Layering and Glazing Non-Metallic Metal (NMM) on Miniatures (Blending Tutorial)

  • In this video I quickly show you how to combine "layering" and "glazing" techniques to create smooth blends between paint colors. This is useful for painting with a non-metallic metal (NMM) style to recreate the reflections of shiny metallic surfaces. If you're looking for a way to create buttery smooth transitions between paints, try "layering and glazing".
    For this tutorial, I used an old spray cap that I primed with Vallejo Surface Primer. The two paints I used here are "Vallejo Model Color Dark Sea Blue" and "Reaper Master Series Paint Khaki Highlight". The glazing medium is "Golden Stain Glazing Liquid".

      Hah, definitely harder, but doable. On the bright side, on a 5mm surface your blends don't need to be as smooth :)
