- Turns out Audacity was programmed by actual magicians, cos that's the only way this audio's even slightly tolerable. Also happy April fools - I thought the most subversive thing to do would be to upload a kinda sorta serious theory that has a fool in it and also includes a high-quality belch.
Anyway, I came up with most of this theory independently, but there's nothing new under the sun, so here's some links to a couple of Reddit posts I looked at:
One on the Trial by Seven - / spoilers_extended_cers...
One just on the regular trial - / spoiler_all_who_will_f...
There was also a westeros.org thread but when I tried to copy the link across my antivirus told me it had phishing in it so I guess you'll just have to find it for yourself. - บันเทิง
The inclusion of Moonboy to make up Cersei's 7 is just genius. It makes sense politically (he is one of the last men still sworn to the Cersei), and thematically it fits really nicely with the fool/knight motif that runs throughout the story. (Dontos Hollard the knight turned fool, the dwarf fools who play the kinghts at Joffrey's wedding, and Florian Jonquil. In fact, I believe it is Florian the Fool which was Tanselle's puppet show that gets Dunk into his trial by 7, making Dunk himself a Knight and a fool in love). Plus the imagery of this fool completely out of his depth tumbling around the trial is so GRRM. I love it!!!
Moon boy is the key to all this.
Congratulations, you succesfully written a scenary where Cleganebowl is not only a smart, but also an extremely exciting story to read.
You deserve WAAAY more likes.
I feel like the hound winning the trial by seven also fits into the valonqar-prophecy
Watched till the end- an engineered miracle, okay why not?
But I think the battle whether of Seven or of one champion each will be interrupted by Aegon's invasion of KL.
I think it will be someone like Theodan, known for his faith levels. The H Septon/Sparrow is self convinced about the power of faith itself.
Respectfully, this is fantastic! A new twist on something I've seen many videos about. This is the style of out of the box thinking that I believe GRRM is writing on. The characters could be different but I believe the twist is REAL. New found HYPE for Ceresi chapters! WELL DONE.
This is an awesome theory. Whilst I definitely don’t agree with all of it I think some of the broad strokes act as a realistic and necessary escalation of stakes that this trial needs.
I really like this theory! Not sure how valonqar fits in but this is my #1 theory for the cersei trial now!
I sorta don’t want the Cleganes to be related to Ser Duncan the Tall
Good work love your videos keep up the grind 💯 happy late Easter as well!
I just found your channel because I am far to deep into ASOIAF madness and I just wanted to say your videos are excellent. I am about to binge watch em all but I think you have so much potentially and this was such a well crafted video. good luck and im gonna be hanging around.
Edit: Just wanted to add I also watch Hatflims and Yogscast content so seems like the algorithm has pulled thru today!
Haha thanks! Good to see there's more than just me in the middle of the Hatfilms/Yogs/ASOIAF venn diagram
I honestly don't think the High Septon exactly *wants* to win the trial. He wants the show of it, to show no one is above scrutiny. But if Cersei loses, it could be seen as the gods themselves being against Tommen too, since her losing = Tommen declared by the gods themselves to be an incest bastard, therefore lessening the HS's own power over the monarchy.
This is why I’m not stressing for WoW I got more theories grander than anything I think actually will happen
Very cool, I am liking the idea of a trial by seven. Would the Kettleblacks have to fight against Cersei as her accusers? Might Cersei have to be in the arena too, like Duncan and Maegar were? I am hazy on the rules, but I think that's purposeful: The faith invents the rules as they go to place advantage where they want it.
i think if it is a standard trial by combat the purpose of it will be to show the readers more info about how wights works.
Your trial by 7 idea is a nice idea because it can explain why george potentially regrets killing kevan lannister, or any other potential character he regrets killing because he now needs 14 warriors
This video felt like spoilers
Maybe just because it's a new theory and when last have we heard one of those, but this did really feel like it could happen If you know what I mean. Like you know how you love your dog, your girlfriend or hell, even your mom, despite all the faults. Yeah something like that.
Keep those videos coming 💪🏻
this is unironically genius
What if it’s Loras?
That's what I was wondering. Or if it is trial by seven, will Loras be stuck fighting for cersei?
