@@Naozwc that just gave me a a sweet idea. We should start a new Commander format. 1v1 with 60 card decks and you start at 30 life. Its not Brawl because you can't use planeswalkers as commanders.

Wow guys, I've been a fan of the channel ever since your first upload and the new production quality on this episode really adds to the experience. Loved the new animated commanders. You guys are by far the best CEDH channel on TH-cam. Keep it up!!
Best way to imagine Rat Colony with a sword is by picturing the Rats from Plague Tale: Innocence. Especially when they spin around in a tornado towards the player character, Amicia.
Force of Vigor should have been cast during Ryan's upkeep, since there is no "end turn" if a player loses. Well, these were three cool games! The spookyness was appreciated!
When someone dies during their own turn, I believe it actually moves to the Ending Phase (end step and cleanup) of the turn before going on to the next player's turn. it's a *spooky ghost turn* but it still happens.
Spoilers: When the games started, I thought to myself "No way the Rat Colony deck can win against these other CEDH decks." I shouldn't have underestimated them.
I was going to ask why Zack didn't play an instant speed reanimate effect from his yard on his Thassa's Oracle in his upkeep on game 3, but then I remembered the Dranith Magistrate
Awesome video, but it was confusing at times with the kings on adam's side of the battlefield, especially when ryan used the ace card for his vampire token
I did have bad luck for sure. Spoilers! On the turn I cast Carrion Feeder into Trinisphere, I believe I could have won the next turn. I would have cast Natural Order to get Protean Hulk and proceed to do a line from there. Unfortunately the board got wiped before I could do that. ~Adam, PwP
Two questions: 1) In game 2, why couldn't the Edgar Markov player directly go for the 3 cards they needed? 2) What was with the king playing cards??? I am very confused 😅
2 things about game 1: If you can't win the game because of angels grace, won't you lose the game? Or will you try to win but don't? Did everyone forget that trinisphere was in play during the last turn?
It's because he never tries to draw a card. the draw is replaced with jace's effect, which can't happen so nothing happens instead. "draw a card" becomes "win the game". Win the game can't happen, so nothing happens. He could've just cracked Fiery Islet on top of Silence and still win, so we let it go.
So clarification on Angel's Grace and Jace, since the replacement effect of Angels Grace says your opponents cannot win and you still draw from an empty library with Jace's effect basically nullified would you not then lose?
It's because he never tries to draw a card. the draw is replaced with jace's effect, which can't happen so nothing happens instead. "draw a card" becomes "win the game". Win the game can't happen, so nothing happens.
@@PlayingWithPowerMTG well that's not entirely true, drawing a card leads to winning the game, you still attempt to draw the card. If you can't draw the card and you can't win, then you lose.
Jace's replacement effect is still valid to put on the stack, it just doesn't win the game when it resolves. It's like targeting an indestructible creature with Beast Within. And since the replacement effect is being put on the stack, the draw effect doesn't happen.
Shouldn't angel's grace only let you to not lose? Why the others were saved? And in the 3rd match abyss should have killed him, as he had to draw cards equal to half his life after grindstone milled him?
Can someone explain why everyone plays dark confidant over phyrexian arena? It's 1 extra black and costs you half as much life if not less, leaving more life for ad nauseam and doesn't give your opponents information
Too expensive. It also reveals the card instead of draws it, which gets around Hullbreacher effects. It's also a creature that can connect with things like tymna, and be sacc'd to things like Culling The Weak.
@@PlayingWithPowerMTG TY, but I disagree with the expense. Didn't think about hullbreacher effects though. And bodies are always good but easier to remove so I always viewed that one as a double edged blade but I do admit I'm basically a newborn in the competitive scene. Cheers again for answering
@@PhoenixRNH I completely expected it in a cEDH match, but I also expected reanimation in a reanimate deck.
