Could the braid be used to wrap around the nylon instead to make that same knot ??

You can do it, but increase the risk of breaking because the braid can cut the monofilament or fluorocarbon line. Wrapping the monofilament or fluorocarbon around the braid reduce the percentage of breaking. But the way, this knot looks very similar to Alberto Knot. In the Alberto Knot the braid goes around the leader.

@@arnoldcappal6933 I'm going to respond using the theory of the Yucatan Knot. Yucatan knot have 2 versions, in one, the braid goes around the nylon (mono/fluorocarbon) and the other way, the nylon goes around the braid. I believe that the risk is more when you are using braid to tie knots around thin nylon lines. Others recommend (the case of Yucatan knot) tie the nylon around the braid in heavy saltwater knots (over 50lb), where the nylon protects the braid from abrasion. I think that good success in fishing have involved many key factors, rod, reels, lures, bait, the ability of the angler, choose the right fishing spot and also the moon phases, knots are only one factor to watch.
