My wife and I are so proud of you getting the trailer especially since you mentioned it to them, and or suggested it to them. I hope they did you a solid, with your subscriber base going so high, it would pay for them to help you out on it. Thanks again my friend and I hope you have a blessed week. Keep up the great work my friend.
I just got my hm126 portable sawmill,, just about got it put together adjusting the tracking now. I am thrilled to see that there is a trailer for this Sawmill now, and I am so jealous that you got to use the very first one the Prototype! super impressed with the design made for shipping right to your front door or in my case I needed the saw to make my front door LOL. great video thank you for making! PS didn't know that Josh was one of the owners and engineers, he was a crucial part of my decision to purchase a Woodland Mills sawmill great tutorials!
That's a well designed and built trailer for the bandsaw mill cutting head. I suspect a set of notched log loading ramps will be an accessory. The ramps used in conjuction with two cant hooks will easily allow one to roll a good sized log up the ramp and onto the mill by themselves.
Good videos. Like others, I'm waiting for the build to recommence. I have a couple questions about the mill/trailer. 1-How long did it take to assemble the trailer? 2-How long did it take to assemble the mill head? 3-what is the weight of the trailer with cutting head? 4-On a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being equal to making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and 10 being equal to assembling and tuning a modern vehicle engine, how difficult was the mill/trailer assembly? 5-How well written are the instructions from Woodland Mills? Are they completely clear and concise? Are all photos completely obvious? 6-does woodland mills keep assembly simple by using same size bolts throughout, or are there twenty five different sizes that I have to contend with? Good video, thanks.
Very impressed with this sawmill. You did a great job demonstrating its capabilities. Question: is there a reason why you cut the wood so thick? Looks like 2-2.5”? Or is that what you need to do from shrinkage and/ or less twisting?
That motor assembly seemed to glide so much smoother when you showed the last clip than it ever seemed to when it was on the ground. The price of the saw is not much either, so you will make that back very soon after your cabin is complete.
Man, I've seen sawmills alone running $5K - $6K. A trailer like that that comes with the 126 portable sawmill? That is one serious piece of gear at a very reasonable price.
Great video. I too have a 2016 model and was wondering what alterations you made to accommodate this new trailer to the older model HM126?? Thanks. Keep up the good work.
Wow! Christmas in September! I'm so happy for you, that you scored that trailer. Woodland Mills has a good customer and friend in you. How are the tractor repairs coming?
Thanks Jeanette! The tractor is still busted sadly. I'm hoping it'll be fixed soon. In the meantime, I'm enjoying milling some smaller logs on the sawmill trailer setup.
Hello Outsider, I am enjoying your series and admire all that you have done so far on your cabin. If you would be kind enough to indulge me, I am curious why you chose the Woodland Mills sawmill as opposed to another make? What features appealed to you and what are/were some of the shortcomings? Thanks, Mohamed
Great Video I also have a older 126 mill 2015 I believe and would like to put it on a trailer My question is should I do the mods on the newer trailers or build a trailer to fit with the drawing from woodland mills for the older mills Is there a lot of modifications to make it fit the new prebuilt trailers ? Scott
I would do more investigation, not impressed with the Woodland Mills, it lacks many features but then I realize you are on a tight budget. Very nice videos and love the overhead shots.
Sadly, no. I currently have the starter in for a rebuild. Hopefully I won't have to wait too much longer for it to be finished. I'm itching to get going again.
I have owned a HM126 for 3 years now... it would be great to have the portability. I have a 30 foot permanent rail system now. Can I ask how $$? I'd need the 16 footer....
Wow you can do a lot with a 30 foot rail system! Impressive. I'm not sure how much the production models will be listed for, but the info should be up on the Woodland Mills website soon. Last I heard, the trailers should be available by "mid September".
How's it goin w mill...im puttin mine together now..i have the smallest lil dip in track but hasn't gotten to putting axle on yet..thinkin i can loosen n straighten out ..
So would popping the wheels off and the loading side fender on site and building a shorter ramp be a viable solution? And just curious, what's the last part say on the axe at the end?
If a guy is handy he could build his own. I got one of the new 2017 models. Being as cheap as I am I built my own trailer for 600$ now seeing how woodland mills designed their trailer, our trailers are very similar.
I'm sure someone must have asked by now, but how much $ was it? I have this vision in my head where I drive to Home Depot or Menards, swipe my credit card, hook it up to my trailer hitch, and drive off with it allready assembled. That would be awsome!
Oh good, look at that thing. Imagine just going out of the woods to trade lumber, get your cash, and buy the things you need, and go back to the woods.
Would have been nice if you had compared prices.. during your research. Compared to wood mixer or others.... but still very informatif and we'll made video... thanks!
Thanks! Something was wrong with the starter. The starter gear wasn't fully engaging the ring gear and it was grinding the corners of the teeth off. I've sent the starter in for a rebuild and I'm just waiting for the work to be done. I'm hoping soon!
You might make more money selling maple slabs, but it takes time ( easily 2 years and more air drying in a barn ) to dry a slab properly. Slabs can split, or turn into canoes if improperly dried. You likely see that in the soft wood your milling. I liked you video.
For those who are interested the tractor repair is a work in progress, The good news is that it only looks like a starter rebuild, which is being worked on at present! THKS for asking!
They need to manufacture and sell a heavy duty outdoor weather cover/tarpaulin for their sawmill, perhaps in two sections, one for the travelling arm saw cutting head and the other one for the whole apparatus.....with of course suitable wide Velcro attaching straps and, yes, their name and logo clearly present, with their telephone area code and number and their website ID.......
Very cool Video, great Job !!! Where are you from ? ONtario ? I am thinking of purchasing the same sawmill as yours, have a good day, keep up the good work !
How odd is it I just hung my Grandfathers 10" planer up on the wall (its 105 years old ) and was surfing youtube and thinking about a Log house ..without typing it in
I bought Woodland Mills HM126XL Woodlander sawmill with Kohler 14hp. Assembly was easy with good parts and good instructions. I am very satisfied.
The quality stands out in this product. Well done Woodland Mills.
Your speech is AWESOME!
That's why I subscribed. Clear and concise. No stuttering or stammering. Like me.
Just last night I was trying to justify purchasing a saw mill like this one... I no longer have anything to justify. Thanks form New England.
Samual Iam nice however any portable sawmill without hydraulics will stop this becoming profitable.