If Cersei is lacking a 7th fighter and super desperate, couldn’t she fight, herself? it’s very dangerous but better than an instant guilty verdict.
Yeah probably - though maybe it wouldn't be allowed cos she's a woman? Either way, that'd probably be an absolute last resort, if she could get literally anyone else to do it instead she would I reckon.
Great theory! The one change i would make is removing the Hound. I dont think you were being completely serious about his inclusion, but if you were i have to disagree. It makes no sense to ruin his perfect arc, especially if its not even going to be a 1v1.
I'd probably replace his last stand with Lady Nym. Or, if you wan't to get really speculative, Loris. The Tyrells faked his injury during the siege so that they could hide the fact that the finest remaining blade in Westeros was going to join the trial. He already fogiht the Mountain, so it would be a perfect conclusion to his arc to succeed in their rematch.
That was an incredible theory, so well justified. I can’t believe some of the fighters will be Lancel and Osmund Kettleblack and probably Moon Boy for all I know
Omg I love this theory.
Moon boy has historical precedence also. House Toland dressed up their fool in armour and sent him out against the Targaryens in Aegons attempted conquest of Dorne. Except Moon Boy will actually win his battle.
Honestly that was a more entertaining Cersei chapter than most of AFFC - great job! NOW DO BRAN!!!
Amazing! I hope the story ends up going something like this!
Great theory
U also posted this on April Fools. GTFOH!!!!!! Genius. I was so invested I was disappointed when it ended. Id love to hear your "tinfoil" (for lack of a better term) thoughts on what YOU believe happens next?
Hehe, I'm not sure what would happen next. Maybe Qyburn and Cersei need to flee the city after their necromancy is exposed and they use Rob Zombie to fight their way out? Then they have fifteen chapters wandering around the crownlands because this is GRRM after all
I like this theory except for Sandor beeing there. I don't think we need this. Sandor has his "peace" allready, his story is finished. For the High Sparrow to pull him out of his ass doesn't seem fitting. I am all for Hasty and Lancel though, they fit really well and the trial by seven as a whole too. The leader of the Warrior's sons is certainly possible. Nymeria has to find out about Clegane first for her participation to make sense. And even then, would the High Sparrow allow a woman to fight in this holy duell? Im not sure. The Sparrow's side seems pretty weak like this but here is my suggestion for a fighter: Loras Tyrell, healthy and well. This would anger Cersei mightily and bring another King's guard in the ring, mirroring the duell in The Hedge Knight, where KG fough KG. And on that note: How about not all Kettleblack fighting for one side? Maybe The Sparrow convinces one and Cersei another. Then we have the brother fighting brother in there too, without Sandor to get involved.
Yeah, those are some good points!
If Qyburn isn't actually a supporter of Cersei, but works for someone else, it stands to reason that there could be some kind of magical "killswitch" to take out Robert Strong when he likes.
As powerful as Gregor is and thus Robert being even more powerful I hesitate to say that he could best so many at once. I like the idea of many on team cersie refusing to fight for her but them literally changing sides to fight against her seems a bit iffy.
I say let them leave and have Robert face off against the other team on his own. Either way though good work
Algormancy!
I get that Bronn appearing throughout the video was meant as joke, but seeing him got me wondering. Bronn is described as one of the best swordsmen we encounter in the books. And he was at least considering the prospective of fighting Gregor, but stepped down, because Cersei bribed him. So what could be more deliciously ironic than if Bronn, after weasling out of that fight with Cersei's help will end up being strongarmed into it because of her machinations? I would guess that if High Septon called upon a certain knight (AND a hero of Blackwater battle) to represent the Faith and champion truth in a holy trial, it would be rather politically inconvinient for him to decline.
I dont think the High Sparrow actually wants Cersie to loose. Shes accused of incest, so if she looses it proves Tommen is a bastard and in fact Stannis is the one true king. Stannis is aligned with the Lord of Light which the H.S. has referred to as a demon. I feel like the reason he imprisoned Cersie was to flex the fact that now the faith of seven rules the kingdoms which by proxy makes him the ruler.
Jaime Lannister the king'sslayer fighting for the faith
Personally I think the trial will be cancelled and she'll blow up the sept like in the show. It'll unite the city against her and the Golden Company will roll in.
oiii another asoiaf channel. subbbbb
