    Love seeing some non-Tier 1 commanders show up in CEDH. Really shows off everyone's deckbuilding skills when they can still build a strong CEDH deck that doesn't use the best of the best commanders.

  • @SmugLookingBarrel

    I feel like Ryan was the most ignored played in the history of CEDH this game. Nobody did *anything* to him or his board the entire game, and one of his opponents even graciously got rid of the linvala that was stopping his card draw engine.

      Anje requires only Anje herself to combo off, I don't think the players could have done anything more to shut ryan down other than holding up a counterspell

      @@SackA11ack Or instant speed removal of either the Dragon or the Enchantment.

    • @DarkEinherjar
      @DarkEinherjar 4 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      If they knew Ryan's main wincon was the Worldgorger combo, that's the only thing they really needed to stop. All it takes is one instant speed removal effect (even a bounce effect will do), and that combo not only fails, but also effectively takes that player out of the game, as they lose all of their permanents.

    • @koanos2448
      @koanos2448 4 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      @@DarkEinherjar I believe they did know the whole time but Folger may have lacked the instant speed removal at that moment and Mike just pitched their hand to not die. Adam was waiting for the exact moment to win, especially after seeing everyone else's hands and knowing when they shouldn't try to win.
      I would say Folger made the right call to kill Adam but should have kept some Removal ready for when Ryan would try to win.

    You guys mentioned Sisay as the most valuable card, but I think that honour should've actually gone to Wrenn and Six, mainly for the absurdly reliable manabase it created that game. It is nice to know that people did appreciate those! Having those extra portions was eating too much into our production schedule. We have some awesome stuff coming in the near future for everyone and we had to make room in our schedules to do this. I hope what we reveal for you all is worth what we had to give up. Stay tuned!

    What software do you use to display life totals on top of your video of gameplay?

    • @PlayingWithPowerMTG
      @PlayingWithPowerMTG  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We use video editing software for our life totals in our recordings. For live streams we either use spell table or a proprietary software we were gifted that uses node js.

      Playing With Power MTG may I ask what the video editing software is? Adobe? Da Vinci Resolve?

      We moved to adobe premiere but we’ve heard great things about da Vinci.

    Why Ryan didn’t cast any of his madness spell? He lost sooooo much value.

    • @GamerdevilPro

      Because the deck is a 1-trick pony, all it really does is rummaging through the deck at absurd speed to find the Worldgorger + Animate Dead combo and win from there.
      Casting these spells doesn't really do a whole lot at a cEDH table usually, you rather want to keep mana up for your answers/bluff that you have answers.

    Why Would you play a fetchland in a monocolored deck? Can someone explain?

    • @milesroberts5910
      @milesroberts5910 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It’s a concept called deck thinning. I basically make you have one less card in your deck so it’s more consistent.

    • @Charlesxo
      @Charlesxo 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      And shuffling your library if you have top of the deck interaction. Example, as your picture is convenient. Mono blue decks would play fetch lands to not be stuck on a JTMS brainstorm lock if the top cards are trash.

      Deck thinning (which isn't really a significant thing), but you can shuffle the your deck if needed.

      That's only the end of the game. He didn't just drop it and hope. He patiently sculpted his hand and hid from the table AND had to get through a Mayhem Devil (ping to kill Anje to stop Ryan from drawing his deck off the Worldgorger combo), Linvala (stopping Anje's ability), and a Kenrith (who can animate the Worldgorger breaking the sac chain from Animate Dead). He had to deal with three stax pieces against him. It was a well earned victory.