have a 126 and love it we have beat the crap out of it and its still works great
Portable sawmill...wow. Love all your videos. Thanks!
Thanks Susan!
Seen this machine used in a father and son log cabin build on YT and couldn't help myself to look it up after seeing the finished(cabin) product.
Woodland Mills seems to have their act together. That seems well engineered.
That's a well designed and built trailer for the bandsaw mill cutting head. I suspect a set of notched log loading ramps will be an accessory. The ramps used in conjuction with two cant hooks will easily allow one to roll a good sized log up the ramp and onto the mill by themselves.
Really like the drone video footage.
Thanks Dustin! The drone definitely adds another interesting perspective.
Yes,it's WAY over the top for that footage!!!!!
Congrats on your purchase. ty for demo. God bless.
you're gunna make some bad ass projects with that little gem
lol That's the plan!
Well, you do have the trees! That leveling feature is a bonus, not that I know anything, but I've seen others struggle on TH-cam !!!
Good videos. Like others, I'm waiting for the build to recommence. I have a couple questions about the mill/trailer.

Trailer looks like a winner! Enjoyed you drone footage as well.
Bill
Thanks!

Very well made videos. Thanks for explaining the pros and cons.
Thank you for your review and time!!!
looks like a good addition.
Woodland Mills does a great job with customer support too.
Agreed! They are an excellent all-around company, and I recommend their products to anyone who asks.
That trailer makes all difference in the world. That inches higher cutting alone makes it worth it. Bad backs and timber go hand in hand.
Hope Woodland Mills gave him a great deal... like $100... he deserves it!!!
he said no sponsor but he could be sucking up to them to get a sponsor
also cutting a section from an innertube for a sawdust spout extension would keep sawdust off the rollers.

Good video, Bro. They should sell many of these. Fantastic engineering.
Thanks Lee! Yes I agree. I don't think Woodland Mills will have any problem with sales. They have already made a great name for themselves.
Great video. I too have a 2016 model and was wondering what alterations you made to accommodate this new trailer to the older model HM126?? Thanks. Keep up the good work.
Another informative video from you. Thx.
Thanks Allan!
Great job as usual. Say a prayer for us here in ft Myers florida! Irma is going to hit us hard!
Yes we are doing that
Already praying. How did you fare the storm?
Another great review, thanks!

