    I think this would have been a more valid evaluation if you had skipped the sauce just had them taste them dry so the flavors of the rubs would really stand out.

    Hard to beat Killer Hogs for pork. That Butt Rub is great for pulled pork. Even used it for drumsticks.

    I have been using Worchestershire sauce as a binder on everything, it adds a bit of umami to the meat.

    I'm new to testing rubs but I used jack Daniels BEEF rubs on some ribs last night, and they were AWESOME! Idk the difference between the pork and beef ingredients or taste but I'll be testing that myself soon. Nice video, would like to see u do the testings w out the sauce tho.

      Thanks brother, I have started doing rub reviews without sauce (at least non-competition rubs, since you aways sauce in comps), you can check out my sweet rubs review for dry ribs. Thanks for watching!

    Great video....and if you or any commentators could help me out id apreciate it...im looking for agreat rub with very little salt. A non salty bbq rub for beef. I make burgers and season the meat before forming the patties. Im looking for a rub that had almost no salt

    I bought the Webber Smoking Rub for my first ever brisket.....I only used Webber rub on it and I felt the same on the clumping of the rub on the meat and I didnt at all care for the flavor it gave the meat....Maybe if I used it with a combination of another rub it might of been ok, but it just seemed to suck up any moister in the meat

    • @RegularDudeReviews
      @RegularDudeReviews  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I highly recommend their salt pepper garlic rub on brisket. Works much better and gives it a great Texas flavor.

    I was curious how "special shit" would do, the color was not there, but I love large flakes of pepper. Amazing it was the most expensive, yet it was dead last. I just bought a char griller akorn kamado so im soaking up the info! Thx again.

    • @RegularDudeReviews
      @RegularDudeReviews  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely brother, it's funny that when I first used the special shit I really liked it, but when I compared it bite for bite with the others at the same time, my opinion changed. That's what initially got me to start doing these reviews.

    As soon as I saw the Weber rub in the competition I was well if this guy knows a good rub then it will win lol Hands down my favorite rub also! Perfect texture and blend of sweet and salty. I will have to try the killer hogs though. Thanks for sharing

    Just found your channel and dig it !
    I had used the Weber rub last weekend for the first time, same ribs as yours, (Smithfield)used olive oil for a base and to say the least they was ok...to me and a couple others found it to be salty as hell. So I believe I'm gonna pass that up next time. I usually use Mccormicks apple wood rub, and no complaints from that. I'm gonna have to look into that THE BBQ RUB I hear alot about it on videos. Anyhow keep up the good work !!!!👍

    Id bet the rankings have to do with that the top two had sugar in them, sweet and salty is too good on the taste buds

    Awesome ribs but it should have been without the barbecue sauce so you can get the full flavor of the rub to heck with barbecue sauce yeah there's some they're good but everybody should like it just with the rub on it and paste the rub and the rib meat thank

  • @backyardgrillmaster2910
    @backyardgrillmaster2910 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah you have to do a blind test, the name brand recognition ie Jack Daniels and Weber people know, something that has the word Shit and Butt in thier name I think turns most people off. But a great I would love to see more just with different rubs. Keep them coming Now let me go and hit the button.

    Extra tender means they have been injected with a salt brine solution before packaging. You should look at the sodium content when you buy. I stay away from those types of ribs.

    Need more videos, you did weekly videos but your struggling with monthly..... So many views and subs for a young channel could be huge if you put it regular content....c'mon man.
    Only thing I didn't like was comparing rubs why dilute with bbq sauce honey and brown sugar making it harder to get true taste
