Billy G had a girlfriend who lived in Memphis. They often came into the restaurant I worked in. Billy liked to call in orders for grilled vegetables to go. The chef always had me grill his vegetables. I sorta felt like Billy's personal chef. Billy is such a down-to-earth, cool guy. He drove an old 60s convertible LeSabre. It wasn't restored or custom, so it did not stand out. He blended into the Memphis scene and few people ever knew he was here.
I had an the same experience with Francis from 'up the street'. 50 years ago, he needed a new garden mower, and I ordered a 1500 pound item. Fun guy. Stay Safe and Stay Free 🌐 🎉
I am so glad that Daryll collaborates with modern artists for this mini concert series :) Thank you for the music. Please let me perform @ ur house when I'm famous , thanx
It's really cool to live in a world where we have Hall and Gibbons hangout and rock. Two totally different legendary dudes and styles going for it. I'm thankful for this.
When I was a high school senior in 1976, never, in a million years, would I have guessed that Darryl Hall and Billy Gibbons would be jamming a legendary rock tune in 2024 that I had not even heard of yet. I saw ZZ Top in concert before "Afterburner" was released. I'm dating myself for sure. When I moved out on my own, I played ZZ Top when the guys visited. I played Hall & Oates when the gals visited ("Kiss on my List" was my favorite). There is a time and place for everything. That was back in the day when folks had neat rows of vinyl albums stacked against the wall (mine numbered roughly 600 total) and a pair of waist high speakers aimed at the sofa. Back when you met new friends and painstakingly rifled through their album collection, setting aside the ones to be played, front to back. It was a social/cultural event that often included a smoky haze. Music appreciation was the theme and the 70s was the music equivalent of the Cambrean Explosion. You can thank Sgt. Peppers for getting that culture started. When music became more than something to dance to, but something to be carefully listened to. What albums did I listen to the most? "Sad Wings of Destiny" (A true masterpiece), "The White Album", "Tres Hombres", "Machine Head", "The Cars", "Cosmic Dancer", "Rocks", "The James Gang", "R.E.O./Two", "Equinox", "Future Blues", "The Guess Who: Live at the Paramount". Cripes....way too many to list.
I saw ZZ Top only because I had free tickets about 45 years ago in Chicago. They were killer. One of my favorite concerts ever. Plus I’ve always had a crush on Daryl. So much fun! Thank you to all. ❤️
Nicely done. Decade after decade ZZ Top stayed in the charts. Just kept playing those three chords that Billy jokes about. OK there is way more to it that is put into every note, chord and beat. That sounded great. Cheers!
Thank you so much for this ❤❤❤❤ . You guys are at the top of my favourites list. I dropped my strings because of your story Billy. Daryl, I love your Daryl’s House shows. I want a DVD box set if I could get it. ❤❤❤ From Alberta Canada.
I tried making that Guac Billy's way, and found that by adding 3 kilos of finely chopped haberneros, and a half gallon more of hot sauce brings it up to first-rate quality.
Lol, room full of AMAZING musicians, and The Rev tries and tries to explain that ONLY the drums start on count 1 and EVERYONE else comes in on count 2, and NO ONE gets it... Except Billy, lol...
Maestro Bill Gibons knows something about....how how how how...how hooking up with famous music stars on web because we love them for the last 40 years and more... it's not for you guys, it's for the ..14 years old today's kids that deserve..cheer up music, young generations are... too weepy, they break your performing... please forgive me that I prefer to live a bit longer, singing along good old songs together. They kicked me out of Facebook because I published obscene comments of a kind...if they are for a good action...oh good Lord have mercy and forgive my terrible sins...😢😢😢at least you can agree with me, we love to live as retarded ones, beyond the birth date, ZZ Top tracks are teenage forever... that's the point 🎉🎉❤🎉🎉
Hats off to the drummer Brian Dunne he is the unsung hero that keeps it all together.
And he holds his sticks properly.
He's very very good, does he know he looks like Joe Piscopo?
He's impeccable and so tasty and is always all in...
100% he lights the House

The long red beard wasn’t a give-away?
Billy's tone, glitches, and fingering are unmistakable. He just grooves.
I agree. He’s got this amazing sense of exactly what to play and when to hold off. Never too much, never too little, and melodically in the pocket.
Yeah you can’t beat being fingered by Billy Gibbons 😂
Wow, not enough good words, Johnny Winter and Chuck Berry played Epiphone guitars to start, sounds killer. Everybody is somebody, me too?
Drums for the win!
I bet they're having a huge amount of fun, cooking eating talking and playin !

