The media tends to help along these narratives by calling girls "women" child victims in general as "young people" and r*pe/SA as "intercourse" or "s*x".
Media is complicit. Once you start paying attention to the language that so called journalists use in their articles (see also: reporting on police brutality) you lose a lot of faith.

Clearly, he isn’t taking responsibility entirely for what he did, by virtue of the way he speaks of a 10 year old, but the simple fact that he went as far as he did in confessing is extremely rare. I guess what I’m saying is, even for a pedophile, he has more integrity than the others who have done the same, and worse, who deny it and never take responsibility at all. That goes a long way for the victims’ peace of mind, and it’s the only thing the predator can do once the abuse has been done.

The whole issue with women/people letting bad behaviour slide because we're afraid to be "rude" is such a huge, and underestimated, reason why so much abuse happens or continues. The amount of stuff I have excused or put up with because I was afraid of "offending" someone is awful, and I know I'm not the only one.. Edit: When I say this, I don't mean it's the victim's fault. I mean that we should be raising our children with self-confidence and autonomy, so they feel like they're able to speak up. Forcing kids to hug people when they don't want to is a huge no-go (in my opinion). Our children deserve to feel confident and secure enough to speak up, and it's the parents' job to help foster that confidence. It's NEVER the victim's fault when they're abused. That is not what I'm saying; just that our children deserve to be raised to be confident and self-assured.
Edit: I also think it's ridiculous that there's a statute of limitations on SA crimes, especially child SA. So many people don't ever see justice because they didn't find their voice until it was too late.

She knew about it even before the were married so no need to feel sorry for her. Only reason that therapy session happens is because the wife wanted to have it on tape so she could press him for money. She did not do it because she had any kind of empathy for the victims what so ever. Only reason that tape was out in the public was because he said no to giving her everything and the wife wanted money. Its just a act that the wife sounds that her world was shattered of what she heard 🤦 She is no better then the monster who she did marry knowing what he have done 😤

@@hollystiener16 This is the worst interview ever. Hes a 100% manipulator, every single word that comes out of his mouth is manipulated to make him sound like hes doing good and it was all just a bit confusing. Go and watch a Gary Glitter interview when he was caught, the same excuses, the same rhetoric, the same pause when asked about p*dos.
Hes 100% guilty of what hes done. But only takes 2% of the blame and makes everything sound like its hardly anything

When he says he was an impulsive, arrogant 25-year-old, it's as if he's attempting to make it sound like he mooned a city bus (which is the only non-sexual type of flashing I can think of). When the interviewer asked if he remembered the girl's face, my skin was crawling. Of course he remembers, the facial expression is a huge motivator for this type of prdator.

Around the 25 min mark: “he said, it happened again.” He as well as Katie Curic say this line. He is very aware of our sub conscious use of that line. It conveys as if he couldn’t help it, it just “happened” as if he had no control of his life, or decisions. As if he’s talking about a hurricane hitting or an epileptic seizure, “happening.” No, this doesn’t “happen again.” He did it. Own it. Take responsibility or else he will do it again! Disgusting!

It seems to be a hallmark of unreformed criminals. I've watched plenty of interviews with people who were serving a prison sentence, many of them murderers. They all used veiled language when they spoke about why they were in prison. "That night, a man died". What the woman actually did: She took part in a breaking and entering robbery and when things escalated, she shot a man dead. "I'm in because of the murder of my wife." What the man actually did: He strangled his wife to death. -- I think as long as you cannot bring yourself to say: "I killed", "I raped", "I molested" if you did those things instead of talking about things happening, you are not reformed yet.

Most of that interview was just him making excuses for himself, disgusting. And felt really manipulative, like the way he was talking about how he was abused even if it was irrelevant considering what he did to those girls, then calling the 10 year old a young woman and that she touched him inappropriately even if he put her hand on himself.

This case was very shocking to me. 7th Heaven was one of my most loved shows growing up. The actions of this guy truly sickens me and makes me angry. Every since I learned about this case, all I can ever think about is those girls that grew up on the show, especially Ruthie, the littlest one.
Also, I am just in shock over his interview and how he just sits there and tells what he did to children. This whole thing just sickens me.