I have got to get one of these, in maybe 10-20 years haha.
i love the mill man
U PURCHASED it!!... come on Niel n Josh....usupposed to SPONSOR it.
what about mounting a winch on the front end and you can drag the heavy logs up with a ramp on the end
Turbo cool setup

If you would be kind enough to indulge me, I am curious why you chose the Woodland Mills sawmill as opposed to another make? What features appealed to you and what are/were some of the shortcomings? That sure looks fun
Thanks John!
I was wondering if movable ramps could be added to the side of the trailer then the larger logs can be rolled up onto the track.
That sawmill looks awsome! I got a chainsaw mill from Logosol but yours is amazing. Greetings from Andreas on Off Grid Sweden channel.
It's awesome to hear from someone in Sweden! Thanks for commenting.
Great Video
I also have a older 126 mill

Scott
WELL DONE good to see thank you for the video. :)
Thanks Richard!
Look/s nice what's the price range for a unit like that ?
nice trailer, I want one. but I think I am going to stick to the ground model for financial reasons for now. It is a nice hobby to have.
Awesome, just awesome!
Thank you!
Could you take off the tires and wheels to lower the mill easier loading of logs?
Can you tell me what sort of modification you made to allow for the older cutting head?
I would do more investigation, not impressed with the Woodland Mills, it lacks many features but then I realize you are on a tight budget. Very nice videos and love the overhead shots.
Enjoy watching your video
Wow. That's impressive.
Thanks Tina!
Your videos are amazing
Did you fix the Tractor?
Sadly, no. I currently have the starter in for a rebuild. Hopefully I won't have to wait too much longer for it to be finished. I'm itching to get going again.
very nice job on the video
Dang that thing is wicked bad!
Are the nuts self locking? Have you found that any loosen up? I'm looking at woodland mills and norwoods frontier mills.
dam! that's so great!
I have owned a HM126 for 3 years now... it would be great to have the portability. I have a 30 foot permanent rail system now. Can I ask how $$? I'd need the 16 footer....

Beautiful and informative. What was the total construction time for the trailer? Thanks.
Thanks! I figure it took two of us about 16 hours to get it completely together.
Out of curiosity, what would it take to take off the 6 foot extension and run it as a 10 foot trailer
I'm sure someone must have asked by now, but how much $ was it?
I have this vision in my head where I drive to Home Depot or Menards, swipe my credit card, hook it up to my trailer hitch, and drive off with it allready assembled. That would be awsome!
Much respect
Oh good, look at that thing. Imagine just going out of the woods to trade lumber, get your cash, and buy the things you need, and go back to the woods.
So what happened with the permanent rails that you had before you purchased the trailer kit?
Hey... can you tell me what time it is?
How do you lift the logs to the mill as the bigger ones are really heavy.
Would have been nice if you had compared prices.. during your research. Compared to wood mixer or others.... but still very informatif and we'll made video... thanks!
Thanks for the video!!!
Now that it's 2021, are you still satisfied with this mill? Would you buy it again?
Definitely! It's already paid for itself many times over. One of the best purchases I ever made.
How does the cutting head lock down for transport?
Great video !! The mill looks very sturdy. Did you figure out what happened to the tractor??
Thanks! Something was wrong with the starter. The starter gear wasn't fully engaging the ring gear and it was grinding the corners of the teeth off. I've sent the starter in for a rebuild and I'm just waiting for the work to be done. I'm hoping soon!

what did you do with the old rails
How much is it?? Live in Humboldt county have plenty of 🌲
How long did it take to put together?
Wait til you have to get a big heavy log UP onto that taller trailer.
Of course you could always dig holes for the wheels to sit down in.
Lol. Enjoy.
Hello, good video. May I ask, what's new with Your tractor?
For those who are interested the tractor repair is a work in progress, The good news is that it only looks like a starter rebuild, which is being worked on at present! THKS for asking!

where is it made?
Very cool Video, great Job !!! Where are you from ? ONtario ? I am thinking of purchasing the same sawmill as yours, have a good day, keep up the good work !
good job! what about projects to help economically/environmentaly?
It seems to me that this product has obvious economic and environmental benefits.
Do you know Billy rioux on TH-cam ? I think he would love this.
I certainly do! We've emailed back and forth a couple times. I think he's a great guy, and I love the work that he's doing.
how much does saw cost and trailer
Wow. How much did you pay?
love it
Como q eu do Brasil
Faço pra adquirir máquina
Dessas ?
Make a gin pole that mounts on the underside of the trailer so it won't interfere with the mill. Heavy log problems solved.
I want one.
Nice video , but please do something with your hair lol
When is part 10 ?
It's coming. Slowly, but surely. My tractor broke down about a month ago, so I'm delayed until it's fixed. But I promise episode 10 is coming. :)
And so we shall wait !!!!
How much ?
i might buy this but i dont have a tractor to move the logs. hmm maybe horses? lol
First rate. All the way.
1:07 ohhhh what a cowinkydink
How odd is it I just hung my Grandfathers 10" planer up on the wall (its 105 years old ) and was surfing youtube and thinking about a Log house ..without typing it in
It must be a sign! lol
Sorry, but I must have been brought up too English to ask someone "how much?"
one of these days
