I've been playing golf for over 30 years and consider myself a good player. I try to be a student of the game and have taken lessons from various instructors to always try to improve my game. I came across Clay Ballard's video a few months ago by accident and have been hooked since. He is by far the best golf instructor/coach I've seen. It clearly shows that he has studied the golf swing and have broken down every possible habits and nuances that causes inconsistencies. I am slowly correcting problems that I could not fix in over 20 years of trying. BIG THANKS CLAY!

I like this idea, will give a go. My game has fallen apart lately and despite what technical aspect I'm getting wrong, I really struggle with my downswing and follow thru, meaning I hit behind the ball and often flick the ball left due to a spin like follow thru. I don't really think about that pulling thru action and I guess I'm very much stuck in the rear shoulder doing the downswing. The lawnmower pull could be just what I need.. 👍
Great video . I went into the back yard and the lawn mower pull was a great way to describe and feel the shoulder turn . Tomorrow .....Range !!

Mr. Ballard, I have never written you to say thanks, I'm 53 started playing at 40+ your video for beginners golfers is the first golf video I ever seen, boy the rabbit holes goes deep. But this video on the lawnmower, has put a simple swing thought in my head, it's great. I watched the video, broke 90 for the first time ever. Thanks truly.. I want to get better, I'm serious about getting better. I'm interested in online lessons. Tuff, fair, honest, and homework. Please help

In order to make this move you need to engage right abdominal muscles and some at the right shoulder blade. Not trying to twist your shoulders or jerk the arms around.
If the club is open at impact if you don't roll/ bow your wrists in the downswing, why dont we set the club closed at address to allow for it?
You could do that but that can cause other issues in the swing.
one reason is a loss of power. Believe it or not you get a lot of power form opening the club during the takeaway and "flipping" it closed at impact. The rolling over of the toe releases all the energy. I have seen people teach square to square which what i think you are suggesting and it can work for some.
@@greatwhite3676 If you can learn to roll the toe perfectly at impact every time, on every shot, at every speed, on every lie, with every club, even by hitting 1,000 balls a day then you should be on the PGA Tour. Us mere mortals who maybe play twice a week or 3 times a month and are lucky get a range session in between, have a better chance of being semi-consistent with the square to square method, imo.
@@whenmullet2674 Thats is a huge over complication. Square to square is more of a feeling than actually whats happening. I dont think about rolling the tow over on every shot it just naturally happens. I'm never trying to hit the ball the ball is just in the path of the swing. I'm a 7 handicap no pro.

Wait a moment so every time I hit a good drive I have to switch off the lawnmower and hit a return from my service ? From memory lawnmowers are tricky animals to start and tennis is another sport that needs another coach !!!! I thought golf should be fun ???😊😊😊😊😊😊😂😂😂😂
