Hey Chuck! Nice video! But could you explain that hootie sound? As I understood goo sound shows how to sing without external mucles. At 5:00 you said go easily from chest voice to head voice. Goo sound gives me an opportunity to gallop between two registers. But should I mixed head voice and chesat voice? Because when I always go down with OO sound to check was it falsetto in high notes or not I crack to chest voice. Is it normal? Should I do goo and gee sounds for only releasing my voice? Or should I think about creating mixed voice too? And another question: should I do breaty sound with goo sound? Because its the way I can do exercise without disconected cords and without tension.
Opps Sorry, I couldn't find your email address. Have you sent me a speakpipe message before? If not go to PowerToSing.com and send me your vocal test, PowerTest. I'll be able to address these questions via Speakpipe.
Thank you, Chuck, for such an informative answer! You are well-known for a great feedback! I cerntainly think about getting a lesson. But I prefer to get home practice at first and accumalate questions about different exercises. Thank you again for being so attentive to your subscribers and students.
This absolutely awesome videos,I did vocals test and get the fast track exercise lessons….great results but I’d like to ask,do I need to practice all of the lessons at the same time or 1 each day?….can you please advise? Thanks Also I would like to thank Chuck Gilmore for make my voice better
Hi Chuck, your videos are brilliant and have helped me greatly. However, how familiar are you with high-pitched voices in the metal/rock genre? For example, when Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden), or even Freddie Mercury, sing high, it sounds as though they are closing their throat and tensing up to get their "rougher" sound. Is it pretty much a case of "sing it clean and add in the roughness later" or are they doing something fundamentally different?
I have limited experience with metal/rock genre. After watching this video: th-cam.com/video/glhQfdnnoZ8/w-d-xo.html he is basically singing with a high larynx and going really bratty. That thins the cords out and prevents the vocal damage that can happen. He pulls chest a little, but he also goes straight into a light head voice as well. For his genre I think he does it really well. In my opinion, the bratty sound is the foundation of what he's doing. As far as the roughness is concerned, stay bratty with the cords thinned and that will minimize the damage. It's easy to slip into yelling, so it takes real discipline.
I don't think you can take one exercise and strengthen the voice. Just like the athlete. If you want to be a good athlete you do multiple exercises different ways etc. You can find some great ones based on your vocal type at PowerToSing.com in the Knowledge Center. Free to download.
hey chuck i recently started doing goo goo for cord closure in head voice.....i am doing it hooty....but as i go higher, it hurts.....like a sharp pain....i guess i kinda strain from c5, d5 onwards in head voice while i can easily belt all de way upto a5is this pain bcos my chords r nt tgether n dey r learnin to come together?my closure seems to be improving but wanted to know if dis is normal and it will go away once closure is established:)n i love ur vids im a new subscriber:)
Could you help me with something? I have a problem with my falsettos and my head voice, there's a lot of air, it doesn't sound good, I really don't know what to do, it's driving me crazy. Please, help me. Thanks!
Sir let me ask you this can a person develop a bass speaking voice by singing nothing but falsetto for years i sung as a falsetto tenor and i think it might have lowered my voice if that's possible but there is a little bit of bass in my voice singing and speaking that i would like to make a little cleaner sound
I don't think you can develop any thing singing falsetto, except falsetto and a big break in your voice. But I've never tried it, so I can't speak by experience. I've never worked with a singer to develop a "bass" voice. I have worked with many singers to establish chest voice.
sir can i send you a video and ask what is the style called this singer is using and that way you can give me feed back and let me know what its called that this guy is doing their is a art to it but hes doing it so well ok thank you sir let me know if i can send it
I suppose there are some high tenors who can pull chest voice that high. But it will be strained, filled with tension and they will soon damage their voices. I would never recommend that.
After goo, do gee, go, guh each time maintain the same feeling as goo. Gradually increase the volume and intensity. If you lose your vocal balance, reduce volume and intensity.
1:44 saving the timestamp for practice! Thank you Chuck for the great information.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for every video you post on TH-cam, it's a blessing for me finding you💚
Very nice sir that's an excellent exercise and I could immediately feel how I was separating my vocal cords from my neck muscles thank you very much.
Thanks PW! Glad it helped!

If you did 30 minutes a day...that would help you improve a great deal. But if you can only do 15 minutes...it's still a real benefit.

Yes sir do you have any exercise that would remove bass sound from my singing
What do you mean when you say "bass sound"?
Sir let me ask you this can a person develop a bass speaking voice by singing nothing but falsetto for years i sung as a falsetto tenor and i think it might have lowered my voice if that's possible but there is a little bit of bass in my voice singing and speaking that i would like to make a little cleaner sound

Sure send me the link!
I needed your first lesson because my voice is not good
Did it help?
Sorry, but Men can reach E5 with his chest voice?
No, not pure chest voice. However, they can maintain vocal cord connection and sing there in head voice...which is not disconnected falsetto.
Do you mean He Can not do it
I suppose there are some high tenors who can pull chest voice that high. But it will be strained, filled with tension and they will soon damage their voices. I would never recommend that.
But me, I sung E5 on "think twice"
Wow. Be careful.
what to after this dopey sound? How to add more chest to this but not strain?!
After goo, do gee, go, guh each time maintain the same feeling as goo. Gradually increase the volume and intensity. If you lose your vocal balance, reduce volume and intensity.
Are you using your head voice in this exercice?
The E,F and F#4 are a mix of head and chest. The highest two notes are head voice. The lower notes chest voice.
Mans can not reach the E5 aith training?......
Yes, men can reach the E5 with training.
How do you make money?
