    So glad you did this video.
    I like others have been tossing the idea around about purchasing a sawmill. Started out with harbor freight and escalated.
    Came down to this sawmill and woodland mills.
    Looks more and more like woodland mills may get my business.
    Great job and thanks.

    Thanks for the review. I have the OS27 Gen 1 without the trailer. The assembly wasn't bad. Motor runs great going on 2.5 years of running it. I also have trouble with the belt wearing and called their support, one tech said that that is normal, and another said that it needs adjusted. After "adjusting" like they said, it still wears.... I ordered extra belts to have on hand because i haven't found the issue. I'll try the motor mounts like you suggested. The water drip does have a lot to be desired, and i also broke both grease zirks on the band wheels. I also stripped out one of the log clamps trying to hold the log into place. I recently bought the "auto water" feature, but it doesn't look like it fits the Gen 1 model, so it looks like I will be adapting that somehow. The log stops do move occasionally and need to be re-squared with the bed. This usually happens when i am trying to roll a massive logs on the mill. I have cut many species of wood, the really "wet" logs do cause an issue with the dust exiting the saw. I also have to blow out the sawdust with the air compressor now and then when it builds up.
    I was looking into buying the trailer, but after your review I am building one, and for a lot cheaper/better built. Like you said:It is a great saw for the weekend sawyer, but expect to have a few issues.

    Thanks heaps for taking the time to produce the video, very informative from someone who owns one, like others, I will look at my options, hope frontier watches your video and make some improvement's, then may be a good machine.

    I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks the assembly instructions are a bit difficult in places. Not everywhere, but definitely on some critical steps. Good informative video and I wish I'd have looked for vids like this before I started assembly of mine. Almost done now though and I've noticed some differences/improvements since yours came off the line.

      I'm surprised they haven't addressed this yet. I've had my mill for several years now. Norwood should ready out to an actual end user and let them rewrite the manual.

      @@neubauer6 I agree entirely. They are so familiar with their product they assume everyone knows what they are referring to. Even the close up pictures in some cases don't reference the general area of the detail. I spent a lot of time with that. Now, if I did a second one, the things we are talking about wouldn't be so critical.

    am putting mine together now and your video was a great help, dint like how the throttle cable runs.

    • @neubauer6
      @neubauer6  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I hear you. I'm constantly adjusting mine on the motor. Sometimes I let go of the throttle and the blade doesn't stop spinning. Other times I open the throttle and the cable pulls through the screw that secures it and I can't get to full throttle. Constantly adjusting it.

    Thanks, I was going to get this mill but now with woodland mills new mills I will get th HM126. The frontier website never gave me a comfortable feeling. All the mix match of pictures shows the truth, each mill is different and a hodge podge of parts. It looks nice just not what I would expect for $4.5k!

    I bought the stainless steel bunk guards for the os27. It has no instructions and I see no holes already predrilled in the bunks. Has anyone else purchase these guards and if so how was installation

    maybe remove the track extension when transporting, also maybe you could remove all nonessential sheet metal around the safety switches to make a place for the saw dust to fall out.

    • @neubauer6
      @neubauer6  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That would be a big job and defeat the purpose of them even offering it for sale. I don't want to spend an hour putting the track back together if I take my mill to someone else's property.

    Did you have any trouble levelling saw head. My whole head tilts forward slightly on the posts. Blade is not level and dives.

      I believe they are supposed to be canted forward slightly. I've never even checked it.

    No manual Assorted pages thrown together and for all the saws. Copied pictures were just black. Called left messages for MONTHS not one call back absolutely no help. This might be a piece of cake for some of you but I have been around paving machines and worked on equipment for 41 years. This was not easy to put together by yourself
