know what I’m talking about. The only thing actually wrong is how I wired the radio which is fixed with actual connections now. Thanks
Amateur hour at the apollo!! Tis is why skar has a bad rep. lmao. ( even tho the watch count is decent, so there's that)
To my credit I was baked af when I made the video and was new to audio now. Might do a revision video once I’m outa wyotech
Just pay someone to do it
Fuck no it’s a waste of money when you could do it your self
A real installer would find this video highly amusing.
THANK YOU FOR THE BIG F BOMB WHILE IM SITTING WITH MY KIDS TRYING TO FIGURE THIS WIRING OUT!!! THUMBS DOWN ALL THE WAY BRO!!!
Here’s a thought. Headphones. I’m not changing who I am cause u don’t like that I cuss. Thanks for your comment
bro what😂😂😂
If you're watching this video, trying to figure out how to run your wiring, you done "F**d" up.😂
OMG Please NOONE do what this man did. You WILL end up grounding that power wire and starting a fire through your entire vehicle. Do Not Mount the amp to the box. If you take a little time you can find a way to run that safely into the engine firewall. And get the paint off any surface that you are grounding to. You will have issues if your not properly grounded.
I literally say don’t do this, I didn’t mount my amp to my box it’s just mounted to the back of the seat, and I did idk why you assumed I didn’t.
@Digital_Tea was referring to the wire bro. Wasn't being a dick just trying to make sure a new person decides to run it like that. The don't mount to the box was just added in for people that do that. Myself was one of them at one point. Sorry if I sounded dickish was in no way tryin to
This is a perfect example, how to waste money and turn your car into a mobile bomb fire this is literally cringe central
Wow that’s crazy. It’s even crazier that 2 years later the wires are the same Undamaged and the subs still hit hard
Ur dumbass don't know what ur talking about dumbass people
My bad I never had a shit box before if I had one I will most certainly make everything seamless but that’s just me no harm meant
USE BUTT SPLICES, NEVER TWIST THE WIRES TOGETHER AND TAPE THEM. It's so damn easy, why did you do it the shit, unreliable way???
Watch new video
"I'm here to show u the right way " has wires hanging out the fuse
Time mark so I can see what the hell ur talking abt
Clean your car buddy