One of the best versions I've heard in a long time and Billy's guitar is awesome!
The gut next to him is not bad
Love that guy too.
@@bradfauth3657 I wonder who he is?
Billy Gibbons ... absolute legend and the epitome of cool.
Billy's one of those rare guys who's coolness is always on an upward trajectory. Great way to go through life.
And the roof 🎉 5:11
Billy is so damn cool. He needs his own show.
a Masterpiece of good music 🎉
The guitarist with the green strat (sorry I don't know his name) was killin it.

Might be the coolest senior citizen in history!!!!!
Rev Willie G is THE modern blues master. Cool beyond words.
I saw ZZ Top back in the eighties at the Cow Palace. The Eliminator tour. So many lasers. Haha, great band, great show!
so jealous 😄
What?!! Wow. Hearing Daryl Hall sing ZZtop : fantastic!

It sure looks like the first live at Daryl's I watched a long time ago maybe 10 years ago?? ... Great show
Genial !!!
This video is from MANY years ago.
Damn good
NY Dept. Of Health prevented Billy from showing us the really secret ingredient: 74yr old beard hair.
God this so good.
Nice
The Rev is THE COOLEST mofo on the planet. Period. End of story.
When I think of the coolest band in the history of music I think of ZZ Top.
The whole band is as tight as a nuns cxnt.
Melhor som!!!
who is the guy with the the green Strat? Top trumps em all.........
Shane Theriot..he is from south Louisiana...he played on many Hall and Oates albums
The drummers are super good , Billy rips on that guitar and sings …Daryl’s band is so talented … wow … I wish I was his neighbor ….

Play this in 1.25 x speed and the song sounds more jamming

They better serve barbecued iguana!
Wall of Voodoo - Mexican Radio is a silly song with that lyric if anyone is missing the reference.

It would be SO weird and otherworldly to see Billy clean shaven, as he was in his early musical years......
Miss Dusty.R.I.P...😱
This shows why you need sn SG guitar
Preparing food with shades takes a lot of training!
Where has this channel come from? 🤷♂️ Because this and other performances I’ve seen today are awesome! Keep em coming
Drummer drives Darryl’s House!!!
FIRST TIME I PUT GHOST PEPPERS 🌶 🤪 IN MY CHILI. I HAD NO IDEA 😮
Should be done with 4 on the floor, that's what drives this tune.
I had to speed it up to 1.15. That tempo's like a little kid walking behind me that just won't keep up.
They`re gonna have to change the title to.................." Sharp Dressed Men "....................😎
How do we rate Billy's Guacamole recipe? As hot as his playing?
💥❤
Lol, room full of AMAZING musicians, and The Rev tries and tries to explain that ONLY the drums start on count 1 and EVERYONE else comes in on count 2, and NO ONE gets it... Except Billy, lol...
The other guitarist actually starts even BEFORE the drummer on the COUNT IN, lol... Some cats just CAN'T WAIT to bungle somethin up, lol...

Rockn Roll is a sin. But its ok this time 😎

Nah.
How is Daryl 78 years old?
Because he's not. He is 77 🙂 (according to Wiki). But I totally get what you mean.
This video is about 10 years old...
@@danilaespada4956 Thanks! Had no idea.
great version, but MAN is it sloooowwwwwwwww
replace hall with hill, and the drummer with frank, and this would've sounded great
Love seeing Billy play. Daryl’s singing spoils it though. The tosser on the green strat should be there to groove with him not try to overshadow him.
He was in full support mode, that guy is a badass player.
What an ignorant and dumb thing to say.....
What a stupid ignorant thing to say....
Daryl has one thing going for him: a good band. He sucks and ruins every song that every guest comes in and plays.
