    Lots of great info in here! It can be hard to get started 3D printing for profit but we've definitely seen most people find success by focusing on a hyper-specific niche (that they're already interested in!) and devoting yourself 100% to that niche. Looking forward to the livestream this weekend!

    But Grant, I have an Ender farm! Seriously though, dealing with consumers who don’t have an understanding about how long it takes to print that dragon or doohickey and it's easy to drop prices to be competitive but it undermines prices for everyone. Selling 3D prints can easily run lower than minimum wage if you don’t fight for price. Gotta run to do maintenance on my Ender farm. Again.

    Why are the voron and ratrig printers not mentioned much in print farm applications. You can get a top of the line printer for about the cost of prusa. you only have to build it. And i consider my printers like an investment put money in to it and get a high 30%+ return over a few years. Like you said its a great source of passive income.

    • @3DMusketeers
      @3DMusketeers  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Because they take so much time to build that is often offsets the cost of buying something that just works out of the box. In a business atmosphere, my time is worth a TON, I often bill over 100/hr for my time and that time spent building a voron or ratrig just does not translate to success. Am I going to do it? yes, but only because I have a youtube channel lol

    This is what the Wife and I are doing now. I have lots of Models already printed. She is working on the more detailed stuff with Resin and full painting of them.
    We are looking to make our own Shopify store so we don't have to deal with direct competition with Etsy Sellers right next to us. Also setting up an LLC and writing off some of the expenses from without our home.
    We've been selling locally right now to Co-Workers and friends and then word of mouth from there.
    Ideally we are looking to basically just make some extra funds while paying for our hobby at the same time.

You list where to post your services but you don't talk about the amount of pricing. Or dealing with customers. Or running a business at all. Your headline is completely misleading and false

Your pricing, what machines to use, heck even the strengths and weaknesses of those machines, etc. will all be subjective. As will dealing with customers, running the business, etc. This is how to start, not how to become a printing god lol.
