    These are the most approachable and practical singing lessons I’ve found on TH-cam. I just followed along with some of your other videos on singing higher for guys while I was driving and I was jumping up and down in my car because for a moment I comfortably hit notes I never have before! I scared a lady in a car next to me! Thank you for your invaluable work!

    Those mum scale exercises always felt so awkward and weird for me when i would try them relating to an exercise video i was watching, but seeing how it helped you find that power and control in your voice and you even felt the change, makes me reevaluate wanting to do them. I do think people get better results when there face to face with an instructor of some sort, but youtube is all i and many people have! So might as well make do with what the great information we can find in videos like this one :D

    Wow, when you played the first excerpt of your exercises I instantly recognized a sound I've had problems with (what I've always identified as) a 'stifled' sound on the top notes. I'm always afraid of getting louder as I sing higher, so I tend to work extra hard to stay quiet. I'll try practicing while relaxing and pronouncing a more deliberate "ew" sound. And if I have the courage I'll try singing from soft to loud while keeping the tone consistent. Thank you for the video!

    At the end of the day it just comes down to how often you sing.

    • @PowerToSing
      @PowerToSing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes...there is no question that this has a big impact on your voice. However, if you sing incorrectly...for example pull your chest voice too high in an effort to be powerful, you risk damaging your voice and weaken it even more. So you end up causing more weakness when you were hoping for more power.

    Hello power to sing.first of all I want to appreciate you because you've been on of my great pillars in my singing journey and I tnk you for that...I can sing within my mix territory now and am greatful.....but I have this question, just as no one ever get satisfied with what they wish to have but now have it lol. Well my question is why does my high note sounds raspy and edgy at my upper voice A#4 above__ Its sounds little free but doesn't sound smooth too me,kind of wavey but not Shakey; Please what could be the reason.?

    • @PowerToSing
      @PowerToSing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In my experience, almost always the raspy edgy sound is the results of the larynx coming up. It squeezes the vocal cords and vocal tract which results in that rasp. When the larynx is down, the rasp goes away. :)

    Question about your program, hello btw, lol
    Do you allow vocal reviews? As far as one of your members submitting a video or audio recording of them singing ... and you could tell them... I hear you straining here and work on this etc... is that incorporated in your program ?

    Hey Chuck I'm having trouble doing the bubble lips exercise, I keep breaking into falsetto. Is staying connected something i need to work up towards or am I just doing something wrong. I need your help

    • @PowerToSing
      @PowerToSing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Zach, sometimes we get into habits of letting go. You are going to have to concentrate to keep cords consistent and not let them go into that disconnected feeling. You may have to vary exercises and do some bratty neys or dopy gee's to get the connection. Then go back to the BL and maintain the same connection. It will come. Congrat's on being aware of your voice enough to fix it!

      It's not normal to feel like coughing during any of these activities. If it doesn't resolve soon, schedule an appointment with an ENT Doctor.

    Thank you for these videos!
    Thanks to you, I now know that a have a pulled chest high larynx voice, and in order to get to those high notes easily I have to lower my larynx
    But the thing is, I like the sound my "heavy" voice when I sing I the low register, and I am afraid that in order to reach those high notes without straining by lowering my larynx, I might loose this "heaviness" I have in my voice in the low register. I feel that my voice is becoming more thin even when I sing the low notes after doing the exercises that lower the larynx.
    Is this normal to happen? Or am I doing something wrong?
    I just don't want to sacrifice the texture of my voice in order to reach the high notes
    Thank you!

    • @PowerToSing
      @PowerToSing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Without hearing your voice, it's hard to say for sure what is happening. But keeping the larynx at the level where you speak will help your voice whether in chest, middle or head voice. But it is possible to over sing chest voice. So you may need to ease up on chest voice and then strengthen your whole voice together. In order to get our head voice to become as strong as chest, often you have to back off on chest at first.

    • @zenafares8726
      @zenafares8726 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I guess you are right, It might help me to go easy on my chest voice, and then work on my chest and head voice so they become equally strong.
      Thank you for your advice!
